I'm still stuck on the character of Sabretooth from the original X-Men flick. I really don't like where they went with his character at all. Schreiber is a cool actor and all, but I'm just not sold as him playing Sabretooth.
I think they could have done better to add yet another character - Omega Red - from what I gather from the comics, he was at least a somewhat 'bigger' character for this story....add Yuriko, the chick from X2 with the awesome claws...where was she?
Alot of hit + miss with this one. The characters I thought were cool weren't fed into it enough (like Deadpool), and the ones that weren't had too much cameo (like Zero- the 'Gun-guy'). OK action, but I think they're messing with this a bit too much.

very good, im glad its was more adult oriented and not made for children. the action and explanation of the origin of wolverine was very close to the comics.

If you're favorite X-men character is Wolverine, then you'll love this one. The movie does a great job giving you the "origin" of Wolverine, with all the answers not coming to total conclusion until the end of the movie.
I liked the story lines of the other X-men movies better than this one-I'd give another 1/2 star rating for a total of 4 1/2 stars.

AWESOME! Like many super-hero movies, the X-Men series had started to get cheesy. Wolverine goes back to being a gritty, action-packed movie that had me on the edge of my seat. The cast was great, the special effects were stunning and not overdone (well, for a super-hero action movie). I hope that the Origins series continues.

As a person who went to the Tempe premiere, it was a great thriller loaded with action. Superbly acted with a great plot. The one thing is the movie characters died too quickly. Over all a excellent movie!!!

You know, I don't get why you "smart ones" take your kids to this movie (if their not mature enough to see a brief image of an as$ on a screen when it says on the left of this screen: PG-13 for PARTAIL NUDITY! =P). I LOVED IT - but I am a huge Hugh Jackman fan, and I collected all the X-titles as a kid, so, My review is unfair probably. It could have just been him standing there for half the movie snarling and I would give it a thumbs up!!!

First everyone must remember this is based off a comic book series so they shouldn't expect an oscar performances. That said I really liked this movie because it offered a good mix of action and story line. The action wasn't so fast that you would miss anything but it was good enough to keep you hooked. The acting was good though I think wolverine was the most three dimensional character in the movie. Ryan Reynolds was looking awesome, it is as if his body gets better with age. I would recommend this movie

Answers the question: Why is Logan so surly? Seems this dude has a lot on his back...dysfunctional family, dishonorable past, the love of a good woman, and The Man trying to keep him down...even if he can't remember it all! The movie is action packed from the get-go but initially leans more towards conventional thrills (mano y mano fisticuffs, bullets, bombs, etc) and doesn't get fully immersed in the geeky mutanty stuff until near the end...and even then, it wades (ha! get it?!?) only chest deep. Don't go to this movie thinkin you're gonna see a lot of neato mutants zippin about doing mutant stuff. You won't. But you do get your appetite for Gambit and Deadpool whetted, enough to pique your curiosity until the next spin-off movie.

Great movie! Really enjoyed seeing the beginnings of Logan's life. Loved that Professor Xavier came to pick up the kids. It was a great tie in to the other movies. I'd like to see the Origins story for all the X-Men. That would be interesting.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine covered a lot of time and events in its run time. Hugh Jackman was a great casting choice to play Wolverine in the original X-Men movie, and continued to shine in the role in this film. Great special effects and an introduction of several new mutants. I enjoyed this movie, and didn't mind that it deviated in several points from the comic books that inspired it, though some comic book purists might. Go see it, Bub!

The premise: get ten big guys on screen, give them mutant powers and have them fight for two hours. At first glance, this premise is genius. However, it is only after watching the movie that you realize the flaw; it is near impossible to create 15 fight sequences that are all well done. The movie spends each fight trying to out-do the last and then starts to fall into the realm of 'stupid' about 3/4 the way through as fights become almost silly. But on the positive, Jackman is great, many of the fights are still very cool, and the story is legitimately interesting. In summary, see it. It’s entertaining enough.

If you're a fan of the X-movies, or of Hugh Jackman, you're gonna have a great time. If you're looking for lessons beyond the genre, ala Iron Man or Dark Knight, you'll be disappointed.
Wolverine is straight ahead action flick, and it that way, it succeeds in spades.
Not in the same league as Iron Man or Spidey 2, but above Daredevil & Electra.
Note for the squeamish: Some of Logan's transformation into the adamantium-clawed Wolverine can be a bit gruesome, not so much for what it shows, but what it suggests.
No Stan Lee cameo, but look for pro poker player Daniel Negreanu.

When I first heard the they were making this movie, I thought it was just a cash grab, but I was wrong, this was quite good. Hugh Jackman does a superb job telling Wolverine's story; how he got the ademantium claws, and why he had no memories of his life at the begining of the first X-Men movie. Things got a litle too predictable toward the end though, and like in the X-Men movies, I think some characters were watered down to a fault. But overall this was a good movie...oh, and Jackman looks absolutely fantastic.
