You won't be disappointed! The action and stunts are non-stop. But the personal story also has enough twists and turns to keep you engaged. This is Hugh's strongest performance yet. But he almost gets outshone by his villanous half-brother Liev Scheiber, who you'll love to hate. Oscar material...No. Great afternoon in the theater...Yes!

This was no Dark Knight, but I still got my money's worth. With great action, and Hugh Jackman kicking a** as usual, I reconmmend this to none-nitpickers and people who just want to be entertained for an hour and a half. The ending I thought was anti-climactic, but other than that, go see it for what it is.

I found that this movie is continuing the trend of the X-Men series getting progressively more tired and uninspired. It had flashes of great action movie spectacle, but settled into a grind of very expensive rote movie making. It is full of laughable gaps in continuity in the X-Men story- Wolverine fought in the Civil War...what?? If Storm and Cyclops were held captive by Striker and rescued by Wolverine- how is it that they have no recollection of him at all when they meet in the first film? Hugh Jackman tried his best to carry this tired mess. Stony faced, emotionless actor-droid Liev Schreiber has finally found a good niche in playing puffed up angry guys...good for him.

I took my boys to watch X-men Origins: Wolverine it was overall impressive with the special effects, character setups etc. I think this was a great way to bring the X-men legacy back to full turn. I was most impressed with the fact of all the young "mutants" that were shown on 3-mile as this gives the possibility to a great sequel. I was extremely pleased that they brought in Gambit as he was always an important figure in the comics. I will definately buy this film when it comes out on blu-ray as I'm sure i missed parts of the movie, taking care of bathroom breaks. Great movie

The movie overall was a very good portrayal of Wolverine's life - if you are not an idiot and think it is going to be exactly as the comicbooks say it should. Come on people - wake up! I think they did a wonderful job introducing characters, giving background information, and giving us a plot which made us both interested in what happens next. I like the ending and it leaves room for the other movies and their adaptation into this one. I would definitely recommend this to my friends, but we all saw it together!

I went in with low expectations, and I was still disappointed.
It's always nice to see claws and characters brought to life. You can never have too much *snikt!*. Some of the fighting was satisfying. There were cute moments with Blob.
BUT.
Stories need heart, and this one had none. Wolverine is the low-hanging fruit of heart stories with a character modeled on classic Clint Eastwood. But this movie started off with barely a flutter and died on the operating table with each successive jump off the Cliffs of Absurdity. And I can tolerate an awful lot of absurdity for anything X-Men.
Next time triple Bryan Singer's salary and get the job done right. Wolverine was more enjoyable in X1 & X2 than in his own movie.

I hate to give this movie an average rating, but it just wasn't spectacular. If you're a die hard X-men fan, I'd say it's better than the 3rd but definitely not better than the first and second movies. It's probably worth seeing for Gambit alone, although like Colossus in the 2nd film--just not enough on screen time. I really thought Liev Schreiber was casted perfectly for Sabertooth though...All in all, I'd say make it a matinee.

Overall, this was a respectable movie. The cast was far better then the script (Liev Strieber and Ryan Reynolds in particular were great) I feel it suffered from the same problem that Spiderman 3 did... To many super heroes for the plot to develope logically. I still recomend it but it is no Dark Knight.

First, I would like to say the bar wasn't very high for this movie because XMen 3 was terrible. Second making a comic book adaption is not an easy thing. Three Wolverine is one of the most complex comic book characters out there.
But I think this movie could have been much better than it was. The whole Team X thing was a movie invention that has just been added to the Marvel Universe. I would have liked to see more of the internal struggle with Wolverine between his animal and human side. Wolverine is rage personified, not a soft and cuddly lumberjack.
In conclusion, this is better than X-3 but not nearly as good as X1 or X2.

the only way this would be a decent movie to any one is if they knew ABSOLUTELY nothing about x-men. unfortunately, the public generally speaking, already knows wolverine's origin and for us die hard fans, this movie does no justice at all. to all the die hard fans, u are not gonna like this movie. so many screw ups i cant even count them all. was bryan singer too busy with some other movie because gavin hood sucked horribly.

Best in the series so far and I'm a big fan of the X-Men series! This movie delivers!! People will probably complain that there is not enough story for the other characters.... to this I say .. this is Wolverine's story... no one elses. The action was kick butt, the story was true to the comic and the special effects were awesome!!

First of all the movie X- Men sucked. It did not stick to the story line of the comic. Sabretooth never spoke a word which was so stupid. The second movie was horrible as well the only good scene was the Nightcrawler seen in the white house. This movie actually stayed more truly to the comic with the time line and some of Logan' s and Creed's history together. The Deadpool was pretty good. The movie was fast passed and I was entertained throughout the film.

Don't know if this will happen to you, but I guess the projector was automated, and kicked off just after the credits, before the movie was over. So I got to spend an arm and a leg to not watch the entire movie. May want to ask management in your local theater about it before you see the movie to make sure you don't share my experience.

I admit that my husband is the reason we went to this movie. I am usually not the super-hero movie type. I enjoyed the last 3 X-Men movies, but I get bored about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way through. Wolverine had me riveted to my seat till the very end! This movie had a great storyline and never faded out like a lot of movies do. Excellent job! I'd recommend this movie to anyone who likes action, suspense, and a gorgeous main character!

Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson, dead on! He nailed it and I was sorry to see (but understand why plot-wise) that he didn't play a bigger role.
Deadpool...I've read a little about the ending since I saw it last night, and if that was actually a Deadpool clone then all is forgiven! Otherwise...not-so-much

Some issues:
The CGI looked totally fake in some scenes. This is 2009, hire some real artists.
Gambit loses his accent after a few lines.
How does Sabertooth not know Wolverine in the future?
How does Wolverine not have holes in his skull? Does the adamantiam (sp?) grow back too?
How is Xavier walking? He should be in a wheelchair already (but cool to see Patrick Stewart in the film!)
Why aren't Wolverine's bone claws covered in metal, instead of being 100% replaced with the adamantium ones?
If you are a die-hard fan, the inconsistencies might be too much to take. If you are a casual fan, you can probably overlook most of these and enjoy most of the movie.

The movie was a good movie. It could have done a little better as far as storyline go, but the action was very good. I know that many Marvel purest were upset with the storyline and the character details, but it a good film worthwhile watching. Hugh Jackman really brought his A game to the role of Wolverine.

If you know the X-men and their adversaries then you will complain after watching this film. However if you just go to watch the movie for an action movie then you will not be disappointed. Bad: The relatives that the movie portrays in the film. Logan and Sabertooth, while yes they were friends in the past during the various wars they fought in they were never related by blood, only related in the blood of combat. Emma and Silver Fox were not related at all.
Emma's power is that of being a telepath, The good: The action sequence's are on par as well as the comedy. The direction of the movie was decent. Overall I would recommend seeing this film at least once in the theater and buy it on DVD.
