ok Loved the movie...i think it was better then the book actually...also the acting was great right on point and i felt rob and kristen did an very good job of portraiting bella and edward..also i liked how the director played up the cheesness..but not in a bad way tho..i think it made the movie much better and really funny..the romance scene's was great the base ball scene and the fight scene incredible...i would so see it again which i will be also the music is so great with every scence so good job.....i loved it

The movie was simply amazing. It stuck to the storyline in the book as closely as possible with some extra action scenes and some really funny moments from the kids at school and even the Cullen family! Rob Pattinson did an amazing job at troubled and torn Edward; I couldn't imagine anyone else playing his part. Overall the movie was AMAZING! I was a little disappointed with the amount of emotion that was lost in some of the scenes compared to the book, but that is expected!
I agree, READ THE BOOK BEFORE SEEING THE MOVIE! I saw it with someone who had not read Twilight and she said she was jealous that she didn't get some of the hidden meanings in some of the scenes! Read the book anyway...you WON'T be disappointed!!

i was a little skeptical going to see this movie. At first i wasn't sure that it wouldn't live up to the book. i went to the midnight showing with my friends and i just have to say, i felt extremely demasculinated standing there(im a guy by the way, just so thats clear) with all these girls around me screaming. But it was worth it. I had caught twilight fever two weeks prior after a friend forced me to read the book before the movie came out. When the movie started i was never excited to see a movie as much as i was this one. Sure there is harry potter but that's another love. I loved watching this movie unfold and become reality in front of my very own eyes.

I read the books and think the movie did them justice. My daughter and I loved it! Obviously there were changes from the book in the movie, but there have to be. Good casting all around. Everyone did a great job and to reconfirm an earlier post - the school kids were really brought to life well. They were hilarious. I liked that there was more humor in the introduction of Bella and Edward than I read into the story when I read it in the book. Good movie and a definite recommendation to any Twilight fan!

I did really enjoy this movie. I think they tried to cover too much in such a short amount of time that they did a disservice to the parts that were covered, making the movie feel rushed. It seemed to me that the relationship between Edward and Bella wasn't given enough attention. You didn't feel the depth of their relationship in the movie. I really hope to see all the books made into movies.

The scenes were very choppy. Nothing at all like I wanted. Kristen Stewart did a great job as Bella. Robert Pattinson as edward?...was it me or did it seem very akward and over acted? It made me cringe at every moment...it seemed so cheesy. I think I imagined it soooo much smoother in my head...
and the jumping around? talking to her from a tree? what was that...and the sun glistening on his body? looked more like a rash.
Oh, I cant believe im bashing this movie...but I probably will watch it again another time...without the crazy girls around...maybe it will be better.

I absolutly loved this movie! I've been soooo excited for this movie since about April and I was so happy to finally see it on screen. I won't lie to you all, there are some cheesy parts, but they're cute and so worth it! Catherine Hardwick! I loved your vision of this amazing novel! Felt like everything was on fast forward. Book to movie translation sadly a complete failure. Those very special moments & conversations that made me fall in love w/the books are either drastically changed or NO WHERE! Disappointed, absolutely! I knew it would be difficult to create & bring across the stir of emotion & wit of the books on screen, however, I never imagined that so many pivotal scenes would be absolutely ruined, best parts of the book were completely ignored. How could they ruin the "meadow scene?" It's a shame that NONE of the relationships ever connected or seemed real, as for the special effects, why bother! The majority of the characters were merely shadows or fillers! What happened to the substance?

The acting was terrible, the flow of the movie was choppy, and there was no chemistry between "Edward" and "Bella".
Movies based on books rarely compare to the books. That's understood. But this movie doesn't even begin to touch on the raw, wonderful, emotional connection Stephenie Meyer's series offers up.
During the movie, I couldn't help but feel rushed. It was very apparant that this movie was filmed in just a matter of a few months and I think everything about the movie suffered because of that.
I really hope the actors watch this movie and realize that in order for the 3rd and 4th sequals not to go straight to DVD, they're going to have to step up and conquer the expectations that Twilight fans have for the films.

I am a 35 yrs young and I took my 2 girls to see the midnight showing. We loved it! They didn't even mind going to school this morning after getting home so late. My 14 yr old has read all of the books and now my 10 yr old wants to read them. We are looking forward to the sequel. My 14 yr old even screamed, "I LOVE YOU, EDWARD!" at the end of the movie. So, we are definitely a TEAM EDWARD family!

If you've not read the books, you will likely enjoy the movie (provided you like vampire love stories), but if you are a die-hard fan and appreciate literary accuracy...you are likely to be disappointed. I enjoyed the movie, but spent entirely too much time annoyed about deviations from the book. I know it can't be perfect, but some things would have been easily fixed. Rosalie and Emmet were AWFUL. They didn't fit their descriptions at all, it was a huge disappointement. The getting ready for prom scene was cut, which was one of my favorites showing the relationship between Bella and Alice. Go, watch, enjoy, just leave your expectations at the door.

I am a huge adult Twilight fan. I have the box set of the books. I even bought a Team Edward shirt to wear to the movie. With that said, I was very dissappointed. The movie went too fast and they changed too much. There was no chemisrty between Edward and Bella. The movies was kinda cheesy, It wasn't bad, it was just a different than expected.

I seen the movie last night and it was alright. Wasn't great but it didn't stink. I guess nothing will compair to your own imagination.
There was AWESOME humor it in. The movie is worth seeing, but I do suggest that you have read the book first. My mom watched it without reading book & had lots of questions after it was done.
I think I'd definitely go see it again, because it all went so fast, I think from the anticipation of the wait, etc etc. The best part - Edward's first appearance. I think the entire theater squealed with delite :) Hope my review helps some people...

I liked it. It bothered me anytime they changed anything. They had certain conversations take place in the wrong settings, they added some stuff, left out a lot. I don’t think people who haven’t read the series will like it much. The characters spend tons of time staring at each other where because I’ve read the series, I know what the internal dialogue of the characters is supposed to be and I can fill in the blanks. If you haven’t read the books, don’t know what the characters are thinking or what things are happening under the surface of all the staring, you might get annoyed with it and feel like you’re watching an episode of The Hills.

I have to say, I am a huge fan of the Twilight series and this movie just topped it off for me. I really enjoyed the cast (i am IN LOVE with robert pattinson!) and although i do admit the movie was a little on the choppy side with some awkward scenes, it was most definitely worth it...i would go see it again in a heartbeat!

Well, that's a good question. I read all the Harry Potter books and really liked them.... but a romance book about vampires, please ! Well, I finally gave in. I found the story engaging and well written, and thought their are parts that were a bit heavy on the romance, but it was wholesome.
The move closely followed the books and found it very engaging, funny and yes intense enough for guys to get into. And unlike the reviewer for the Phoenix Tribune, I think the movie was well made, not the 2.5 stars he rated it which puts it in the range of Zoolander and any Adam Sandler movie.
Go see it you'll probably be suprised that you actually like it.

I am a 46 year old mom who got hooked on the Twilight books - I went to the midnight showing which had both shows sold out. Went with 3 friends 2 who didn't read the books - they both didn't like the movie at all. I agree that you really need to read the books to follow the movie. Really followed the book closely - I think the actors really fit their parts everyone was fantastic - lots of humor, action and romance! Look for a "special appearance" by someone we all know and love! Can't wait to see this movie again!! Bring on New Moon!

Lovers of the book may love the movie for it's link to the story, but never for the actual content of the movie itself. From the plotline, to the acting, to the make-up, Twilight was one disappointment after another. I do think the casting of Robert Pattinson as Edward was good - something I did not think when it was annouced.
However - Summit really needed to invest more in the screenplay, directing, acting, special effects, and make-up. This movie had the potential to live up to Harry Potter standards, and sadly, it fell far short.

At first i was apprehensive of viewing this film, the only reason i went was becausei had nothing better to do and my sister wanted me to go. I have not read the books before, because my sister is obsessed, so i chose not to. I thought this movie was going to be way cheesy, but it was pretty amazing. I thought it was very good, and there were no slow parts in this movie, time went by very quickly, and it was very entertaining! The acting exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately, when books get made into movies, a lot of liberties are taken. Not because they want to bastardize the book, but out of necessity. I very much enjoyed Twilight, but they had to take a lot of scenes from the book and jam them together because of time. However, it was still a very good movie. The time constraints that couldn't be avoided were the only downsides for me. I can forgive those pretty easily though, because not only did the author of the books, Stephenie Meyer have a cameo, but from what I understand she was on set the majority of the time at the cast and crew's disposal. So if it was good enough for her, it's good enough for me.

If you are a fan of the book or even if somehow you've never heard of Twilight, you are going to love this movie. While a movie can never be as good as a book the decisions made to combine scenes or eliminate a few was almost perfect. The chemistry between Bella and Edward was amazing and Kristen Stewart was PERFECT as Bella. The supporting cast were also very good and even choices which I thought originally wouldn't work ended up being fine.
Everyone in our group thought it was excellent.
If you are a single straight guy you need to go & see this movie! The theatre is packed with teen girls thru single women in their 30's & I was probably one of only 6 guys in the whole theatre. This is the place to meet a girl or woman.

Honestly I wasn't much of a Rob fan, but then at one scene he actually looks really great! And I think he definitely got the crooked smile down, exactly how I imagined Edward smiling!!!
But when I drag my dad out to watch the movie w/ me, he said that he didn't get a lot of the parts if I didn't explain to him afterwards. So if you haven't read the book, read it before you watch the movie!!!

I usually avoid midnight shows because of the massive crowds, lack of parking, background chatter, and lousy seats. This one, however, I could not miss. And it was so worth it! Having read and loved the entire Twilight series, I was skeptical of how well the movie would keep to the original story. While they, of course, cut many parts out, those parts didn't seem very vital to the story. Each character was played at least relatively well, and most of them were exactly what I pictured! Even the Swans' house was how I imagined it. I would have liked to see more of Jacob but Edward/Pattinson is more than satisfying enough to appease that disappointment! I am definitely seeing this again in theaters, and buying it the day it comes out on DVD.

was that really the movie i waited months for? We knew the story, so the plot was satisfactory, but I think that was one of it's few strong points. Most places matched the book besides the cullen's home, which they ruined.
acting: almost everything's overdone. when edward 1st sees bella, it looks more like he wants to throw up and cry than attack her. if one face could get away with bad acting, it was only robert's. prepare yourself for ridiculously funny faces that they seem to think represent agony. oh and kristen's monotone voice and fake expression make you want to kill yourself.
2 hrs of Rob smiling and wearing Ray Bans would have been a better investment of everyone's $.

As always, the book far exceeds the quality of the movie line. That's no surprise for ANY film. I loved the movie and the theatre was so charged during the whole film. I especially appreciated seeing the author of the Twilight series strategically placed in the movie. Stephenie, you ROCK girl! Go see this film but don't short change yourself by not reading the books either.

I know many of you will not be all to happy with what I am saying but I thought that some of this movie was a little cheezy. It wasn't directed well in some parts and a bit of the OVER acting bug in there. I do agree that it went to fast through the story it seemed like they wanted to fit it all in but cut out some really good parts of the book. Saying this I most likely will see it again and buy the movie on dvd but when and if they make the second book into a movie. I hope they keep in mind that they could have made the movie a bit longer and focused on the love not the humor of the story.

The movie followed the book exactly like I hoped it would. You really should read the book prior to the movie in order to understand the movie completely. I would have liked the movie to be longer so more of the book could have been fit into the movie. The love scenes with Bella and Edward were great! We will see it over and over agin and buy the movie when it comes out!
