After reading the Twilight series,the movie did not live up the books in any way. They left out a lof of days didn't emphasize the relationship and commitment between Edward and Bella or the relationship of Bella and Charlie. There just weren't enough scenes with detailed bits of the story.They should have made it about 3 hrs to squeeze everything that should have been in there instead of trying to make it shorter. Overall it was a good movie. Also, Robert Pattinson is a good actor, but he tried way too hard to hide his glorious accent. it made him sound like he had a speech impediment. i just think they could have taken more time to do the movie and make it really good, just like the books.
All in all, it was enjoyable.

I am sorry but if you have read the saga then unfortunatly the movie falls short. They missed key points in Bella and Edwards relationship and did not focus on that enough. Although I did really like the chemistry that Bella and Edward have that is why I read all the books.
The casting on this film was done well every charactor was exactly how I imagined them in my head. I enjoyed the way the film was shot and I really liked the way they spoke. Another thing I will say is they paired the music well.
I am just sad that it was not more like the book, I understand it is a movie and they must make adjustments but I felt they did too much and it took away the books magic. I just hope they do better with New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn!

Given that everyone sees the books and characters differently in their own minds, and that they had to fit such a masterpiece into a two hour film, I would say that this Twilight the movie is a huge success. That being said, there were parts that set me off, but only because I am far too picky when it comes to Twilight. They ventured away from the book in quite a few parts, but overall I can't wait to see it again!

I am a 58 year old grandmother of 9, and my 13 year old granddaughter turned me on to this series of books. Once I read the first chapter of the first book, I was hooked! So, we were there last night for the official opening of the movie, and I was thrilled with it! But, I do have to agree that unless you read the book first, you will miss so much! The scenery is awesome! The chemistry of the actors is fantastic! It is just a wonderful movie to escape to!

I went to Twilight with both my teenagers. We had all read the book prior to going which helped. It moved smoothly and wasn't inappropriate. The beginning set the storyline really well. There were many funny parts that everyone laughed at. All the teen girls in the audience screamed with excitement when Edward first came on screen. James was awesome in the ballet studio. My daughter wants to go again and my son is thinking about it.

I was stoked when I saw this movie last night. James was as disgusting as I pictured, they made Edward as amazing as he is supposed to be and I really liked who they picked for Bella. Can't wait for the next one to come out, this made me want to reread the books.
(The Harry Potter trailer is just before it too, so HP fans will get a double-whammy when they see it).

I'm a fairly big fan of the Twilight books and was worried about how they were going to make this movie seem real. They succeeded, however, by making it seem just the opposite. All of the corny lines and silly reactions of the characters to each other made it impossible not to laugh. This movie was lighthearted fun--I loved it. Props to Kristen Steward and Robert Pattinson, and all of the other cast members, for making this movie dazzle.

My friend turned me on to the books and i thought she was overeacting about how good they were but i was obsessed instantly!!!!The movie was great wish it had more stuff from the book but overall i loved it!Just to watch Edward and Emmett was a treat in itself!:)I think with the budget they had they did what they could. I thought the movie was SO GOOD. Sure, there were parts that were not strictly to the book, but you should have known that would happen. I loved the parts that were added and the parts that were not included made sense. I thought everyone did a wonderful job with the acting and everything lived up to my expectations. I cant wait to see it again and CANT WAIT FOR NEW MOON MOVIE!!

It was horrible, seriously, I felt awkward just watching it. Sure Edward's great if you want a creeper of a boyfriend. It was poorly written and directed and acted. It made me laugh out loud, but not when I was supposed to.

I have read the whole Stephanie Meyers Twilight Series. The movie lived up to my expectations but I do have to agree, it moved to fast from scene to scene and the movie was to short !!!
But isn't that what all of us Twilight fanatics say ??

Because chivalry is not dead, and forbidden love is always something that grabs our attention !!!

It's hard for any Twilight Saga fan to write an unbiased review of the movie. That being said, I don't think that the average movie goer will appreciate this movie as much as the book fans. It is obvious that the director capitalized on the Edward Effect -- the longing looks, the slow mo shots -- all of which are worth my price of admission alone, but not for someone coming off the street out of curiosity. The books are always better, which is definitely the case here. Most scenes may come off corny to some, but for the true fans, having the book come to life on the big screen is worth every minute of this 2-hour movie! :-0

I honestly have to say the only really bad thing I didn't like about Twilight was that it wasn't long enough. I knew they would have to leave a few things out and maybe move some things around. I have been thru enough Harry Potter premiers to know this much. But I went into the theater with this exact thought in mind. I was not going to judge this movie at all the first time I saw it and now that I have seen it I probably still won't judge it too much. I was very happy with it. I did miss my favorite line " Do I dazzle you" though. All in all it was worth the wait. How much can you complain with two hours of Rob on a big screen like that?

Where to start, I guess if you see the movie without reading the book, this might an average interpretation of the movie. However if you have read the books and know the story the movie might be disappointing. The movie shows very little of the true essence of Twilight. Maybe New Moon will be better. We will see.

I liked the movie, but i thought the casting was very poorly done. Edward is supposed to be flawless and he shouldnt have a FAKE american accent and he is supposed to dazzle and he is supposed to be graceful. I thought Rob Pattinson did a bad job being Edward, he was awkward and ugly and he couldnt suppress his accent enough. Besides the fact that Rob Pattinson couldnt act, the movie wasnt detailed enough, it didnt explain enough of what vampires are and what they can do. The movie was decent, but the book is so many thousands of times better and i would tell everyone to read the book and not judge the movie without reading the book first.

If you have read the books, you WILL be disappointed. The first half was stilted by poor acting and a script that just didn't flow right. The film makers tried to get all the key scenes in but it was like they were trying to pare it down due to time contraints so it comes off as disjointed. The second half was much better, especially the baseball and Prom scenes. I would recomend this movie, but wait until the teeny boppers go back to school.

I believe that a movie can never surpass a book. However, this movie was well done and it was very entertaining. It moved very fast and a lot of details that I enjoyed from the novel were left out from the movie. Overall there were some adorable parts, funny parts, scary parts, and unfortunately, some awkwards moments. But overall, I enjoyed the movie and it was well worth it going to the midnight premier.

Don't worry. As a person who has never picked up a Twilight series book, I found this movie to be absolutely amazing. It's terrific! So, if you haven't read the book yet, it's okay. You will still want to go see this movie! However, now I'm definitely tempted to read the stories. They sound pretty amazing.

The movie was outstanding! Every scene was excellent. If you read the book, chances are you are going to LOVE the film. Some things have been cut out but all in all it was great, Better than batman. Kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.Nothing was overlooked. I just wish the movie was longer and had more character in depth.

Pleasantly surprised at how it followed the book without any major deviations I can recall. Well worth seeing at midnight, except for the preview for "The Unborn" (looks HIDEOUS.)
I do wonder how it would go for those who haven't read the book - they didn't seem to give as many "dumb" explanations like were done in the first couple of Harry Potter movies for non-readers to catch up to speed.
I almost like the movie better as it's not all presented from inside Bella's mind like the book, where she won't stop talking about how gorgeous Edward is and how ugly she feels... etc. Bella's quite likable in the movie - and Kristen Stewart did a really good job.
I think it was worth the $10 easy... Enjoy.

I've seen alot of movies made from books I've read, and this one was the most well done, and true to the original.
It was funny and Rob did and amazing job as Edward, really captured the torture he was going through inside. If you haven't read the books, at least go on the author's web site and read a couple chapters of Midnight Sun which is Twilight, from Edwards perspective. You'll catch way more if you've read the book.

I read the book before I went. I was kind of disappointed. Their wasn't enough dialect, it moved to fast, no history was explained, it wasn't supposed to be funny, certain parts in the book weren't in the movie that I found to be important, certain parts of the movie happened before what happened in the book, but the lines from that part of the book were said after that scene had happened, they changed to much stuff. I just think as the writer of the book, I would be disappointed at how the movie was portrayed. It definitely was not all the hype that they made it out to be. It was a good movie, but not what I thought.

Of course, I had already read the book. I went with my 3 girls: 16, 14, and 11 for the midnight showing. We all loved it. I was afraid I would be bored and tired but was mesmorized from beginning to end. At first, the makeup on Edward was a little much, but this is not a reality based story. I thought the characters were well played and storyline followed very closely to the book. My overcritical daughter pointed out inconsistencies like Bella having a cell phone and Apple computer and the nice cars driven by the other students and Cullens. Great movie...I would watch it again.

I've been a fan of these books for a long time!! I saw the midnight showing and thought it was great but today I went to see it again... to really take everything in and I thought it was AMAZING. I wasn't a fan of the the acting for the first 30 mins but it gets better. Rob Pattinson is simply flawless in this movie he is just BeautifuL.
