Though I have not read the book(s), I thought this movie was excellent. Only complaint though is that this movie was advertised for teens. I am not a teen but I still enjoyed it. I am looking forward to the sequel.

I don't think I've ever walked out of a movie and felt such an overwhelming wave of disappointment. I sat through the whole thing, mouth agape in shock at one of the most pathetic attempts at acting I've ever witnessed. Not to mention the lame "I am so deep with my teenage/monstrous angst". Granted, I'm in my late twenties so I'm not exactly this movie's target audience, but even if I were to jump in a time machine & go back a decade & watch this movie - I still would have felt this strange combination of feeling swindled out of 8 bucks and needing a shower.
Don't waste your money, & when it comes to TV, don't waste the space on your TIVO hard drive.

I was hoping for so much better than I got with this movie. The acting of the two main characters was painful to watch. Did they read the books? Did the director and screenwriter read the books? It's doubtful, because if they did, this movie would have been much different than it was. Bottom line, this movie failed to even scratch the surface of the story it was supposed to portray. I will say though that I did like the scenery, the music, Edward when he wasnt speaking, Bella when she wasnt speaking, the truck, and Jacob was okay apart from the terrible hair extensions. Everything else was a big fat bomb. Chris Weitz, please do a better job with New Moon!

This movie was good, all the actors were excellent and had a chemistry that is rarely seen. I fell in love with Edward and Bella, and this is the point the author and producer had in mind with the film. We all felt the pain Edward was in for wanting Bella and wanting to stay away from her. Great film!! I saw it 7 times already!!

this movie was really good although i would've appreciated more action! i wish i could see it everyday...i want it on dvd right now!! i'm concerned about the next one though, from production issues, to story line (I've not read the book), i hope the next movie will be a success. hopefully edward and bella have enough scenes together that we won't miss out on them.

I must have set my expectations too high. The movie doesn't do the book any justice. It doesn't portray the real connection between Edward and Bella. If they were going to leave scenes out of the movie, they should not have added pointless scenes that don't exist in the book. I did love all the actors chosen. I hope Jasper doesn't seem like Edward Scissorhands in the 2nd movie. And I really hope they find a better screenwriter for New Moon.

Have you ever heard a woman scream? You know, the high-pitched, squeaky kind, like they somehow wound up at a Jonas Brothers concert? Multiply that by the number of seats in a theater (minus one), and do it in a sealed room.
Every. Single. Time. A new character would walk on scream, and they'd shriek.
The plot was corny, the animation was mediocre and the fan-girls were loud. I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone I care about.

If I hadn't read the books first, I would think this movie was pretty great, but unfortunately, I DID read the books first and I was rather disappointed in how rushed the movie seemed. The creators of the movie need to realize that if someone buys a 600 someodd page book, they expect the movie to be long as well. Even the first Harry Potter (and that book was smaller than Twilight by almost half) got 2 1/2 hours run time. Three hours would have been better. BOTTOM LINE: If you haven't read the books, see the movie FIRST. You'll enjoy it more.

I really enjoy this movie so much that I have seen it 2 more times. I liked the story line, but I don't think this movie should be considered a horror. It should be a romantic drama. I hope to see a sequel and I hope the same characters will star in it. Keep up the good work..

I was deeply entranced by this movie! I love the intensity between Bella & Edward and had to watch it twice in a row. I recently bought the book set just to see what's in store for them. I have been telling my family and friends about this movie since I first saw it. I have seen it 4 times already and planning on seeing it again this weekend. I finally got my husband to watch it with me after a long time of him complaining that it's a "chick flick" but then I got him hooked as well! lol.take a chance if it's not your usual style of movie choice, it will surprise you! There's humor, passion, action, intensity, love (but not the mushy kind, either), and intelligence in this movie which catches the eye to all.

Let me say that I never read the book so I can't compare as many people have. I thought it was a good movie but was dissapointed in the climax scene or it would have gotten 5 stars. Definitely sets up sequel as others have mentioned. Well worth the ten bucks to go see it though.

I've read all of the books multiple times and I still loved the movie just not as much as the books. I absolutely loved the whole cast of Twilight and thought they were all perfect. Although some of the characters like Laurent and Charlie were not how I expected them to be in the movie, both actors did a pretty nice job of portaying the characters in the book. I know the producers didn't have much money for the filming and such, but they did a nice job working with what they had. I also thought Rob Pattinson + Kristen Stewart were casted perfecty for Edward and Bella, and they seemed to have a real chemistry on set, as well as off.

I have read all of the books, and twilight the movie is nothing like twilight the book. It was way to crammed together. The scenes were not consistent with the book. The leading man(Edward) was a huge dissapointment. He is not attractive at all. The Edward in the book is supposed to look like a God; the hottest male u have ever seen. Ya, not even a grain of sand close. Bella is not as pretty as she should be either. I found the movie very dumb compared to the book. If u have not read the book u may like it... I DID NOT!

I'm a fan of the books, and while the movie didn't follow them very well, what novel-based movie does? Though the plot developed a bit too quickly, it was a good movie and a fun diversion. And I can't lie -- those vampires are definitely easy on the eyes. Highly recommend it.

She sent me the book anyway....
I opened it with a sigh of disgust...
And finished the 495 + page book in less than 24 hours (much to my husband's annoyance).
48 hours later- as my library is filled with 750 books mostly from 17th & 18th century authors... my son is currently getting dressed as I am forcing him to go with me to see Twilight - "Come play with me."

I read the book "Twilight" in 6 hours on Saturday, and drug my husband to the movie on Sunday. There were minor differences between the movie and book, but it was great to put faces to the characters! I really enjoyed the movie, and am looking forward to the movie coming out on video!

I have read all of the books and recommend them all.After reading the book the movie was awful at first.After I saw the movie for the third time, I have seen it a total of eight times, i realize that i am judging the movie and its character upon the way I had the book in my mind.I set the book out of my mind and purly for its self and not the book, then I found out that this is an amazing movie.The actors put a ton of effort and whoever said that they are terrible actors are wrong.It takes much practice, effort, and talent to convey those emotions.Expecially on Robert Pattinson's part(Edward).Kristen Stewart(Bella) did also an outstanding job.All-in-all it is an amazing movie, but is not very comprehensible to the book.

I dragged my teenager with me who really didn't want to see it. We both walked out loving it! I was worried that it would be different from the book however the differences were minor and they worked.

That said (the title), we actually enjoyed the movie. The brooding male lead vampire, the lovesick human girl who wants to be with him forever; it was an entertaining experience. They put a couple small twists on the traditional vampire legends, the special effects weren't bad. The good vs bad (vampires) part of the story could have been better written. The setup for the sequel was obvious; I'm just wondering when it will come out. I think we'll probably go to see it.

i think twilight could have been way better.
i love the books an the characters especially Edward,but in the movie Edward looks HORRIBLE.an when he sparkles.it looks like sweat.
