the movie was really good, but not as good as the books. you should definately read the book before you see the movie or you probably won't like it at all. i loved jasper and the cullen family in the movie! the only downside was that the movie moved too fast. other than that, if you love twilight you need to see the movie :)

Well as you all know the Twilight movie came out today. I wasnt expecting it to be as good as the book , but I think that Catherine Hardwicke portrayed the book well. Even though she did leave out some very good parts of the book. I was upset that she left out the chapter "bloodtype" it was was my favorite chapter in the book. But other than the leaving out scenes I think that the movie was pretty good. I was asphyxiated when the Cullens made their first apperence. I loved the Twilight series and I really hope that they make movies for New Moon , Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.

I took my daughter and her friends to the midnight showing, they absolutely loved it. I thought it was really good, I just thought some parts moved too fast, but the book is long . If they kept everything in the movie would be too long! Will see it again with my younger daughter.

I enjoyed the movie, but please READ THE BOOK FIRST!! I thought it was beautifullly done, the cinematography was stunning. Some moments were not as I pictured them, but I was over-all very pleased with what was created. It was obvious the author had a hand in the development of the movie. I also loved the music in the movie, especially Bella's lullaby. And I was of course pleased with the fact that the entire cast was very very attractive :) GO TEAM EDWARD!! lol

I went in with low expectations, I knew that no hollywood adaptation could measure up to the images and experiences I created in my mind as I read the books. I was right, and therefore, not disappointed.
The acting was a pretty solid level of terrible. Edward grows on you, but the emotion that Bella experienced wasn't even touched in Kristen Stewart's interpretation.
There was a few pounds of cheese, and many moments that just simply lacked the excitement that Stephanie Meyer so briliantly penned.
The thing they got right... the first kiss. That made the movie for me. I was breathless from then on!
Overall, if you're a fan of the books, you HAVE to see the movie, it's worth it, but keep your hopes low!

The movie was a good one, whether you have read the books or not. it definately lived up to my expectations. There were some things (that I will not mention for spoiler reasons) that I thought were fairly corny, and one part that I did not like, but the rest were phenomenal. You really felt the motions of the characters, love, fear, wanting, etc. Very good movie to watch with 6 or 7 Twilight fans. ;)

I read all 4 of Stephenie Meyer's books and was taken away by the characters, the storyline, romance and action. I had been anticipating this movie since I found out that it was coming to the big screen.
The movie was a disappointment to me. I found that the chemistry between Bella and Edward was entirely absent. The whole essence of why I loved the story just wasn't there. They changed the story around in ways that didn't make sense even to someone who read all the books. The acting was mediocre, if that.
I left the theatre feeling sad, because I really wanted to love the movie. I will continue to be a fan of the books and will probably re read them just so I can recapture the purity of the story back to where I remember.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I thought this was a great movie that went along well with the book. You really should read the book before you watch the movie in order to understand some parts of it. They could have made it a little longer than what it was and not moved so fast through the scenes. Overall, though, this was an awesome movie and I can't wait until Eclipse comes out!

This movie was absolutely fantastic! I felt, while watching the movie, just as much involved and attached as I was when I read the book! The characters were casted amazingly, which really proved true after seeing them play out their roles. The subtle changes from the book were nothing drastic enough to change the story, and all the key points were included, making the avid Twilighter feel right at home!
Way to go! Fantastic depiction of the book! Can't wait for more movies!

I was really disappointed in the way this movie actually turned out. A lot of important parts were left out (like when she sees carslile in a picture with the Volturi) It felt unorganized and like it skipped around too much. A woman next to me hadn't read the book and was asking what was going on every five minutes because the story line of the movie was so poor. I think it did no justice to the wonderful, imaginative book that Stephanie Meyer wrote. The actors did a fairly well job of playing their parts although Alice, Jasper & Rosalie didn't fit the role as well as I thought they could have. I hope the next one is better and doesn't appear to be a low-budget film festival flick.

Twilight was awesome. I admit I was unsure of Robert portraying Edward....but he was GREAT.
While watching the movie you still get that excited feeling in the pit of your stomach that takes your breath away, just like when you are reading the book.
I will say, that I feel it left some things out, that in my opinion would have helped, or things that should have been explained more, example each of the Cullens. Several topics seemed to be touched, when they needed more depth. BUT that is what one would expect from reading a book and then watching the movie.
There is soooo much more to reading the books.
Waiting for the rest of the movies.......

I have to say that I was pleasently suprised at the movie. My only complaint about canon is that because Rob's Edward is slightly more animated than the book's, it's not as obvious they are *so* in love in the movie as it is in the books. Another five minutes of them building their relationship in the beginning could have solved that.
The horribly low budget hurt, too.
The actors were AMAZING.
I could go on but I'll leave it at this... I actually had more critiques for the movie than my friend who came with me who's never read the book. She had no complaints what so ever.
It's a good movie. And the next two DEMAND a higher budget!

Well first of all, just let me say YUMMY !! I dont know what all the fuss is about with R.Pat. who is playing Edward. He might not have had the best kissing scenes but damn he is fine!! I thought Kristen who played Bella was a little unemotional, I was expecting a little more from her. Over all I thought the movie was great but the book was better. Plus, the movie was missing parts that the book stressed to hold the storyline together. However, I already want to go see the movie again but perhaps a early time so I dont have to pay as much!!

I knew that the movie wouldn't compare to the book just for the fact that they are two different medias.
Anyway, after seeing the movie with my best friend, who also loves the books, we just looked at each other and LAUGHED. The movie was goofy.
Also, I felt they didn't develop the characters enough. Like had I not read the books a million times, I would be lost. I would be like so he left...came back...and now she's in love...a little too fast.
Furthermore, what was up with Edward's face when he first smelled her in Biology?! I couldn't stop laughing (and neither could the other audience members).
Oh well, I'm just going to have to read the book again to cheer me up! :)

This movie was the worst that I've seen in recent memory. The acting was absolutely abysmal -- particularly Edward's.
The filmography was amateurish. Whoever though it would be a great idea to have sweeping, rotational camera pans in *every scene*: It wasn't. All it did was make the movie feel even more contrived and trite than it already was.
Finally, the special effects were truly lacking. I'd put them on-par with the effects of the "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" TV series. Those kind of effects were great 10 years ago for a TV series, but seriously: It's almost 2009.
I'm sure this movie will do very well financially due to the hordes of teenage girls who will undoubtedly see it. However, as a film, it simply fails.

You have to know that a movie will never live up to the expectations you have for it in movie form. The negatives are that the writers try to make Bella and Edward into these "hip" teenagers. In the book they seem to come across as old souls. Another thing lacking in the movie format is the great character development. I know some things have to go, but I really would have liked to have seen a bit more in the development of Edwards character. The positives are that I think that the producers cast the actors well. With a few exceptions for bad dye jobs on hair, the people chosen to recreate the characters were well thought out. I hope you will enjoy. I am sure it will be a blockbuster.

My mom and I have both read the books and it has become kinda of an inside joke between us. We are both huge fans and I actually went with her to the midnight showing. To be honest I thought the film was one of the best adaptations from a book I have seen. I thought it was funny and dramatic and intense. I would really recommend seeing especially for a girls' night out maybe.

Went and saw the midnight premiere and it was amazing. The actors all did a great job at portraying the essence of their characters. Kristen did a great job at catching her obsessivness with Edward. Rob did a good job with Edward although it took a lil while to get used to because (even in the book) of the awkwardness of the relationship itself. It is definetly reccomended that you read the books before the movie it would help a lot! The movie did go by a little fast and a lot of really good scenes were not put it in, but you can still figure out whats going on. If you are a twilighter its definetly worth going to see.

This movie was amazing. I had been trying to keep my expectations low because I knew it would never be the way I saw it in my head. Even in trying to keep my expectations minimal, the movie surpassed the super high expectations I had been trying to suppress. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone with a love for the books!

This was such a disappointment for me, who has read all 4 books. The set was great and compostion of the film was great. Too much of the movie came off as corny like many of the looks from Jasper and Edward, they looked like a comedy show instead of a dramatic movie. I wasn't expecting Oscar awards here but to live up to how amazing the the books were written this was a let down.

I enjoyed the fact that the movie followed closely with the book- it was a good set up for the world that Edward and Bella find themselves living in. There were a few moments that would be lost on you if you hadn't read the book, but it didn't necessarily deter from the movie.
The actors stayed in character well and were believeable, especially Billy and Charlie- you believed there was a long, strong established relationship there. The humour was well timed as well.
4 out of 5. Good, clean, harmless, vampire fun.

We all been waiting so long for this movie to come out, finally i was seating in an excellent seat waiting for Twilight to start.
I absolute love the movie it was funny, sweet, romantic, and it contain some very exiting action scenes. Even thought it was incredibly different from the book it was great and it worked.
I did have an issue with it looking like it was rushed i was like (wow it needs to slow down) and some scenes i would change, but other than that its amazing! go watch it just read the book first.....

I agree You must read the book before you see the movie. There were alot of funny parts that would not have made sense without reading. It was cast awsome!! The storyline was right on with the book. Tons of lines and quotes right from the book. It did not wavier from the book at all. This is the first book to movie I have seen that I was not dissappointed. I usually think about what was different with the book as the movie is playing. I did not think that at all. My husband went with me and did not read the book. He also really liked it. Which surprised me! Since some of it was a twilight thing and he would not understand. I am going to see it again in the theater and buy the dvd.

And I was worried.From beginning to end it was as good,or better than I imagined.The chemistry between ALL the actors,and thusly the characters, is XACTLY what it should b. It's a dream come true.Aside from a few minor querks & winks,I believe the vast majority can completely understand & enjoy this film.The only caution I would give is that some moments will seem over the top,if you don't understand that the emotions & senses within the characters' worlds R so extremely intense.Especially 4 the main characters, this is THE BIGGEST change in their lives.It seems over the top because IT IS.
And guys,it's not just for "chicks",if you're anyone but someone who's looking 4 a bad movie SEE THIS MOVIE. IT IS AWESOME.

This movie was very good, everything moved right along and there were never any boring parts. However, if you read the book first it was very disappointing because it felt like it jumped from one chapter to the next without having any substance to just one. However, the characters were cast perfectly and they each played their role spectacularly. One suggestion is to read the book first so you can understand what is going on in the movie. And if you are a twilight fanatic and looking for a movie that is exactly like the book you will be disappointed
