Jackman stays true to The Wolverine and executes the character flawlessley. He is the monster. Schreiber is also a winner as Creed/Sabertooth sans the fur. Their hatred and love for each other is well written. Where the movie lacks is in the subplots and additional characters. The movie is too short much more could have been added about Gambit (bad accent or attempt of Creoloe accent), The White Queen/Emma character - no telepathy. There is not enough detail. The other characters needed more emphasis to really pull the whole thing together. I feel like the movie was rushed. It was worth seeing a summer must but if you love X-men but you will leave feeling there could have been so much more explored.

Fun was had by all. I liked the story. I thought it was great being a non comic books person. My husband tried to fill me in and then just gave up. He said 3 stars but I give it 4 stars. I would go see it again.

If you take this movie at face value it's a great one to see. There's a story, the effects are solid and the action keeps on coming so the time passes quickly. If you just look at it from that angle it's a real good summer film.
However if you are a fan of the comics or even the other X-men films you will probably find this one lacking. All the pre-release hype made such a big deal out of the secondary characters that I was really excited about getting to see some of my mutant favorites. But really this film is about Logan and Victor so those of us that were hoping to see a lot of Gambit, Deadpool and the Blob are pretty much out of luck.
An enjoyable movie over all but I was hoping for more.

This movie was a disaster. Hugh Jackman and Sabertooth were fun, but that's pretty much all that was good about the movie. It really felt like the suits stepped in and ruined a good story with a lot of nonsense. There was no logic to the decisions made by characters. Also, Ryan Reynolds seems to be a harbinger of lousy movies.

Loved this movie. It is a great family movie, especially if you have boys. There is enough action to keep them happy with a great story line to keep the ladies happy too. Not to mention the brief shots of Hugh's lovely bod! No explicit love scenes or much bad language, best movie this year so far, I don't see much else being able to push it off the top of my list!

This movie was action packed from the start. As a bonus for the ladies there is even a scene with Hugh Jackman naked and killing people. Doesn't get much better then that.

Not a lot was put into the making of this movie. Poor special effects really detract from everything else going on. Character development was weak, but for the hard core fan it will be nice to rent on video.

A solid addition to the X-Men franchise. Yet again, Hugh Jackman is awesome as Logan/Wolverine. While the movie doesn't do much to develop his character, it does have a lot of cool scenes and pays homage to his comic book roots.

Wolverine has definitely started the Summer movie season off in awesome fashion! Hugh Jackman embodies the character so well, and being very familiar with the source materials (ie: reading X-men/Wolverine since my teen years), I can say this is a very entertaining ride. I could nitpick and point out that there are a LOT of continuity errors, timeline gaffes, character issues, etc compared to Wolverine's origins in the comics, but that's ultimately not what counts here. We want to see Wolverine in action..and this film provides that in addition to showing he actually does have a moral compass he follows. Great film and worth seeing!

It had a lot of story, which I think is an appeal of X-Men over some other brands. Some who like non-stop edge of your seat action all of the time will find that it lags in spots, but that is to move the story along. Connected well with other movies in answering details to Wolverine's past with only minor redaction.
The Easter egg is not worth waiting for except to be able to say you saw it.

Elementary dialogue and a watered down plot are the 2 biggest blunders of this film. I've been an X-Men fan for 15 years, Victor Creed being my main man. I was excited to see Liev as Vic, he totally pulled the strong personality off and was the highlight of the film. There were some missed opportunities to make the characters more like they should have been...like Wade and Gambit. Oh well. Maybe if they get spin offs the next set of writers/directors will do it right. Sorry Hugh, you dropped the ball on this one.

I really liked the movie. I will watch anything with Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. I wish we could have seen more of him growing up and figuring himself out and not just the events leading up to his memory loss, but overall it was very good and I would watch it again. I thought Liev Schrieber was excellent. I wish we could see more of his character. Before, Sabertooth was sort of an idiot. Schrieber makes him a menacing yet likable.

From start to finish, this was amazing. I was captivated the whole movie, and now have a whole slew of new characters I want to follow who were perfectly captured by their actors. Ryan Reynolds as deadpool should have been more in the movie while he spoke, b/c he was hilarious, and I really, really hope they do a spin off about/with him as deadpool. Gambit also was an underused character that I loved Taylor Kitsh (or whatever his name is) playing, and I want to see him ini more X-men movies. And if this movie proved anything, it's that I will certainly be watching many more in that franchise because it was amazing.

Great Stand Alone movie. Gives great background and answers all Wolverine questions. Liked that it was 'its own movie'. Plus, gives enough room to make another one to connect this movie with the first X-Men movie (as Xavier is not in a chair). Had a bit of humor in it, which was a surprise, but it was well done with a nice 'human element' to Wolverine's story.

I never read the comics and I liked liked the X-men movies, but this one could have been better. Some of the large explosions were unneccessary. The one-liners were kind of lame. The whole movie was basically bringing in x-men characters for 10 minutes at a time. I liked most of the fighting sequences, but the dialogue could have been better. Overall I give it a C because I know it could have been much better. I like however that it fit in some of the same story line with stryker from X2 so it helped those go along.

I am not an avid comic book reader but I do know the story of Xmen and I loved how this story was told and explained the history of Wolverine. My husband is not famaliar with the story of Xmen and he left the theater feeling as if he had been a fan his whole life. It really explained a lot of history even some I didn't know. Great movie would definitely pay to see it again.

If you're a fan of the X-Men genre and Hugh Jackman, then you will not be disappointed with this movie. It's got non-stop action from start to finish, and the dynamic between Wolverine and Sabertooth was awesome.

I thought that the movie was very interesting in several parts. How was it that Logan was in bed sick and yet self healing? Where did they get their mutations from? It would stand to reason that if they both had the same mutation that one of their parents would have exhibited the same. The conflict with Logan and his brother was good.....showing a good man vs a man who lost crossed the line of good in to evil .Special effects were great. I didn't think that we needed the headless villain to show his ugly head again. Sometimes a death should remain that....and acid bath would have helped. Striker was a good bad guy too. All in all a good movie worth watching again.
