A good thing about this movie is it takes pieces of the first X-Men movie and it lets you know what they mean. Like Wolverine being able to go through so many wars dating back to the 1800's goes to what Jean Grey said when she examined Wolverine: "it makes his age impossible to determine, he may be older than you Professor".
The origins of not just Wolverine but Sabretooth, and Deadpool who was awesomely played by the smartmouth Ryan Reynolds.
While it is a good movie, I am sure they could always do more but how much of a backstory can you fit in within 2 hours as opposed to numerous issues of a comic series.

Good action flick, movie was dry at times.

This movie had you hooked from the very first scene. A lot of action and information perfectly matched. Even non XMEN viewers will enjoy this film. Answers the questions you had about Wolerine plus gives you additional information you didn't know you needed. I've been an XMEN fan for decades and this movie was worth waiting for. X-Men Wolverine kept me on the edge of my seat. I really enjoyed this movie. It is action-packed with a touch of comedy and romance as well. If you enjoyed the other X-Men movies you will love this because it gives you a little background on them, mainly Wolverine and Sabertooth. Even if you never saw the other X-Men movies this one can stand on its own. I highly recommend this movie to anyone.

I saw this before I saw Star Trek. No wonder there were only 4 people at the 12:15 p.m. showing.Hugh Jackman does his best to make Wolverine a star, but the rest of it isn't so great.

This movie had all the potential to make up for that DREADFUL "Last Stand": a complex yet lovable main character, dark and poignant source material; and fan-favorite characters yet to be seen on the big screen. Even for a PG-13 film, this thing was way too light and fluffy. Wolverine and Sabertooth, two kick-butt sides of a rather unstable coin, here, glorified Power Rangers. Deadpool, Gambit, Emma Frost, a Silver Fox analog, all great characters, all wasted in this piece. And the action. Shudder. This is one of those movies that make you wish they had never come up with CGI, because it gets abused, becoming a replacement for real action and stunts which this movie needed. Badly. Wait for cable or Netflix, go see Star Trek. I wish I had.

It was better than X-Men 3 but worse Star Wars Episode One. The effects were awesome and the action sequences rocked... but the storyline on the "origins" was severely lacking. Maybe if It was titled "X-Men The Wolverine Adamantium Origin" I wouldn't have been as disappointed.

This was a great movie. Lots of special effects and a great story. Not being a comic book fan, I had no preconceived notions of the storyline. I loved the twists and turns.
The character development was strong and easily followed.
I recommend this one!
I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.
