I was hopeful with the opening montage. The relationship of Victor and Logan is introduced in the credits with amazing story-telling ability. Beyond that, Jackman's direction from Hood was apparently: "Now use your claws and be ANGRY!"I admit the majority of the film entertained, but at the end of it I felt letdown. All the elements were there, yet they never come together to create a compelling film. Relationships are cliche, performances are either underwhelming or laughably over-the-top. The effects fail to impress, especially for a huge budget blockbuster expected to have innovative and striking visuals. Hood and designers were evidently too lazy, or relied too heavily on the loyalty of fans to quibble about such things as "quality."
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I enjoyed this movie, I really did. It just required a bit more suspension of disbelief than most comic movies. The action in this film does not disappoint. There were some cheezy and over-the-top moments. The story is a mixture between what we expected to see based on the X-movies and the Wolverine Origin story from the comics. It makes sense in the confines of what's already been established, even if it does stretch credulity a bit. All in all, it was enjoyable to watch. If you agree to accept some characters acting inconsistent with their comic book counterparts, a disappointingly small amount of screen time for Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Kitsch, and an overly polished feel to the film, there is a lot to love about this movie.

While a fun Summer movie, a lot of action-not a lot of plot, Wolverine disappoints on the fan level. When will movie studios learn that they need to stay loyal to the comics to appease the fan base. What they did with Deadpool is a shame. If this was a vehicle to make a sequel, bad idea? A Deadpool movie? Worse idea.

I enjoyed the movie alot. It ties up a lot of loose ends from the previous X-Men movies. A group of firends went to see the midnight showing and they all mentioned that they liked the movie. It was worth stating up late to see it.

I went to the midnight show last night to see it. It definately lived up to my expectations. I really didn't know much about Death Pool but now I do and it's a really compelling story. My husband said that this movie was very true to the comic and thats always good. In other X MEN movies things were always changed like Pheonix killing Cyclops which never happened. I actually hope they will do movies about the other XMEN as well. I really loved how hot Hugh Jackman looked. I wasn't bored and it was a very compelling movie.

I have always been intrigued by Wolverine and this movie finally answered all of the questions about him: who is he, how did he become what he is and why does he not remember any of it. There was a nice mix of action, amazing special effects and drama, with a touch of humor. I don't know how true to the comic the story is since my only experience with X-Men was the cartoon but I feel the movie tried to stay true to the concept of a comic. We also get to see a few of our favorite X-Men in what I assume is foreshadowing for the upcoming movies. I highly recommend this movie to all. You don't need to have any prior knowledge to follow the film just bring an open mind, sit back and enjoy.

4 a Movie that had 2 connect all 3X-MEN movies together, I say they did a great job because that is hard in itself since the first X-MEN didn't go well with me. I did enjoy all 3 but, not as much as I enjoyed WOLVERINE. In part, Jackman is a big part of the reason why the movie in my point of view did so well. Yes the movie did have some flaws but, I understand that they were trying to connect all movies together. In that saying, I was totally disapointed with the character DEADPOOL and I though they could have done a much much better job with that character and it disappointed. Over all. Great movie I Would recomend
there is a very short scene after credits it was a very not need unnessecery scene that the movie could have done with out.

This is a fun flick. While it does have its flaws it is a really fun film. Hugh Jackman IS wolverine and the new cast of characters was great especially Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson. I just wish there was more of him. I think the mistake was wanting to get to the Adamantium too quickly... I would have wanted much more of the Team X years, but over all it was still great. A must see for any fan of the books and the first movies.

I feel compelled due to the lack of appreciation I've read regarding the the new x-men installment. I give the movie 4.5 stars. The only thing that could have made this movie better was a little more time spent building the different character traits of both Wolverine and Sabretooth while they were growing up, you are left guessing why Logan is compassionate and his brother hellbent. The action scenes were very satisfying and the story line many surprising twists. The overall feel of this movie was that of "Batman Begins", which is more of a real feel to the movie and less comic book. I highly recommend this to my friends and as a side note stay until the end of the credits you won't be dissappointed.

The opening of the movie was brilliant and from there it just got better. There was a building of a foundation in the movie so that took some time, but they didn't drag it out. I loved all the new characters they inserted & the 180 change that you see in Hugh Jackmans character. I loved it!

I have noticed there is quite a bit of polarity in the reviews for this movie. In my opinion, if you have seen the other 2 X-Men movies, you will be dissapointed by this one. That being said, it still has entertainment value, just not what it had potential for. I thought the storyline seemed overly contrived and was quite different than I remember it in the comics, though I could be wrong. And dont bother staying for the end of the credits- you will be even more dissapointed...

While the first 20 minutes of this movie are okay, it goes downhill from there. By the end, it plays like a video game, with Wolverine fighting people in order to gain information only to face-off against a remote controlled super-mutant on top of a nuclear reactor. What were they thinking? The acting in X-Men Origins is decent, as are the action scenes, but the movie is, to put it nicely, lacking. With a clunky script, featuring cheesy dialogue and characters like Gambit and Wade Wilson disappearing as suddenly as they appear, don't expect this movie to compare to the likes of last year's Iron Man or The Dark Knight or even X-Men or X2: X-Men United. X-Men Origins: Wolverine is just okay, and, unfortunately, I was hoping for more.

This movie basically restored my faith in Marvel Enterprises and their ability to produce movies that parallel the quality of DC's movies(specifically Batman Begins and The Dark Knight). I can definetly say that this is my favorite Marvel movie, the best to date. No more of the cheesy-stylized power-ranger fight sequences. Its brutal, the movie from the start picks up fast and keeps trucking( for the most part). And to hardcore fans: don't worry the story actually lines up with the X-Men trilogy, all knots are tied and everything is set up properly. Also, stay for the end of the credits because there is a clip and i won't say anything about it except that its there. Great movie, definetly planning on seeing it again

This movie was one of the worst that I have seen. It is a disgrace to the X-Men series. It was over the top and cheesy. The movie was completely predictable and it looked like the CG special effects were done by a two year old on a cell phone. Please for the love of God and all that is holy DO NOT see this movie!!!

I was at the Premier on the 27th, and this movie KICKS BUTT! It is sooo good. The hero is amazing, and the story is the bomb! The new characters are just as awesome as all the other X-Men movies and the villian in this one, OH he is worth every second of air time they give him.. Cheers to Hugh and the cast for making a GREAT film!!

After reading the two existing reviews, and not yet seeing the movie, comparison to other X-men movies better than to the original series. Like most books compared to their movie productions, they don't fly---2 different mediums!
Enjoy Wolverine Origins for its own action oriented storyline.
