The animation was unreal. With 3D it actually felt like snow was falling around you. I brought my 7 and 3 yr old. Both had seen the reviews on the Disney Channel and really wanted to go. Both have seen several of the Harry Potter movies. I thought, it's a Disney movie w/Jim Carey, there will be humor and it won’t be too dark. Kids were frightened my 7 yr old more than the 3 as he understood more of what was happening. This is NOT a movie for younger children. Keep the little ones at home unless you want nightmares. Corpses, demon eyed horses, depiction of ignorance and want as freaky children that grow before your eyes, one turning into a promiscuous woman....I will stick to Disney's Mickey Mouse version of this classic for the kids!

The Movie was GREAT. The 3D features were amazing...wish there were more movies in 3D out there. This movie was not something for little children under the age of 5 though. There were many in the theatres and most of them were screaming and crying on some parts of the movie.

i think this movie was great. loved the 3d effects. i think the end could have focused more on the "good" . there was more than enough "scary". i don't think this is a good version for young children. too scary. but for those of us who love "scrooge" it was a good one. more of the happy at the end would have balanced the scary parts better.

The most faithful of all the movie versions, including Alistair Sims'. Jacob Marley was truly terrifying in his efforts to get Scrooge to "come around" to the desperate peril awaiting him. Yes, the movie is dark, but so is the premise of the movie, that our humanity is snuffed out by greed and that our "business" is the common welfare, no different today than in 1842. No cutesy stuff, except for a brief turn in some street sewer tunnels. A brilliant interpretation that I am sure Charles Dickens would approve.

All of my sisters and I grew up watching and loving various versions of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." I knew that I wanted all of us to see this incarnation as a group with the next generation, our kids, in tow. What a wonderful experience we had from the very beginning. The movie captures all of the elements that the live action Carols have, and reminded me greatly of Patrick Stewart's television version. The only difference is all of the amazing things that they could do with the CGI and motion capture; in a word, gorgeous. You won't stop being drawn into the beautiful scenery and images coming out at you. The kids loved it and hopefully they will be watching this version with their kids for years to come.

I can only give this movie two stars for a couple of reasons.
First, there's only so many times you can watch A Christmas Carol. Cartoon version, George C. Scott version, etc... So from a story line, meh.
Second, seeing 3D in a regular theatre is like driving a Porche around your neighborhood. 3D has a lot of potential and seeing it where you can exploit that potential (like DisneyWorld's 3D theatre) is a great experience. But at a regular theatre is is just OK.
Probably a good movie for kids 8 and up but if you are an adult, you may not enjoy it as much as the kids.

Loved this movie. You forget from the first minute that it's animated. It can be rather dark so I don't think I'd take small children to see it. But it's a great movie and I highly recomend it.

This movie was fantastic. The special effects were incredible. The clarity of the 3-D was spectacular. I felt as though I were actually in the movie standing on the street or standing in the room watching everything unfold as it happened. While I was expecting this movie to be funny I found it to be a wonderful interpretation of the charles dickens classic. The added 3D effects added so much to the experience. The characters were very well done. I found the similarities in script to other versions of the story added to its authenticity. It truly was an enjoyable holiday experience. However, I feel that the storyline may be above the level of young children. overall I loved this movie and plan to add it to my holiday collection when it becomes available on dvd.

It has the same type of creepy animation that was used in "Polar Express." It would have been a better movie with real people. The scenes with the spirits are scary, potentially too frightening for the under 10 crowd.

I have to mention how brilliant the animation was, you really thought that jim carry\scrooge was real on the screen ,they got his facial expressions to a tee ,although I liked the movie the kids 9, 11, 12 did not enjoy it as much as I thought they would ,it probably should have came out around christmass may be renting it on christmass is a better idea since every one is in a holiday mood. I wish they showed more of the good time in the end and a bit less of the final dark spirit .

Not worth the money...the 3D effects are forgettable and the ghosts are annoying to say the least. I took my 2 children (ages 11 and 15) and my mother (age 75)...I am 43. We all hated it! Really not worth the money. As we were leaving, my son said; "I told you we should have seen The Box"

Thought Disney did a wonderful job on this rendition of A Christmas Carol. I have never been a big fan of 3D movies, but this one was excellent. They did not over do the effects of objects comming at you. The story was done with a bit more darkness in its theme than what Disney usually puts out. One negative is the chase scene with the final spirit. This was way to long. It took away from the story and seemed to be there to add minutes to the movie.

I loved the 3D effects in the movie, my nine year old daughter loved it. (scared her in a couple of places) The only thing for me, was that I felt like I was getting a little motion sickness and I'm not one to get motion sick. But I really do recomend going to see this, a must see.

Jim Carrey was fantastic. The 3D graphics were incredible. There was a scene where Scrooge is flying around the city with one of the ghosts. My stomach actually got a little queezy. It really felt like I was flying with him. I wouldnt recommend this for little children though. There are some parts too dark and scary for them. I heard some of the older children laughing out loud during some of the scenes but it was the adults you heard making more sounds from.

Saw a snipet of " A Christams Carol" in Seattle at the Disney/ HP Train display..... when the 4 year old with us was scared I knew it would be nothing like the others. It was Fantastic! 3-D effects made it totally worth seeing at midnight! You felt like you could just reach out and touch the characters! It had us jumping out of our seats when the horse scene was on! Jim Carrey was great as Scrooge! Would not have small children see it... maybe some adults too. What made it even better was having only 10 of us viewing it! Now that was nice!

Very boring at times, fell asleep in parts of it. Very dark, some weird parts. Def. woudln't recommend for younger kids. Skip this movie and go see something more upbeat and lighthearted.

Great movie!! Graphics were great the animators really had Jim Carey down to a "T". Some parts may be a little scary for kids under 5 or 6. There were many funny parts that had everyone in the theater laughing!!
Disney is amazing!!!

Story line was very interesting, special effects were excellent and the theatre experience was very comfortable clean and professional and a great wide screen 3D view and sound system. Wife and kids had a great time. Thanks

A classic story re-told once again. This version blends into the new tech of digital 3-D very well in my opinion. The whole family enjoyed the movie but what my wife and I enjoyed the most was listening to the smaller children in the theater, and how excited and amazed they were at seeing a movie in 3 dimensions.

I took my 6 year old son to see this movie and I walked out of there knowing that he was going to have a lot of questions. It did have some parts that were a little frightening, for a kid. It was just a little strange in some parts.
