I'm a 44yr old female and have been a fan of the X-Men comics since I was a teen.
While the reviews have been mixed, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and think Hugh Jackman did a great job!
My only wish was that the characters of Deadpool and Gambit were in it more. I really enjoyed Gambit; and since it's the first time that character has transitioned from the comics to the big screen; it would have been nice to see more from this character. I thought the actor Taylor Kitsch (sp?) did a great job!
Way to go Hugh! Go see the movie and determine for yourself if you enjoy it or not;
don't let the critics dissuade you!!

I think Wolverine was Well done and awsome for a Summer action movie. I wish though they had increased the time on it to give more character development and story. Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber were awesome as Wolverine and Sabertooth. Ryan Reynolds gave a good performance as deadpool (when he was talking), he has come a long way from "2 Guys a Girl and a Pizza Place".
Now for the downside while I liked the movie I am a Comic fan and the fact that they deviated so far from the comics was a bit of a let down. I was able to read a "legal" review before hand and brace myself for the changes and enjoy the action. I would still tell a friend to go see it, and even go with them again.

Just awesome if you have some background knowledge of other Marvel characters. I'd imagine it is good on its own without the knowledge. I have really been looking forward to it and it didn't disappoint.

I love the x-men series thus far and they have done a decent job of bringing the charachters to life. This was a decent action flic with plenty of bang and introducing GAMBIT was the best part.However, i will NOT go see it again.
I dont understand how you can out as much time and money into a movie as big as WOLVERINE as hollywood did and still have so many CG errors!! thier were more than i could keep up with much less actually be able to count. I have seen original SCI-FI movies tha had less mistakes than this. This is unexceptable.
With all the graphical errors along with so many loopwholes in the storyline just make this a C+ movie.

The movie left me with some questions about the tie-in with the 1st X-Men movie. I got the answers on-line, but I thought they could have had a better story line. I also thought they could have used Deadpool a bit more.

If you like superhero movies and are a fan of the previous X-Men films then you won't be dissappointed. I definitely enjoyed it and it was 10 times better than X-Men: Last Stand. Hugh Jackman worked hard to prepare for the role and he definitely lives up to the Wolverine character.

This movie is the first X-Men movie that actually tried to follow the comic book story, and, unsurprisingly, is the best one so far. This movie, unlike the previous X-Men movies, has a great story line, in addition to the usual "special effects." I would highly recommend this movie to any sci-fi/fantasy fanatic and recommend it to anyone who liked the trailer.

Unexpected! Really great movie! I'd recommend it! Stay until a breath or so after the movie "ends".
Also - despite the PG13 rating, this is a very violent movie. This is not a movie i'd recommend young children to view.

I was expecting a lot more action out of this movie for what I assume is supposed to be a summer blockbuster. But clocking in at just under two hours, the film seems almosat incomplete in a way and far too slow at points. Some of the action scenes are amazing, and the initial portions with Ryan Reynolds are hilarious. The ending is very weak though and seems like they slapped a few characters in JUST to say they had them in the movie. Overall, go for the matiness or wait for the rental.

This disjointed prequel to the X-men series was really bad in so many ways. The writing and storyline were very weak, even by comic book standards. And not that good acting is a requirement for comic book movies, but it was definitely absent in Origins. The action scenes had some appeal, but only some. I don't want to give anything away here, but for those that graduated high-school, you will get more out of your evening staying home to clip your toe nails.

I loved the action. The interplay between Logan and Victor was great. Emma Frost as Kayla Silverfox's sister was an unnecessary plot gimmick. And what happening to her telepathic powers? She should have been able to hear/sense Xavier moreso than Scott. All they showed was the diamond-skin mutation which happened when she was older and wasn't all that impressive. I still love the movie, but hope they stick closer to the comic book in future films. Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool rocked! Funny and deadly is a good fit for him!

Great movie! Hugh Jackman does another amazing job as Wolverine and Liev Schrieber is surprsingly fantastic as Victor Creed/ Sabretooth. The relationship between the two is both believeable and complex.
All of the other heros were great...Ryan Reynolds rips as Dead Pool and Gambit does NOT disappoint!

Amazing effects throughout...although a couple scenes at the end seemed awkwardly over-'effected'. Who knows. Thats just being overly picky.
Skip the "Rotten Tomatoes" reviews...

STAY 'TIL THE END OF THE CREDITS!!! Having watched the previous 3 X-Men movies and feeling that their quality diminished slightly with each, I was highly gratified with this incarnation. I can't wait to see which character gets his/her origin story told next. This makes me want to go back and watch all three to see if I can pick up any clues that I missed the first time around. I love Danny Huston's Stryker. Very well played. I'm not familiar with the comics, but the introduction of new mutants left me wanting to know more about each.
