I must say that I was disappointed in the story and how many liberties were taken by the writers. As any X-fan would and should know. But the characters were so far off the mark it was almost rediculous. Deadpool fans will deffinitely be upset and rightfully so. Wolverine and Sabertooth half brothers? Are they Kidding?
I honestly believe that had they stuck to the "Original" Origin as written it would have surpassed all 3 X films. No doubt.
As for this X-fan, I'll stick with the comic books, they make alot more sense.

The movie was terrible. The CGI was awful there were landscape scenes that looked like a 4 year old finger painted the background, most of the good action scenes were shown in commercials/trailers, and Gambit (who is my favorite X-Man in the comics) was terrible (and he didnt have a Cajun accent). They just tried to incorporate to many mutants into this movie. But Gambit and poor CGI were huge disappointments. The best part of the movie is small party Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson early on in the movie.

This is a strictly by-the-numbers assemblage of action movie clichés. It's big yet never spectacular. While the individual set pieces can be fun, put together they don't add up to much at all. There are some talented performers here playing characters that are potentially quite interesting (and in whom many in the audience are already invested) but the script never treats them as much more than plot devices or gives us a reason to care about them. Throw in a finale that's pretty much lifted from (and done better in) "X2" and I can't think of much reason to recommend this. Wolverine deserves better. So does the audience.

This movie put a lot of things in perspective for me. I did not follow wolverine with the xmen comic books. I was little lost on alot of details regarding his origin. This movie help alot. The action was non stop and there was even a couple of touching moments which i did like. I would pay to see this movie again just to make sure i didn't miss anything. And if anyone reads this please stay till all the credits have ran.

On the movie as a whole I would give 5-Stars. I had to drop 1 Stars for the following reasons: Not enough Gambit, and I hated the ending. I enjoyed being swept along for a fantastic ride without having to try and figure out what was happening. A great fun film filled with memorable quotes and scenes. However I really didn't like the ending. I know WHY it was done, and it makes sense...now I have to go back and watch the first film again.
***SPOILER WARNING*** Also, I was left asking the following questions: 1. Why does Gambit not have a bigger role in the film? It feels almost like he was an afterthought. 2. Why does Xavier not bring Gambit with him at the end? How are they going to reconcile not having Gambit in the other films?

If you're looking for an escape from the real world experience, this movie delivers. It meets all criteria for a summer season action-packed movie. On a nerdier note, I was slightly disappointed in some of the special effects and the departure from the comic book storyline, but would not hesitate to see it again.

Cheesy blue screens, over-compensating explosions, actions inconsistent with personas, gaps, loose plot. This is an action fest, not cinema.
It's X-Men: Wolverine. If you chose to go and weren't dragged there on a poorly planned date, you're going to have fun. Watch some slicing, dicing, primal screams and mutant cameos.

Great action, and Jackman does as great a job of portraying Wolverine as ever. To comic fans, though, it is a major flaw to fudge Sabertooth's murder of Logan's Love-of-his-life, for that act is crucial to understanding the implacable hatred between the two in the Marvel Universe. You come out of the movie almost thinking they could be friends.
I also didn't like a Gambit without a Cajun accent. That's part and parcel of his personality. If that actor wanted the part, he should have got himself coached in that accent and been true to it. Jackman is way more into being the Logan character than whatshisname was into being Gambit.

I and my daughter really enjoyed the movie. It stayed on point and explained a lot about how the X-men formed. However, it didn't explain how the mutant strand began to formed in human. Other than that, "IT WAS FANTISTIC" thanx Hollywood.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine answered so many questions that are raised in previous X-Men films. While it doesn't exactly follow the comic book story, do any of them? I enjoyed it because I didn't walk into the theater expecting the comic books to unfold before my eyes. The biggest disappointments for me were Gambit's minor role and the way Deadpool was presented. Still, It wasn't so disappointing that I didn't like it. In fact, I've seen it twice.

This movie had me at the edge of my set at all times. Had me glued to the screen and unaware of what was going on around me. The action is unbeleivable and the acting is undescriably good. Loved it from beginning to end and was upset when it was all over. Would see it over and over again. EXECELLENT MOVIE!!!!

I went to see the movie because a friend wanted to see it. I disliked the last one and had no interest. But I really enjoyed it. The characters were all entertaining, the story movie moved along great and I was not bored. I was really entertained. And isn't that why we go to the movies. It was much better than the Hulk. I recommend it. Don't listen to the critics and be entertained.

its wasnt bad but it wasnt great either. there are some loose points, and sabretooth and wolverine are brothers.. i thought sabretooth was his father. i think they should have stuck to the comic book version. DEADPOOL is great! but shouldnt have been played by ryan reynolds. also gambit just appears out of nowhere and is only there as a setup to any upcoming movies...

There are some inconsistencies with the storyline that some hardcore XMEN fans might find unappealing. Personally, I do not mind new storylines considering that the comic books altered things over time so it should not take anything away from the quality of this movie. The introduction of new characters is always exciting in the XMEN movies and I wish more focus could have been placed on that. Also, for an action movie, there were some moments that were a bit slow. The action sequences were done very well and the fight scenes were also very well choreographed. Overall, I found the movie to be extremely entertaining.

This movie wasn't horrible. The story was good. There are plot holes that don't add up when you watch the X-Men movies. Hugh once again did a great job with the character Wolverine. The special effects were not good. At one moment his blades looked plastic. My biggest complaint is that after several movies of ditching Gambit, when they finally put him in the movie they got him all wrong. Where is his accent?!?!?!?!?! He is nothing like the comic book Gambit. But the movie was a good entertaining bit of fun. I hope they continue with the origins stories and that they improve upon this franchise.

Hugh’s "chops" are stretched with a script that is fun, but unfortunately also trite and formulaic. The script dumps the movie into an "action flick bucket" shortly after starting. You can almost hear the producers whispering "Just get to the end quickly so we can get to work on the next cookie cutter script!" You don’t get enough story on any of the characters to really care. Sorry fellow true-believers, but that's the crux of ANY superhero flick nowadays. You have to care or else it's just fluff and explosions and the occasional naked backside. I'm an action junkie just as much as the next guy, but other movies like Iron Man, Batman and Spiderman have already proven that you now have to include a little something called "substance".

Seeing the start of Wolverine's personal saga, however different from the original comics, might instigate a whole new generation of fans. Those die hard fans that expect a hard-line parallel in stories will probably be ultimately disappointed, and unreasonably so. Creators had the final say in the story, and they gave the go-ahead, so if you like movies that basically tell the exact same story that you read as a kid, dont expect too much from this one. Otherwise, check it out. Gambit's abscence from most of the movie was a disappointment, especially since he is all over the previews. The only way anyone who favors Gambit might be pleased is if they make a X-Men: origins in the future.
