well, in case you planned to go see the movie with a toddler, young 5 er you may be wrong....this is not necessarily the movie they want to see - dead people, scary horses etc....my daughter cried during at least half of the movie, only calmed down towards the end. nice movie for older kids or adults but it is misleading as title and ads but is explicitely shows PG for scray sequences...be aware!

This one ranks near the top for movie versions of the classic tale. It brought back the original ghostly spookiness missing from most modern versions, something I was not prepared for. This movie is a bit scary at times, especially for young kids, but my 5 year old handled it just fine (although she did cover her eyes a few times). While it did skip past much of the painful backstory of Scrooge's life (namely, his realization that the pain he felt at the loss of his sister was projected as anger at her only son), it did provide one of the more powerfully moving scenes in any of the adaptations (when Scrooge visits the Chachit home for the future Christmas).

Up front, I want to say that this movie is a disgrace to the wonderful season of Christmas. Yes, Scrooge is supposed to be shaken by his ho hum bug attitude toward his fellow man but this movie displays a wicked twist that would depress the most positive person. This showing of A Christmas Carol should be rated for adults who get their kicks from a weird world. I do not think it offers one thing for children with the exception of the last 5 minutes.

This was a great movie. The 3D and the visual effects were outstanding. It was scary at times but they used humor to keep those moments less scary. I took my whole family and we all loved it.

The movie is awsome. In the beggining, Mr. Scrooge is very harsh because during Christmas, he has to pay bills, but he sees his worker partner's ghost who he tells him that bad spirits will come to him. He flies around, sees his old school, and how everybody hates him because he's selfish and rude, and just wants money. He sees the 2nd spirit sitting on top of a Chistmas tree, who looks kind of like god. They fly around with a clear view on the floor. He sees how his servant has a poor family, with a son who's very sick. The moral of the story is that the spirits showed him that being mean and nasty is not a good way to live. Based on his experiences, he changes his ways and becomes the nicest man ever.

My 11 year old daughter and I both really loved this movie. It was indeed very scary in places (and I think therefore not appropriate for younger children), but the animation and 3D were fantastic and the story was very true to Dickens.

It simply had no emotion. As a 41-year-old Mom seeing this film, I expected more as it is geared toward chidren. It was very "gray" in color and simply blah. While there were a few funny moments, I suggest skipping this one and renting the one with Albert Finney from 1970 - - - a movie classic!

I loved this film. Very faithful to the original book. This is a great film for all, whether toddler, teen-ager or grandmother. The 3-D effects are fantastic. Above all is the music, ending with a new song that Andre Boccelli sings over the end credits that I hope will make it into the classic holiday fare.

I took my son and a few other kids to see the movie. The action scenes were great. However, a lot of the dialogue was muffled and difficult to decipher, it was like Carrey was swallowing the words. I am glad we saw the 3-D version, otherwise, the action scenes wouldn't have been enough to keep kids engaged.

For those that are familiar with this Dickens classic this is an ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC remake. Not only was the movie itself well done, but the 3D was out of this world. I will admit this is the first time I've seen a 3D movie in the theatre and it was amazing! Not only the scenes meant to wow you, but the 3D effects in the entire movie were well done. Since this movie has been made many times and almost of us have seen it or read it in some form or another, the story itself is what you would expect. Even though I knew what was coming, I still found myself wondering what would happen. It was also more thrilling than I would expect from a Disney movie. Definitely not meant for little kids.

I thought the movie was sensational! While it was a true telling of the classic original, it still had enough new elements to keep me totally engaged in the story telling, without being over the top and turning it into the Jim Carrey show... Its hard to admit that the only version of the Christmas Carol I've watched year after year is the Muppets Christmas Carol. This movie is definitely a more grown up version and I loved it! The 3-d Effects were absolutely amazing. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone over 6 years of age. Even though it is animated, the dark scenes are captured very well and could be frightening to the younger kids.

Maybe it's because the movie has been told upteen different times by many different people but it still is the same old story. Disney adds nothing new to it nor does Jim Carrey. Too scary , my eight year old was so bored that he did make a couple of loud comments before I was able to catch him. If I had to do it over I would definitley wait for the $1.00 Red Box showing. The 3-D, nothing impressive. Maybe it was good for some but since the trip to Disneyworld and their version of 3-D, I am spoiled.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I went to see this movie with my granddaughter. It was exceptionally good. I loved the 3-D.. It will be hard watching a movie without it now. I recommend this movie to everyone.
