This movie was really good. I was worried before it came out that they might venture too far from the book. I was very happily surprised to find that it followed it rather closely. Of course they couldn't put everything in it but I believe they hit all the key points. I went to it three times on it's first day. I absolutely love it! I'd definately recomment to anyone who's read the book.

I thought the movie was very good. If you have read the books you will definitely notice the gaps in the movie, however I feel that Summit did a great job adapting the book into a movie. I also just heard that an announcement was made by Summit today that they will be making the sequel New Moon. If it is anything like Twilight, which I think New Moon will be even better due to the special effects needed for the storyline, all of us fans will have much to be looking forward to.

I went in knowing that the movie was going to be different from the book...
After seeing it ... I loved it!! it was amazing!! I went to see it at midnight with my brother, cousin and friend... and we all loved it! I really think that Catherine Hardwicke did a great job with the movie... especially because they didn't have much money to begin with. I would definitely recommend seeing this movie!! I convinced my mom ( who hasn't read ANY of the books) to go and see it... i described it to her and she said that she REALLY wants to go and see it now!! =D

Sadly I was extremely disappointed in this movie! I am a huge fan of Stephenie Meyer and my review in no way reflects on her as a writer, but seriously the movie was AWFUL!!!!! It was painful to watch these actors try to be "intense". I'm not sure if it's poor acting or poor directing. I unfortunately wasted my time and money on going to see this. Probably the only decent part of this whole movie was seeing Stephenie in a cameo role. So my advice to whoever is reading this is wait until it comes out as a rental and maybe even then reconsider! I still love Stephenie Meyer!!

This was an excellent movie. If you are a fan of the book you will definately love it. If you have not read the books you may not fully understand it, but you will still enjoy the movie. I think I enjoyed it just as much as my teen daughter and her friends.

I feel like they did not capture the characters' personalities well enough. I thought that the story was choppy. I feel like if I wouldn't have read the book that I wouldn't have known what was going on. They should have added another 45 min to an hour to the movie to really get the characters down & fill in the plot a little more.

I loved the book Twilight but I wasn't sure how good the movie was going to be based on the previews but I was very impressed! It was much better than I expected. Edward and Bella's characters were great for the rolls. I went to the midnight preview and again 2 days later...yeah it's that good! Obviously it wasn't as good as the book but that is just impossibile. Also, my husband went and he really liked the movie also so it isn't just for girls.

It was very entertaining and the movie was close to the book. Some of the dialogue was directly from the book. My sister thought it was just a thing but now she is totally obsessed with Twilight, too. Twilight is the Best Movie EVER. I heart Twilight.

The movie was okay as long as you saw it as a movie and not an adaptation to the book. If you were truly a book fan then you would have saw that Bella was nothing like the her movie actor. The movie also had a tendency to make me laugh when it wasn't suppose to be funny. But for the most part it was a great movie but not a great movie to represent the book.

I loved the movie. It was romantic, funny and almost everything the book had. I say almost because if it would have included every detail, the movie would've been about 3 hours or so. I can't wait for the sequels :)

Really liked the movie, but if your one of those who is looking for a play-by-play of the book don't see it. The book (as always) was better but hey, they only had 2 hours to tell the story. I will probably buy it on dvd and see the sequels.

Books are always better than movies, you can't deny it. Twilight was the best movie I ever saw but the book was still better. The book included all of the scenes where the movie changed/cut/shortened some of them. I give it a 5 star rating because it was of course amazing but they also put a twist on it. Instead of it being this dramatic romance movie, they added a little bit of comedy to it. People who read the book probably get it but I'm not sure about the people who havent. Out of all the characters, Alice was perfect. Her hair, her voice and her personality were exactly how I pictured it. I love Edward and Robert too but overall Alice was perfect. I can't wait until New Moon comes out:-)

If you are a fan of the book you will love the movie. The movie is as about as close to the book as can be, many direct quotes from the book are used in the movie. The actors fit very well into the characters, especially Bella and Edward. The photography and look of the film is gorgeous. I can not wait for the next movie as I am sure this one will make plenty of money. Saw it on opening night and went back the next day to see it again.

I brought my teenage daughter and two of her friends with their mother to this movie. The girls have read the entire book series. Their mother and I have not. Despite this difference, we all agree, this was a great movie. Although, not having read the book, some insinuations are lost on the audience. I would recommend reading the book first to get the full effect. One downfall....the vampire "dad" was way too pale.

I thought this movie was very well put together. There were a few things that definitely were changed from the book; however, I thought that they did a good job of making the book look like it was written from one person's point of view kind of life a documentary of shorts. The characters playing Bella and Edward did an incredible job in making sure that the weird relationships they had in the beginning-uncomfortableness and all. This movie is a must see and is one of the few I would go and see again at the theater!

This movie lived up to it's expectations! I'm also surprised that the plot wasn't totally massacred either. Though the beginning was kind of slow and the end was rushed, like the fight scene. It was simply amazing, though I could've been good without the crazed screaming for every person who entered the screen. Great job Cathy & Stephanie, your work will be forever cherised, along with Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner :D

Overall, it was a good movie. Although I did not like Catherine Hardwicke's adaptation of the novel. The movie seemed as though it skipped from scene to scene. It did not flow smoothly, and if you didn't read the book already you would definately be lost. The movie was made as if everyone in the world had already read the book. I would like to see it again, I think that maybe I will get a better feel for it. It didn't seem sincere enough. But with all of that being said, I did like the movie itself, but only beccause I had already read the book. I feel like alot of important information was left out of the movie that needed to be there and could have been used in the place of more nonchalant scenes.

I went to this movie with my 16 year old not expecting the best since many books are ruined when turned into movies but I was quite shocked that it was done so well. Being an ex-English teacher not only did I enjoy the book but the movie did it justice. It is a definite must see for anyone of any age. If the rest of the movies are as good as the books then this is a series I will definitely be waiting for.

I was so disappointed in this movie!!!!
Of course I absolutely loved the books and hope desperately that Stefanie Meyers continues to write Edwards version in her new book (PLEASE continue your new book Stefanie).
I just don't think they could portray the characters to true form from the book.

Ok, normally, i can't stand movies based on books, because the books are always better. And yeah, the book was amazing. But the movie was great too, on a different level. Edward was stunning, as we knew he should be, and the sexual tension between he and Bella was so intense, my heart was racing, and you are just begging him to kiss her. The whole movie left me with that warm gooey feeling you get after a first kiss. Kudos.
