I loved the movie! I have read all the books so it was easy to follow. For those that have not read the book certain parts will seem irrelevant. I also felt that there wasn't enough passion between Bella & Edward. Which may confuse people. There was no explanation to why they had this never ending attraction towards one another.
The characters were very accurate.
Overall the movie was done very well and the cast is very talented. I'm looking forward to the next movie.

If you have read the book, you will love the movie. I am in my mid 40's and got into the Twilight series when my daughter started reading them and we are both huge Twilight fans. We loved the movie....all of the characters were perfectly casted. My husband went too and had not read the books and was confused in some of it. It definitely helps if you know the story because it all goes so fast. When the 2 hours were over I couldn't believe it. We went to the midnight show Thursday night and at the theatre I went to there were 3 sold out theatres. I highly recommend seeing this and plan to see it again.

I had really high hopes for this movie. So much so that I went to the midnight showing on opening night. It just didn't live up to the hype. I am a huge fan of the books, but the movie cut too much and added odd, useless elements (Waylon the butt-crack Santa???). It's still a fairly good movie, but far too campy to be great.

I left Twilight feeling a little cheated. My 16 year-old daughter loved it, of course, but I'm a little more critical... especially when it comes to vampires.
Twilight is chalked full of painful dialog and is plagued by uninspiring actors that are boring to watch, unless you're a teenage girl. Twilight progress through what feels like an arduous, uphill battle that climaxes in the last 20 minutes and makes an attempt to save the previous hour and forty-two minutes. Being a "vampire" movie, there are only a couple of "fang" moments and it's another vampire tale that makes an attempt to reinvent what vampires are (see: vampires in direct sunlight). Twilight was a boring, predictable attempt at what is a decent novel.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Sitting in the theater with Twilight fans, I could feel the excited and anxiousness that I'm sure everyone was feeling. But movie came on,ended; people clapped minimally, then got up and left. I did like the movie. The actors I thought were excellent,.
A lot of moments were laughable, Bella falling, Edwards sweet comments to her, but also some of the most serious parts.During the ending fight scene when Edward was ripping off a chunk of James' neck, I thought Edwards expression on his face was priceless.
It was rushed, (the romance between Bella and Edward), one minute they're talking in Biology class, the next they're pledging they're love to each other; it was wrong.
All in all, it was a sweet, funny, swoon worthy movie.

The movie never follows the book and I really enjoyed the book so I wasn't expecting a lot and I was pleasantly surprised. I thought the movie was very good! Of course some things were a little different but that's to be expected. At first I didn't think that I liked the Actors that were selected to play the parts but after watching - they belonged in the part. Well done!

I am a 48 yr old mother of a 19 yr old daughter. We both read the books and thoroughly enjoyed them. We went to the midnight showing for her birthday. Our expectations were quite high so the movie was a bit of a disappointment however entertaining. I recommend reading the books first to get it. My other daughter didn't read the books and didn't get it. We did laugh alot and had fun overall.

Twilight was a GREAT movie! I did go in expecting it to be EXACTLY like the book...and it was not. However, there were key parts of the book in the movie which were AMAZING. Don't go to the movie with preconceived notions that it will be exactly like the book and you will really enjoy "Twilight" The Movie. Also, the soundtrack was amazing. I WILL go and see it again.

Having read the books I was very disappointed. If I could get over the things they added, scenes they rearranged, or even the words they put into Edward's mouth I couldn't forgive them for what they did to Alice. I might be a little biased since Alice is my favorite person from the book, but they took her parts almost completely out! The huge role she played with James? Cut to maybe 5 minutes. MAYBE! The best advice I can give is if you read the book before hand and still want to see the movie, forget everything you read!!

Okay, I am a teacher and noticed my students reading the book. I had to find out what all the excitement is about. I have the first 2 books and I am so EXCITED!!! Now I must admit it is a GREAT idea to read the book sometime in the future at least. I felt a little odd watching the movie because there were some key elements that were missing. Plus the book went more in depth with Edward and Bella's relationship. I promise you are going to want MORE MORE MORE!!! Oh, yes Edward was hot, but Jacob, and Emmet was not too far behind...smile!!!!

twilight was beautifully filmed but it seemed like the whole story was rushed. i think a non-reader would miss out because so much information was left out. i wish there was more of bella and edward, and more of a connection with edward and his family, especially alice! the meadow scene was lacking (arg!) but the baseball scene was as it should be! still, it was very entertaining (and funny!) and worth the wait! i WILL see it again! (...with my husband, a non-reader of the books)

This movie did not disapoint. I think anyone could enjoy this modern, fantastic twist to the typical vampire movie. It seemed to move quickly through the storyline (I wanted it to last forever). The characters felt real and believable as people. The actors did a fantastic job putting a face to the "fantasy". I recomend this to both guys and girls, there is action, comedy, sensuality and bottom line it is just plain fun to watch.. I am a huge Twilight fan and have read the series (several times). I watched the movie not expecting it to follow the book too closely, but to keep the general essence of what Stephanie Meyer had created. I loved it!!! I look forward to the next one!

This movie is absolutely amazing, IF you've read the book. For those of you who haven't read the book and go see the movie you won't be laughing with the rest of the crowed especially when a part is different from the book. And I completely understand why they changes some things so that viewers who did not read the book could still follow the story. And I absolutely LOVE how Stephenie Meyer was in the movie! And Edward Cullen is absolutely perfect <3, although I believe the actress that plays Bella may need a few more acting classes. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone.

We went to the midnight showing. I was a little concerned about "Edward" from previews but he delivered! True that it helps to read the book first but we had a Twilight "virgin" who followed along well and loved it. The actors and scenery were darn close to my impressions from reading the books. The only bad part - waiting for the next film!

I saw this movie at 12:01 Friday Morning, I have read all the books and loved them. I think they did an amazing job with this movie and they even made some parts laugh out loud but mostly Edward Cullen Was Magnificent. I enjoyed the movie though I am not a huge fan of the books. The movie does suffer some off the same problems as the book (insane lines that make you laugh and such) but once you get to the baseball scene you can see what the characters and plot can really do. I was bored with all the random "artsy" camera angles and really disapointed that the other characters were marganalized (especially Alice and Jasper). But it was a great look into the vampire world. And I really look forward to the second movie bescause that was my favorite book.

This movie was awesome... I have read all of the series and it was incredible.... Especially because I will be the first to say i was not a fan of the casting.... I didn't like Robert Pattinson as Edward I was expecting him to be more charming.... handsom not so ridiculously creepy.... HE WAS PHENOMINAL!! Him and Kristen Stewart together were PERFECT! The movie definately worked out...
... I also agree the movie moved faster than the book. The first 6 chapters or so of the book are covered within the first 10 minutes of the movie. It was really well done. We took my friends 10 year old brother who never read the books and he LOVED it.
Theres some comedy, some action, some drama... Great movie for the family!

I have to say I was VERY disappointed by the movie. I had high expectations and found it lacking in every way. Acting wasn't great, scenes jumped from one to another without any real flow. It should have been twice as long - there was no time for the crucial and detailed plot and character development that Stephanie put into her books and which the story more than deserves. The soundtrack was also bad, and did nothing to add to the movie. A good soundtrack could have translated all the intense emotion you feel when you read the book to the screen. I wanted my heart to race like Bella's does when Edward is close, but no such reaction.

So this was my first time ever going to a midnight viewing and it was so worth it. I do agree that if you haven't read the book there are parts you won't understand as well as those who have. My only complaint was in some parts a moved a little too fast. It was definitely true to the book in having all the main parts and quotes. Everyone did a great job and were all true to my expectations. Though Bella's school friends were a little more comical than in the book but that is not a bad thing. All in all it was an amazing movie and I am already planning to see it again.

They left out a lot of important conversations between Bella and Edward that help you to see them falling in love.
There were good parts. I loved this kissing scene, and I laughed quite a bit.
But its as if they did an outline of the book and took all the important parts to the plot and and threw them together in the quickest way possible. It all ran together so fast, that if you had never read the book you wouldn't know half of what was going on, and how the hell they fell in love so fast!
And if you did read it, you know that it did not even come close to doing the book justice.

I'm a military wife and the only thing that has kept me busy during my husband deployment was the Twilight sega! And I must say the movie did measure up to the book. Ofcourse they left out alot but it will always be that way! But I would say this movie is just as amazing as the book is!

this movie was amazing. i have read the entire series and of course the movie is NOWHERE near as amazing as the books (SO READ THEM BEFORE YOU SEE THE MOVIE PLEASE. IT WILL BE THAT MUCH BETTER)
they were awkward together but thats how they were in the book, some of the acting was silly but honestly who cares. take it for what it is. i just hope bella warms up in the next movie!

I looooove the "Twilight" books, but the movie, not so much. I thought that it was kinda cheezy. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson had no on screen chemistry, so I felt disengaged with the characters. I had a fun night out with all the girlfriends, but very disappointed with the movie!

I thought the movie was great. Some people were dissappointed when it strayed from the book, but you have to remember the movie can only be so long and some parts have to go, and some things have to change in order for other shortened scenes to make sense. I think they did a great job. The premise of the movie stayed true to the idea of the book, and overall I thought it was awesome!! Lots of akwardness between Edward and Bella, but how real is that?! Great movie.

I am a firm believer that books are always better than the film adaptations, but this movie surprised me.
