I saw this movie with my wife. After it was over, I said that I had wished that I had waited for the DVD; I was surprised to hear her say that she thought it was pretty good and was much better on a big screen. My wife pointed out that the movie had just as many thrills as a big budget movie. I had seen the reviews of the movie on Yahoo, and was expecting more. She saw no reviews, and enjoyed the flick for what it was - a low budget creepy thriller that delivered.

This movie sucks. Slow-paced. Not scary at all. The best part of the movie was the last five minutes. Wait until it comes out on DVD and even then, borrow it from someone else, don't pay money to rent it! Too much hype. I have no idea at all why this movie is so popular? People give it one star. I would have never let this movie into the theatre! All their doing is stealing peoples money. This movie is incredibly original. It has such a low budget but such great execution The acting is quite believable and the plot goes from slow and snowballs to be more intense, making the progressive mood swing likeable. It's not some profit-mongering, overly gorey, predictable, pop-out-to-scare-you, teen induced film that most corporate horror films release. So unless all you want is to be scared for two seconds from something that pops out at you with a loud noise, then don't see this movie. If you want a horror film that stays with your mind and makes your look around nervously as you sleep in your dark room at night, then please, DO see this movie.

I watched this movie on halloween hoping for a good scare, and although I it wasn't as scary as I had expected, it had its moments. It wasn't a bad movie, as some people have commented, but it wasn't a great movie either. You have to watch this with an open mind and little expectations. Wow, I can't believe all of the negative, sourpuss reviews. I loved this movie. Went to see it on Halloween night and fully expected a mediocre 'Blair Witch' type experience. I was pleasantly surprised. Not an out and out scare-fest, but creepy in the extreme and the last 30 minutes definitely freaked us out. Our theater was very verbal about how scared they were. I found it well worth the money & time spent.

For kids addicted to hi-octane FX, it may not cut it. For me it was cool and creepy. Yes it could have been scarier but they went for authenticity and mostly succeeded. I love touches like blurring out refrigerator magnets as if this were totally real and they couldn't legally show some things captured on tape! Judge this as an against the grain thriller - like the no-budget dive films were the counter to Jaws. I'm personally sick of the relentless adrenaline pumping Hollywood. It's like DISCO. All thump and no soul. This film gets under your skin - but only if you accept the premise of unfiltered reality.

The suspense build up was way too slow. Yeah, some parts were a bit creepy, but we kept waiting for more, and that didn't happen until the end. And the dude was frickin' annoying. I would have wasted him the first 10 minutes in and left the theater if I could.

I feel that it was an awesome marketing scam! Getting people to demand it was genious! The movie was beyond a waste of time. At no point was I even a little bit scared. I like that you really felt like you were watching someones home movie..that's what you are supposed to think it is so those who complain about the acting or filming should remember that. Was not as scary as I thought it would be but it certainly had its moments.

I expected great audience reaction ( think Jaws) and there was hardly a scream heard till the very end. The anticipation factor was pretty good. I liked the fact that it felt like a real couple just filming using a video camera. Their conversations felt real. I actually thought the very last second of the film was the lamest. Shouldn't have shown her morphing into a beast. The best part was Katie being pulled out of bed all though I had to stop myself from laughing when she was dragged down the hall. It just looked silly!
Over all it was pretty good. I wished I had waited to Netflix it. I think it would have been scarey watching it in my own home.

This movie in my mind was just ok, there were some shock value moments, but only a few. The characters (all four of them) were very one dimensional. the cinematography was reminded me of "the blair witch project" with fewer motion sickness moments. My over all reaction was "Meh"

I really didn't like this movie. Not scary at all. Keep waiting on something to happen just like in Blair Witch. This movie bites best part was the ending :)
