I was skeptic at first, especially seeing my girlfriend get so excited about it. I assumed this would be a chick flick. But admittingly, i found the movie to be pretty good, better than good actually. I have yet to read the books, but the movie sparked my interest, and I'll be on my way to Barnes & Noble this afternoon.Edward was a really good actor, and he played his part well. Half the time you were scared and the other half you were laughing at his unique humor. The movie had a great story line, and im interested in seeing the sequel.t's a must see for vampire fans. And even if you didnt read the book like me, you can still follow the movie pretty well, it just seems like you miss out on a couple inside jokes the readers share.

Seeing my favorite book series on the big screen was even better than I imagined. Seeing the action that I had pictured in my mind acted out on screen was amazing!! I suggest you def read the books before seeing so you will understand some parts in more detail. The only thing I was a lil irked about was that they cut out a couple parts that were in the book, and it seemed like the movie was way to short! I could sit in a theatre for 4 hrs watching Twilight!!

As I waited in line, hundreds of adolescent girls waited for one of their most beloved novels to be translated to the big screen. After seeing the movie, I think I'll take the time to read the novels. Although campy at times (most noticeably during sequences of wirework running and jumping), the screenplay was written and acted out well enough to illicit an emotional connection to the main characters.
If you can get past the semi-emo demeanor of the main characters, the campy high school friends, and the low budget action sequences, there's a gem of a story and some good characters in this fun translation of a romantic fantasy novel. I suggest checking it out.

The actors did a really good job portraying the characters from the book. I thought book one was a bit slow but the movie definitely was not. Bella was a little more dark and mysterious in the movie than the clumsy loveable girl from the book. Edward was perfect. I am looking forward to the sequels!

Over all, the movie was good. It was really cheesy, but still good and many of the lines were taken from the book. I would definately suggest that you read the book before you see the movie because the movie takes away most of the "magic" of the book.

READ THE BOOK BEFORE SEEING THE MOVIE.
Okay, so the movies wasn't amazing but if you haven't read the book, I'd doubt seriously that you'd know what was happening. There were so many plot jumps and the movie really lost the sense of wonder and movement of the plot line.
Still, if you've read the book, you'll appreciate the characters and it's cool to see them in motion, instead of just in your head.
I'm just a bit partial to the movie because I loved the books so much...any fan I think could agree. A little awkward but still enjoyable...to a point.

waited in line for over 3 hours. the people in front of us kept bringing in more wierdos and more weirdos. there was 4 people to sart with then there was like 20! then the movie started. the acting...ugh please go back to acting school or something. some parts of the movie were ok but you basically missed the whole point of the books. BELLAS THOUGHTS. this movie goes to fast and hardly follows the storyline. a great disappointment. I cant believe how much money this movie is going to make...i think more than what its worth.

You have to pay attention to the movie as it seems to speed through the book which is understandable for the fact that you are trying to cram a big book into a 2 hr movie.With that being said I felt that w/ the time restriction Hardwicke did a great job at picking the most important parts out of the book to put this movie together.If you read the books then the movie will def be easier to follow for you.I also liked the way they ended the movie, showing the fans that there will be more movies following the other books.I am looking forward to seeing the movie again and hopefully this time the teens will be more respectful and quiet and I will have a better chance to sit down and really watch the movie.Twilight was a good movie def go see it.

I love the Twilight books, read them twice in two months and I was really disappointed. Maybe if you have never read the book, which is amazing, you might think the movie is good but I felt like it should have stayed a little closer to the book. And the flash back scenes were so dumb. I kind of felt like I was watching some made for televsion movie. I kept thinking why am I here at midnight I could be at home in bed.

Despite including many scenes from the book that fans will enjoy, there were issues. Some people questioned the movie's attempt to make some parts funny. There are humorous aspects to the book, but it wasn't the same. I did enjoy Charlie Swan’s humor. I think what was disappointing to some fans was how quickly things went- granted it's a movie, but what is so fundamental in the book is how slowly the relationship develops. Since the movie needed to speed things up to make it interesting, the relationship with Edward and Bella seems more trivial. I can't honestly say that I didn't enjoy the film. It might not win awards anytime soon, but if you enjoyed the book, you'll enjoy reliving parts of Twilight and seeing them visualized on screen.

If you have read the book, the movie is very very good. It is like watching the book come to life. You already know the characters, and to see them on the big screen is like Heaven. There are subtle lines and expressions that only people who have read the book would understand. I think it is missing a lot of details, but if they were included the movie would be 6 hours long. It is rushed, but satisfying. Go see it!!!

I thought that the director could have done a much better job with this. It had nothing to do with the actors looks or ability, I just got the sense throughout that the kids just didn't know how to convey the feelings (definitely all about the direction). You shouldn't have to read a book to "get it" in a movie.The characters were supposed to "blend in" with the humans, instead the bright red lipstick and white powder stood out so bad that all the audience could do was laugh, no one in their right mind would hire a doctor if he looked like Carlisle.Poor Rob, instead of looking in pain or "thirsty" he looked like he was having a spasm, the audience really laughed at the initial classroom scene. I'm so sad. :(

Wasn't completely true to the book, but I understand that the director only had 2 hours to get the point across. The overall idea stayed true to the book, with all the great scenes that we would expect to see. The director did have to merge different scenes from the book together into one scene a couple of times, but it didn't bother me. Overall I really enjoyed the effects and will see it again soon!!!

I love the Twilight series and thought the movie had a lot of potential to be great! However, there are a lot of things you won't understand unless you've read the book. Also, they focused too much time on insignificant parts of the book and not enough on the big parts. The first half of the movie was MUCH better than the second half, which was terribly corny. Half of the movie theater literally laughed out loud at a few parts because the lines were so ridiculous.

Movies are never better than books. Obviously. So I came into Twilight not expecting much. It did feel a little rushed and the love story seemed a little quick, but that's just due to movie time constraints. I went with a person who had read all the books and loved them, myself who was in the same position, and another friend who hadn't even ever heard of the Twilight series. We all walked out of the movie with the same reaction: giddy enchantment wondering when we could see the movie next. Is it cheesy? Yes. Is there some bad acting? Yes (although not from the main characters). But it's just really this incredible, sexy, beautiful journey.

The ultimate chic flick! Heterosexual men will definitely not enjoy this as much as heterosexual women will; Edward is 100% eye candy! For basic entertainment value, the movie is great fun! Very true to the book, which I read and enjoyed. It's definitely best to read the book(s) before seeing the movie. The casting was excellent; the scenery fabulous! I will see it again!

This movie was awesome! I loved every minute of it. I am an obsessed Twilight fan and I thought that the movie was better than many people's expectations. The actors did a wonderful job playing their parts and it stuck to the book more than 80%. I loved the extra scenes, it made the movie flow better and I think that this movie is great for everybody to see not just the people that read the books. Loved It!

My sister and I saw it at the midnight showing last night and first of all could not believe the amount of people that were there. We got there almost 4 hours before the movie started and we still had to sit and wait outside around the corner from the theatre. I just loved it! I felt the actors did a great job especially Rob Pattinson, he was the perfect person for Edward. I read all the books and loved them and now I've seen the movie and loved that too! The only thing I didn't like was that it wasn't long enough because it just seemed they had to skip through some parts that I wish they could have had more on. Great movie!

As a fan of the books, I only had one problem with the movie...the flow of the movie was too fast for me. Other than that I thought it was a good adaptaion from the book and it stayed true to it. I took a friend with me who hasn't read the books yet and she was got lost at some points during the movie; so I would recommand anyone intrested in seeing the movie to read the book FIRST.

This film is true to the book and overall, enjoyable. Could have used a bit more development of scenes, characters and situations --a la a Harry Potter type screenplay but overall, told the story.
Catherine Hardwicke needs to stay away from some of the quick moves on her tight close ups of crowds (MTV quick cut look). The location itself comes through well and doesn't need tricks. Plus we all want to see the characters!
Ballet studio scene was even better than previews hinted at and final film shot before the credits was really great!!!!!
Thanks for making this film and please continue the series!!!

I saw Twilight at 12:01 last night & it was incredible. The movie theater I went to had to open up four theaters for all the people who wanted to see it. I loved how the actors portrayed these characters who had only been in my head & did it so beautifully. The only thing I wish is that they would have gone into more detail about the connection between James and Bella in Alice's visions. Overall, I loved it. I'm probably going to see it again :]

I went last night for the midnight showing and with a group of friends. I LOVED seeing my favorite book come to life. It varies a bit from the book which had to happen to be able to portray the story in the limited time..but nothing major. I LOVE the prom scene..especially Jacob. Billy and Charlie are hilarious and the Cullens rock!! Rob does an amazing job portraying Edward and Kristen makes a great Bella. There is a great chemistry. I am going back tonight with my husband and then Monday with another friend. GO!! You'll love it!!
