The comparisons to Blair Witch Project are wrong! That movie wasn't scary at all, and they didnt really show anything in it. However this is a true horror movie. The scariest movie I have seen in my adulthood. It starts out slowly and grips you right away. The scary part is even though the plot and scary scenes are extremely basic and generic, it is shown in such a way that it scares the sh_t out of you. All the stories we have hard about hauntings, demons, demonic possessions come true. This movie is a reminder to those who have no faith in God to start asking themselves that who are they gonna get help from if something similar starts happening to them :)

I was very lucky that it was showing it in Washington D.C, this was one of the SCARIEST movies I have EVER seen in my whole life. The whole theater was peeing in their pants. If this movie is playing in your area, you need to see it. This movie did not go slow, I hated the Blair Witch project. This is nothing like the BWP. Guarantee you will love this movie.

This movie was very well done and very scary. The camera style and great acting made the movie realistic to the point that I forgot that I was watching a movie. It felt like this was real footage. This made the movie more interesting and a lot more scary. If you get a chance to see it, definitely go. Still scared and its been twelve hours since i saw it.

WOW, what can I say. Don't get scared easy by movies, but this one had me going. Scared the heck out of me. I'm so glad that finally we have a movie that is actually scary. 'Paranormal Activity' is definitely a Must See Movie! This is one that you have to see in the movies unless you have a good home theater set up. Sound is important much like the movie 'The Others'. You can not wait until it comes out on DVD. The movie was very tense causing nervous laughter by the entire audience throughout the movie as well a screams of shock. I won't detail the plot, but anyone remotely close to a theater showing this has to seriously consider seeing it, unless you are faint of heart. Also order the tickets in advance, my theater sold out very quickly!

I would say that the scariest movies were definetely made back in the 70's and no new movie has been able to beat them. But this one definetely takes it. While I gave this movie 5 stars, in reality I had to deduct one point from it....with its great use of sound effects and visual trickery, it seemed all to real, meanwhile near the end it took you out with the cgi moment. It almost ruined the whole movie for me. But taking in how this cut was not the original I do not know if paramount in all its glory "hollywoodized" it or not. Even so the rest of the film supports my vote for scariest film of all time.

This movie used sound to great advantage in creating a tense and frightening atmosphere. The audience screamed and shuddered at all the right spots. You're always wondering what's down that dark hallway each night. I can't believe garbage like Saw 6 gets a wide release, yet this film has such a limited release. I was so excited to see this movie and truly glad that it didn't disappoint. The atmosphere in the sold out theatre was charged in a positive/expectant way. You could hear a pin drop during all of the night vision scenes. The less you know about the movie going in, the better. It isn't about CG monsters or make-up; all just clever tricks of the camera, and great, honest, and raw human emotions. I loved every moment of it's tight, never a moment wasted, 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Basically the movie definitely had the fear element to it, but it was not scary at all. I found that the actors were playing their roles a little too hard, if that makes any sense. It is on the same lines as the Blair Witch project, but I believe that the Blair Witch project was definitely better, it was SCARY! In that movie, there was no comfort zone, but in this movie there was, which was the humor and characters. I wouldn't recommend this movie at all.

This movie was really ridiculous and not in a funny way. It was completely unrealistic and they never actually committed to figuring out how to handle the spirit infestation. They never contacted a spiritual advisor. It was just too stupid and I think that I am officially done with new horror, because every one of them fails to deliver effective scares.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Finally a movie that delivers! You definitely get an eerie feeling watching this movie. It starts in the begining and lingers all the way to the end of the film. The actors are believable and this, along with excellent special effects, makes the movie a huge success. I found parts of this movie down right chilling. Watching it with others screaching, covering their faces, and gasping enhanced the experience all the more. I left the movie looking over my shoulder, feeling quite a bit uneasy with the ride home, and especially hesitant to hang my foot over the bed. This movie should enthrall all paranormal enthusiasts!

This movie was absolutely the scariest movie I have ever seen. It could convince you that everything in it were real. Aside from the handheld camera and the motion from it, it was made very very well. It's a build up movie so the first half or more of it isn't as intense as the last half an hour but it is well worth the wait.
I would recommend seeing this to anybody. I still can't get it out of my head.

I wouldn't say the best movie of all time! But I would rank it up in the top 5 of all scary movies. The set up was pretty slow, but the movie kept getting better and better as it went on. It looked so real and great sound affects. The last 40 to 30 minutes was the best and the ending was awesome for a scary movie. I like the fact that when the movie was over everyone was racing for the exit. You have to watch it at the mid-night showing. Cause when you get out at 1:45 in the morning and go to a dark quite home it adds to the scariness.
