An amazing movie in terms of animation, special effects, music, etc. A must see for adults and older children! But beware if you have younger kids (7 years or younger). Our 5 year old could not sit through the movie and found it a bit dark in parts. His 2 brothers, ages 10 and 11, loved the movie from start to finish

I took 2 boys ages 13, 12 and one girl 11. The boys are studying in the book in school. They all liked the movie but not blown away. They all thought it was good. 3D was really awesome, but the moive was a bit slow.

I loved this movie. It really put me into the Christmas spirit, even if I did see it on Thanksgiving eve. I was very impressed by the presence of Christian songs and symbols in the movie. I would not take young children to see it though as parts might be a little bit scary.

From the first, the movie was a knockout. Varies a bit from the written original, but it's a different medium and a different time. Animation was fab, 3D worth the extra$. Should have a warning for little ones, or easily scared children as some scenes are fairly intense. Overall: GREAT! Hope to see it many more times, and compare it to earlier movies, and the book.

This was by far the best animated 3D movie I have seen. The 3D as well as the animation detail were fantastic. That is what really made this movie a 4 star. I wish I would have known it was going to be scarey the young chidren. Our youngest was 4. I would not recommend it for that age. The dialog/story line was also above comprehension for young kids. It was true to the way Dickens told it.

This movie was not at all what I had expected. Loved the 3D effects, but we took our kids, the youngest of whom is 4. It was a little too scary for the younger ones. The dialogue is not kid friendly either as much of it is from the original (older English).

Jim Carrey carries the movie beautifully, but I would not recommend for kids under age 12. The images of the ghosts are frightening, and the deterioration of the present ghost was ghoulish. I enjoyed it, but some of the scenes creeped even ME out, and I'm 46 years old. I would recommend it to my friends because it is action-packed, the special effects create mesmerizing scenes, and Jim Carrey keeps you on your toes.

I believe that I have seen all of the classic versions of this movie and this version is absolutely wonderful! That said, it is not appropriate for small children 5 of under because all of the "spirit" visits are emotionally intense and in some cases quite scary (especially the spirit of Christmas future). My 10 year-old son also enjoyed it very much.

This was an excellent movie, the 3D effect was awesome and I'd highly recommend seeing it in 3D. The characters were well developed and not at all cartoonish. Jim Carrey was also excellent in his various roles - his voice is so pliable. Very close to the Dickens book.

The digital 3D made the movie a little better, but the best part was that the story stayed true to the original book.
The animation was so good at times that the images looked real.
Young Children, under 6, may be a little frightened by some of the ghostly images and with the underlying story line there is a lot that will pass right over kids heads.
With no fluff or filler added to the movie it was nice to just enjoy the story. Highly recommended.

The graphics and computer imaging were at the tops for entertainment, but as far as the story line, I think there was too much of the original story left out. Scrooge had much more history in other productions, and I think it would have added more value to the ending. I agree with another review that this is more of a halloween carol, and small children do get alarmed by the ghost graphics. Still good entertainment for the above 13 crowd.

This was a very.....different ...Christmas Carol. Kind of a Halloween Christmas. I would not recommend children under 8 go see it, but I would recommend the movie itself. The ghosts are not only there to change scrooge, but to sorta scare you as the viewer into a better life. I heard a few startled breaths in the crowd a few times. But for older kids and adults, it was well done. Action packed. 3D very realistic.

Excellent film which captures both Dicken's story & characters & also life in London in the 1840's. Pacing was very good with the exception of the chase scene at the end which was a little long & unneccessary. The graphics and 3D effects were very very amazing and made the movie amazing. Some parts were a little too scary for kids. We had 3 girls who were 9 years old and they were scared at times. A great movie to get you in the christmas mood!

It was so close to the actual novel that while watching the movie it was like reading the book! Very true to life. We saw it in 3-D which made it even more thrilling! Some of the scenes with the spirits were slightly scary but made the movie even more intriguing. Exellent family movie for the upcoming holidays. We are already making plans to see it again in IMAX actually.

This movie stays very true to the book and the original film with Alistair Sim. I even found myself reciting some of the lines with Scrooge. I loved it and my son loved it. Some of the ghost scenes were a wee bit spooky but it was part of what made the movie so great. I'd see it again.
