You know a movie is good when you get home and start to sleep with one eye open or it takes you awaile to go to sleep. At the end of the movie I thought, not too bad, it was alright, could have done more with the "demon". But I found myself cutting lights on before I went into the room last night when I got home and the wife had to sleep with the light on and thought she was hearing stuff all night! And that is when you know.........THAT'S A GOOD MOVIE!

I think inspite of all the hand held camera movement which was a bit much for some friends of mine with motion sickness issues to take, it was an amazing amalgamation of suspense and humor. Gore and special effects are not scary to me. Realistic events, things that COULD happen in my own home are what frighten me and this movie delivered right up to the very last second. God I pray it comes out on DVD!

My wife and I were lucky enough to go see this in Houston, Texas last night at a midnight showing. What a build up! The movie progressed slowly at first but made me get involved with the characters. There are some funny parts from the boyfriend but nothing can prepare you for the ending. Same style as Blair Witch but less shaky and better acting. I would recommend this to any adult but it's not for kids at all! Enjoy! Tis the season of Halloween anyway!

1st off, don't wait until 30minutes before the movie to get there, it's sold out! I have never been so terrified in my life from a movie. This movie is so scary & so realistic you feel as if you are in the movie. The hair on your entire body will stand up! Silly Based off of True Events antics aside: This was the scariest movie I've seen in YEARS.
By scary, I mean that this was a true horror movie in the classical sense. None of the over-the-top gore effects offered by the recent trend of slasher flicks. This movie gets into your head and messes with it over. and. over.
Which isn't to say that the movie is a constant scare fest. Far from it, actually. There are some genuinely funny moments in the film (a lot, actually). But, the humor just serves to take you down from the edge of your seat so they can put you right back in the next scene.
The effects (what there were of them) were AMAZING... especially if you consider that the entire film was shot in a week and cost only $15,000.00.

I have honestly never really been scared by a movie, but last night when I saw Paranormal Activity, I was so scared i couldn't sleep. The build up to the last half hour is amazing, Each moment something gets a little creepier. The ending was unreal, i almost couldnt watch it.

The movie was fantastic! The plot was well driven by continuous suspensful, and scary events. It was obviously a low-budget film, so there are some weaknesses in the acting, but the film itself is so intense, it will have you sitting on the edge of your seat the entire show. Wow! I wasn't sure what to expect from this movie, I saw the previews and read the hype. I love horror films so I purchased the tickets and went last night with my GF. The entire theatre was packed! Get there early! The movie starts off slow and is very humorous at times but then it takes a dark turn and gradually gets darker and darker until the end. You will be freaked out when you walk out the theatre. My GF didn't even want to talk about it on the way home because she wanted to stop thinkin about it so she could sleep. Definitely a must see, get your tickets and go watch it ASAP

I was very excited to see this movie...but it was just okay. It took forever to get to the climax of the movie. Then once it did. The movie was over. Went to the midhight showing last night which was sold out. I'm very skeptical regarding the paranormal subject but this film did make you think about what happens when you are sleeping. The entire theater screamed many times during the film and you WILL jump or get chills at times. The tough guy next to me was curled up in a ball in his seat by the end of the movie. It's not that you believe the story in the film as much as how you start to wonder how scared you'd be if it really did happen. Do you ever think about what woke you up from a DEAD sleep at 3am and why?????????

This movie is definitely worth seeing. It's a different take on the scary movie/ghost genre and the two main actors are great (don't let the ads promoting this as the next "Blair Witch Project" fool you...this is so much better than that). The entire audience was jumping out of their seats, yelling, and totally freaked out. The movie can also be funny at times, which is a relief that helps ease the tension a little bit, only to shock you and frighten you again unexpectedly. My only complaint is that if you see the full trailer, you know what kind of scary things are going to happen already, as they actually give you a glimpse into quite a few of them.

When horror movies are made, they should be made with this movie in mind. After all of the horrible remakes and lousy straight to video movies, Paranormal Activity reminds us what it's like to be scared, and it was deliciously fun! It had a story, with a background, that was easy to follow and not predictable. The build up was flawless. It was very realistic with moments of terror that made you jump, not because of overly loud music, but because of what was actually going on. This movie was very original and I cannot wait to see more from this writer and director.

Finally after all these years of horror movie obsession I have found a movie that's actually scary. I haven't had a movie have an affect on me since I was 6. I had to consciously try not to think about the movie so I could get to sleep. This movie is effective in what it is trying to accomplish. For me the performances in this film really worked. Every bit of dialog seemed natural. They seemed like a real couple with real problems. The whole movie was that way. Every decision was made to draw you further into this experience and make you believe it's real. I have never experienced a greater sense of suspension of disbelief. I have no complains about this movie except for maybe the ending. Just go see it.

I have seen many horror films that claims to be scary and they have all fallen short and/or being very nausiating. This film takes you to the possibility of things that goes bump in the middle of the night, especially when you sleep. What a concept to delve into a fear that hasn't been awaken since Freddy Kruger and giving it sense of realism of the Blair Witch. Simply a work of genius. One of the scariest movies ever created. Even though I knew it was just a film, the slow and yet steady build up really got to me (and everyone else in the theater). The creators of this film should be very proud of the sound editing, the excellent use of lighting (or lack thereof), and the steady pacing. For a movie that features zero gore, and where you technically never see 'the monster' - it makes anything out of Hollywood look cheesy.
Afterwords, we were all visibly shaken for quite some time. We're all 20-something guys, who all enjoy slasher films with gusto. Even two day later, I'm still sleeping with the lights on, and the bedroom door locked. It is just that scary.

Without a doubt, the best scary movie I have ever seen! I can't imagine another scary movie out-doing this one! In the current climate of horror movies; pretty faces, trendy clothes, screaming women and a linebacker with a knife, its hard to find a horror movie that you don't go into expecting disappointment. I went in to Paranormal Activity expecting something scary and that's exactly what I got. By putting the characters in an environment you just came from and are going back to after the movie and making you think there could be something there....it doesn't take much to put that fear or doubt into a persons mind.

I do not get scared easily by movies. Movies that are real to live happening to real people, and could potentially happen to me are the movies that scare me the most. (I.E. The Exorcist, The Shining, Blair Witch Project) This, like the movies I just mentioned, is not your typical scary movie. No blood, no guts, and nothing that jumps up and scares you. This movie is scary on a deep personal level. It seems so casually taped as if it were done by a real couple. People have complained about the time spent talking, but this is simply making you feel a part of their lives, and building the drama until the climax. The other aspect that made this downright spooky was the lack of any CG. Everything that happens looks real. A must see by all means.

This movie didn't disappoint. A gradual build-up in frightening intensity. By the end, everyone in the theater produced a genuinely terrified scream. My heart was pounding wildly for at least an hour following. Very well done!

I am an avid fan of horror movies and anything else that bumps in the night. It takes a lot to make me jump, and even more to give me some creeped-out goosebumps! When I saw this preview, I had to go. It was well worth the wait because it was so intense. There were no cheesy thrills or terrible special effects. It felt like it could really happen. The last 20 minutes will freak you out because when you're sleeping, you have no clue what's going on right around you. Check it out and enjoy it, but be prepared for a night of no sleep.

Yes, it's true! The men sitting around me in the theater screamed like little girls. To be fair, everyone did.
I drove in from Hammond to Baton Rouge for the midnight show and the line was wrapped around the building. It was well worth the wait. This is by far the scariest movie I have ever seen. In my opinion, it's better than Blair Witch Project.

I was so excited to learn that the PRS guys were making a movie ( I love their show) but have to say that the half of the movie I saw was just so-so ( I have seen scarier episodes of the show). I say "the half of the movie" because I was so motion sick from watching these actors bounce around a camera, I had to leave! I really wish film makers would stop the whole "Blair Witch Project" style, I mean a little is fine but not 90% of the film!! Maybe their next movie will be better or maybe they should give out Dramamine at the door! Still am a PRS fan though!

So glad this movie came to Baton Rouge first. Well worth the wait in the line wrapped around the lobby!
What made this movie so scary is the fact that stuff like this happens in real life. Kind of a slow start, not too shabby acting. Day scenes were good but once it hit night, you knew it was about to be ON! Is it ok if I'm afraid to go to sleep?
