This was a really great movie! I cant wait to see it again! I also cant wait to see the next one! It was everything I wanted it to be!! I was afraid cause movies are not like the books but this one hit all the right major points! I loved that most of my favorite quotes from the book made there way to the movie!!! If you like the book you will like the movie. I thought Kristen and Robert did great jobs as Bella and Edward. My only complaint is that he seemed much more vulnerable in the movie than he did in the book. In the book he is portrayed as tightly bound, in the movie sometimes he just came across as confused. But I loved the movie and will go see it again.

The movie made no sense if you haven't read the book and there were definitely some cheesy parts. I heard that they made the movie on a low budget (which I doubt considering the massive amounts of advertising for it) which might explain why the special effects were so poor. The acting was...meh. Good thing Rob Patterson was in the movie otherwise this could have been a total bomb.

I didn't read the book but I did get the subtle nuances that were thrown around. It was not as dark as I thought it would be and my children could totally watch this. Can't wait for the next ones to come out but I do hope that they include more of the book, longer movies are ok when done well.

I absolutely loved the movie. I didn't expect it to be as good as the book because well, that is impossible. But they did such a good job of really staying true to the book and getting all the important parts in there!! I plan on seeing it many more times in the theater. I felt this was a good movie, not great, but good. I realized the book needed to be cut down to make it into a movie, but I feel a lot of important things were left out. I was discussing it with a friend and we both decided that they missed a lot of character development in the movie. I
All in all, it was a good movie and I'll probably go out and buy it when it comes out. If I own the movie, I won't have to deal with annoying little people at the theater clapping and yelling in the middle of the movie-didn't their parents teach them manners? I would recommend it to a friend.

I took my daughter and her friend 15 and 17 to see the opening night of the movie I knew very little about the story beyond it had a cute guy and he was a vampire. The movie blew me away, I am a HUGE Lord of the Rings fan and this had some of the same attention grabbing moments as they did. Not quite the same depth they were but it was not a boring sit through this for the girls movie, made me want to go and read all four books. Edward is a complex charactor that draws you in and makes you want to know more. You actually are hoping that Bella gets bit so she can stay with her love. A great watch plan to see it again in the theater.

I liked the movie, but i guess i expected soo much more. certain details that i was waiting for was excluded and other deatils that Staphanie Meyer's went on and on about were not as detailed (like the Cullens house, not what i expected, kinda plain compared to the book). But i guess i should have known better to expect so much from a movie, when the book was soo amazing. Overall it was just ok for me, i would probably go see it again just to see if i get a different feel for it this time, and yes Jacob and Edward were both really hot in the movie.

I went to the oppening last night with my daughter and a few of her friends. I have not read the book and while I can see where it would have been helpful if I had, I wont say that it is a must. There were a couple of scenes where giggles arose from the audience and I had to get an explaination from the girls. But that was only in the first 15 minutes. The acting was ok, but there were a few moments where I thought it was very weak. The story line was, romantic, cute, and totally appropriate for teens. However, I disagree with another reviewer who said the story moved too fast and jumped around too much. I thought it actually moved along very slow, almost to the point of "dragging."

I will start by saying that I love the books and actually enjoyed the movie, but this it had all the wonderful makings of made for TV movie.The acting looked forced and it really jumped around, not that I don't understand how difficult it is to to adapt a narrated book into a screenplay. I think the only way anyone could really enjoy this movie is if they really liked the book.

I have to say that I am a true Twilight fan, however, this movie didn't quite live up to the book. Anyone who hasn't read the book might not understand all the references and the movie briefly touches on important things that could have made Twilight even better.

My wife had read all the books and drove me crazy about the movie coming up. I, myself have not read any of the books just listened to her go on and on about them. I got us tickets to the opening at 12:01 am and was not disappointed. I really got sucked in and enjoyed every minute of the film. I give it two thumbs up and would like to say GO BUY A TICKET!!

I love the books. I had high expectations about the movie, but sadly there were just too many things I didn't like. The big thing was was that they rushed through the scenes. When it took half a book for Bella and Edward's love to blossom, it only took 30 minutes in the film. There were added scenes that weren't in the book, and events occured out of sequence. I was really excited to see how they'd do the sparkling skin, and ended up laughing when I saw it. I still gave it 4 stars, because afterall it is Twilight, and they included all the main parts. True fans will recognize various quotes. Robet was great. I loved the Cullens. Jasper was the funniest. I will see it again, hoping to catch things that I didn't the first time around.

If you had not read the books before watching the movie READ THE BOOKS, it will help you. The movie moves a little bit fast, but does a good job at getting the point across. The actors did a great job at their parts, and the diector did a great job as well. Some of the special effects are a little out there, but over all a great movie!!!

Catherine Harwicke is a genius in my book, so faithful to the vision I had in my own mind of Forks and Bella and Edward. Rob and Kristen were phenomenal in their portrayals of our favorite immortal and his beloved. And the Pacific Northwest was a gorgeous and mysterious backdrop to the story. I thought all the actors were so true to Stephenie's characterizations, with the one exception of Bella's mom, who was supposed to be an older version of Bella and I just didn't see that. But her part was so minor it was easily overlooked. All in all, though, I was mesmerized from start to finish and can't wait to see it again. Two hours of Rob Pattinson is just not enough!

I know my daughter really enjoyed the books and I expected more. The movie was funny, and I don't believe the book was meant to be funny. It seemed overacted, too much staring with weird looks that just had us laughing. My recommendation is to wait for the rental.

Movie was much better than my expectations. Followed the book well. Those who have read the book will understand the movie's depth a lot better than those who haven't. I do suggest reading the book, but I don't consider it necessary. Movie will just be a lot better if you do.
Kristen Stewart played the awkwardly exposed Bella Swan perfectly. Robert Pattinson portrayed his roll as Edward beyond what I thought was possible. All the cast did an amazing job.
Overall, this is a must see. Fans of the Saga will be pleased with the outcome of this film. Can't wait to see the next one!

Soooo after waiting for 6 hours at the theater to see TWILIGHT, the question is...."Was it worth it?". My answer is "Of course!" I made new friends and enjoyed the movie thoroughly! My opinion is biased though because I have always had a vampire fetish (rawr)and I love the book! It was great seeing the characters being portrayed in the movie and knowing all the inside jokes that were throughout the film. =) Read the book before watching it...or you won't enjoy it as much.

I really loved the movie and i was not dissapointed at al! I've read all the novels and loved the movie but you do have to read the book before the movie because they are many scenes that you will not understand unless you have read the book! First the negative: It was a little like watching a high school production. The actors who play Jacob and Rosalie didn't live up to the book's descriptions. Also, Carlisle's make-up was awful! Most of the acting was just okay and the dialogue was awkward at times.
Having said that, Edward and Bella were exactly as I pictured them, Robert Pattinson is the best eye candy I've seen in a long time! Bella's father, Alice, and Jasper were well cast. The humor of the book was well represented, it was really funny at times. If you are a fan of the book, you will enjoy this movie. I hope the sequels have a larger budget to work with, I think CGI would have made this movie much better!!

I love the book series so I was really excited about the movie. I know books are usually better than their movie counterpart and this is completly true for Twilight. i did love the movie though. It does move faster in the movie than it does in the book making some things seem very rushed and out of order. There were a few aspects in the movie that were not in the book at all but I felt it kind of added to the movie. I would definietly recommend this movie.

I definitely loved the movie! I felt like a giggly school girl! I would agree with the previous review that reading the book beforehand is helpful. I felt that not all of the characters were as developed as they are in the book. I wanted to get to know the Cullens more than I did. But I guess it is easier to do this in a 500 page book than in a 2 hour movie. This is definitely a must see! Robert and Kristen are perfect :-) I couldn't have chosen anyone better. I felt that there was good chemistry between them. Get out there and see it all you Twilight fans!!!

The movie was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The actors and producers did a wonderful job at making sure the movie did not steer away from the actually story line of the book. Although the movie was not better than the book (which was known from the beginning, since nothing could be better than the actually twilight book itself) it was still perfect.

I was expecting to be greatly disappointed-and I’m glad I was wrong. I think all the vampire actors did a great job, the humans were the cheesy ones but compared to the perfection of vampires, how could they not be? Granted some scenes strayed from the book &/or were not how I pictured them, but I wasn’t the director. Overall I think they did a great job presenting the story in a 2 hour movie that a non-book fan could understand, enjoy & come to love Twilight. I’ve already had requests for friends to borrow my books. even if you don’t think the movie was that good, it's creating a bigger, more varied fan base, making more people want to read the series & envision their own Edward (or Jacob). Isn’t that what it's all about??

I went in with low expectations and came out pleasantly surprised. No movie is ever going to be as good as the book. Twilight did a great job of squeezing a 500+ novel into a 2hr movie. It looks like it was made with a $37mil budget, at times it felt kind of rushed, and I could've lived w/o the sparkling, but I think that the movie did a good job of staying true to the novel and ended with a good lead-in to New Moon. Biggest surprise for me was Billy Burke (Charlie). He was fantastic. Kristen and Rob were amazing. She is a superb actress and I don't think HE could've pulled this role off w/o HER. Jackson Rathbone (Jasper) was also great. I think he had like 1-2 lines but the kitchen scene was priceless.

I thought that the movie was good for the time frame that it was in. I loved the actors that they chose for the characters and they all did a great job acting the part. I can't wait until the next one comes out. It will have to be longer because there is just too much information throughout the rest of the series to rush them like this one was but I guess that there are limitations.{spoiler}--------------I didn't like how they added extra scenes that weren't even in the book to the movie...they had plenty of original material to use. I also didn't like how they skipped passed most of the romantic parts of the book that could have been great in the movie. Overall I still liked it.....it was just rushed!
