I love the Twilight series. If you knew me, you would understand that. However, the movie disappointed me so much it's really sad. I was super excited to watch this movie. I thought it was directed horribly, there were so many bloopers and it was too choppy. It jumped from scene to scene. The movie didn't build any relationships except for Bella and Edward's. And even that was rushed. And all of my favorite scenes in the book were skipped in the movie. Ugh! There were just so many things that I didn't like. The beginning was too long and the mother, to me, took part in the movie too much. I was really annoyed and frustrated throughout the movie. And that's all I'm going to say for now because I can keep going on about this.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Before I saw the movie I thought that they didn't do a good job of choosing the actors. After watching it, I realize that they made perfect choices. They followed the book as close as they could and still keep it short. You have to remember that they are condensing one year into two hours. I really loves it. The stunts were awesome. Even if you haven't read the book you can follow the story. They touch all important details leaving the viewer interested and entertained. I highly recommend this movie to anyone with a love for fantasy, love, or even just fans of movies. Enjoy! I did.

I thought it was great. the casting was awesome and a lot of the scenes were really good including the baseball and ballet studio scenes. I feel as though they put so much work into those that some of the smaller scenes which are the best in the book were left by the wayside. I felt that Edward and Bella needed more time one on one with more romance, cause face it, thats what we all love about the books. so i was a little disappointed in that but overall a really great adaptation. books will always be better but this is one of the best adaptations i've seen in awhile. can't wait for the sequels! P.S. Rob Pattinson is a perfect Edward. EXACTLY as I imagined him while reading the books :)

I really enjoyed the movie! I would agree with the other individuals who said read the book first. I am somewhat obsessed with the books so it was enjoyable to see it put upon screen! When you see the movie, keep in mind that it isn't the same from the book. They said we are making Twilight the movie, not Twilight the book-movie. Catherine Hardwicke collaborated and Stephenie Meyer approved of it. Things will be changed and left out and that is just how it is. It is difficult to take on a project with such a high expectation attatched to it. I felt the cast as a whole captured the essence of the novel. Some dazzling performances! I will be seeing it at least one more time in theatres and I can't wait to see New Moon!!!

it is best if you read the book first, otherwise, the jokes are gonna go over your head. but since i did read the book, and LOVED it, the movie was AMAZING and surprisingly funny! Robert Pattinson was soooo good, and look really good, too, and people who think he isn't good looking enough have to remember that he is supposed to be really gorgeous, which he definitely was, but scary, and Robert has the ability to be both. Jessica and Mike were really good, too, as was Charlie, and basically the whole cast. I wish it had been longer; it seemed to go by so fast! and i wish there had been more of the cullens! it was stil great, though, and twilight fans should NOT be disapppointed.Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go watch it again... :D

Fairly true to the book, especially in the campier, artistic feel of the movie. Even though this movie is huge, it didn't feel like we were watching an overproduced blockbuster. Rob Pattison grew on us all--my 7th grade daughter, her friend and me--as the right choice for Edward, thought we'd all had our doubts.

I read the books and waited for the movie. I was happy with the first three books--not so with "Breaking Dawn". "Twilight" the movie was good, but I feel director/screenwriter left out some details like some of Bella's observations and her becoming comfortable with the Cullens.

I had really high expectations going to see the movie, and was let down. There were a lot of parts only Twilight readers understood, I was confused most of the time, however; there were some humorous scenes. The movie was not bad I will see it again, but after I have read the book.

I am a huge fan of the book. The movie was a little rushed from scene to scene in parts, but you can't include everything. They included some of my favorite specific quotes. The chemistry between edward and bella is perfect, although bella is a little fragile for twilight. In my opinion, she needs to save that for new moon. Overall, it was definitely worth it.

Never read the book, but my best girl is obsessed, so I treated her 12 year old butt to the midnight showing on Thursday. Expected to fall asleep, but how could I have. It was pretty good and full of that angst-ridden love that some of us have been lucky to have. I would recommend any female to see it, and if you are lucky enough to have a cool guy in your life, he'll go too. Can wait to see the rest of the movies.

Some diehard fans of the books may be avoiding the movie adaption of Twilight because they're worried it will be too different. Well, DON'T! While the movie wasn't 100% with the book, it stayed very true to it and as a diehard fan myself, I was very pleased. The acting was wonderful, both touching and at times humorous. The movie was also very visually appealing, with beautiful shots of the Pacific Northwest and awesome special effects. I'm recommending this one to everyone I know!

Kristin nailed Bella's character perfectly! Robert as Edward was good most of the time...didn't portray Edward quite right to me.. The special effects of the flying were lame. Wish Alice and Bella's friendship could have been developed more. Loved the kiss!

If you are a fan of the book written by Stephenie Meyer, then you will fall for Bella & Edward on screen. Okay, don't get me wrong, this is in no way the worst movie ever made. However, as much as Rob looks the part, his acting in the first half of the movie is very forced. Things that shouldn't have been funny were because of delivery.
Once they played baseball, the movie changed. The last half was really well done.
The only other thing was unless you have read the book (which most have) you miss important things.
I hope they make the second movie, and I hope they make it very similar to the last half of this movie otherwise it may fail.

The movie had so many discrepancies from the book, it wasn't even close in several situations. For someone who has read this book, the movie will be a horrible let down. However, it was decent for those who had only heard the basic storyline without reading the book. Several chapters in the book were missing from the movie, and so many things were just wrong... I was horribly disappointed.

I saw the moive at the midnight release and enjoyed it throughly however, I couldn't help wondering if I would have been able to follow the story had I not read the books. There were many instances where the audience laughed because they knew a character's motivation behind an action. If you had not read the books your reason for laughing may have been quite different. Critics seem to think the audience is laughing due to bad acting which is not the case! If you read the books and loved them I think you will enjoy the movie. It was true to the concept of the book and a fantastic escape. I think you could still appreciate the movie having not read the books but it would be a much more satisfying experience if you had.

I waited in line for 6 hours to watch this movie. Was it worth the wait? Definatly. I went into this movie knowing that it wouldn't be as great as the book because let's face it... there is no way you can put so many details into a 2 hour movie. There were little parts that I thought they could have done a lot better, but considering the low budget they were on I think they did a great job.

Some things were not great (but what book movie ever lives up to the fan expectations) I went to the theater thinking, yes I'm going to like this. And I was very satisfied with most of it. Of course a lot of the character development and the development of Bella and Edwards romance was left out, but they were still really cute. The actors were not half bad, they were way to cute not to enjoy. Some acting was sub-par, but it wasn't bad enough to dislike the movie. The only thing i didn't like was the CGI and Special Effects. Sometimes they made the vampires look like weird superheros rather than the vampires we all fell in love it. Overall, for pre-existing twilight fans and curious movie goers, I do recommend this and hope you enjoy it.

I have read the whole series a few times, as well as Midnight Sun. It wasn't AS GOOD as the books, but movies rarely are. I felt Edward showed up Bella as far as acting goes. The Cullen clan was my favorite. They played off eachother perfectly! I'm excited to see what they'll be able to do will a larger budget!! Overall, it was fun to see it brought to life on film.

Phenomenal! It follows very closely to the book, though as all Hollywood renditions of a book, there are differences but these are so subtle that they make no difference to the quality of the movie. I would strongly recommend it to any fan of the book.
