This was one of those horror movies that didnt need to be overdone with special effects in order to make you feel uneasy. In fact, the lack of music and random cut scenes really created a plausible atmosphere that will keep a lot of people scared at night.

I LOVED this movie because it's so believable! No gore, no nudity, no stupidity. The characters are funny & relatable. You're right there with them as the events get progressively worse. The activity was pretty crazy as well. I'm wondering how they managed to do some of those things on such a low budget.
I started this movie sitting straight up in my seat & ended it curled up with a jacket half covering my eyes. The final scene had me screaming like a banshee & when it was over I was half hysterical. I wasn't the only one though; people were either crying, laughing or shaking. For 2 days I've slept in the living room on the couch with the lights on.
An extreme psychological assault and the most fun I've ever had watching a movie.

I went into this movie thinking it was going to be the most horrifying and scary movie I have ever seen. It wasn't. I'm a huge hardocre scary movie fan. I go to every scary movie that comes out and am always disappointed usually. I will say this was a good movie, I even got goosebumps twice which has never happened before. There isn't any blood, guts, and gore, it's all psychological.
I have read that there are alleged other alternate endings. And one of these alternate endings would have been fantastic in my opinion. I would have given it 5 stars. Good movie and scared most of my friends to death and they are sleeping on the couch or with their lights on!

2 days and I'm still thinking about some of the parts of this movie. Totally enjoyed watching it and it was even better going to see it with friends, who also enjoyed it. Like everyone else, the beginning is slow but it only builds you up to the conclusion. The suggestive fear is great and plays on all of our inner fears "what happens when you sleep?" I know when I got home and went to bed, i did not want my leg hanging off the bed...even though it doest really matter...lol

So many things to say but basically if you don't believe in demons you won't be scared. Very long, drawn out and B-O-R-I-N-G!!! A couple of laughs but too much time between the laughs and supposed scary parts.
If you do believe in demons then the subject matter will make you think and you might be a little scared.

If you like to be scared, this is the movie to see! I was thinking the entire time that this was based on a true story and so it was even more terrifying to me. It reminded me in the beginning of the Blair Witch Project. The constant moving camera was a little nauseating, but bearable. I've never heard such screams in a theatre. It's not for the faint of heart and I definitely would not let any children see it. They would never be able to sleep again.

Mr. Hitchcock would be proud, it's chock full of suggestive terror and unseen things that "go bumb in the night". Trailers can't even begin to prepare you for this. Your mind and imagination is more frightening than anything a Hollywood studio can think up. I watched this movie two days ago and I still can't sleep properly. It's absolutely horrifying. Maybe I'm too critical or maybe everyone just hyped it up too much, but I just thought it was an average movie. I'm a BIG fan of horrors and thrillers. This one was ridiculously slow in the beginning. The last 15 minutes were awesome, but that didn't make up for the other hour plus leading up to it. I wouldn't tell people not to go, but I wouldn't tell them it's a must-see either.

Surprisingly enough.... I think this might be one of the freakiest movies I've seen in the past 5 years! Beginning is a bit dry.... but it sets you up for the rest of the movie. I would recommend this to anyone to give it a try and see how they like it. My friends and I liked it quite a bit!

it has been a while since i have seen a movie that can bring the goosebumps out of my body, this has to be right next to The Exorcist, all scary movies are predictable and don't tend to scare but be gory and have something jump at the screen when everybody knows that it was going to happen, this has brought not only fear but a belief that this can actually happen, it was a simple, straight to the point movie. a must watch for those hardcore horror fanatics, this one actually delivers and keeps you thinking about the small noises that creep at night. highly recommend!!

This movie was CREEPY! It is so close to reality. This is what helps In the creepy factor. The ending is what makes the movie. It has a slow start but Micah makes it funny and keeps your attention. I'm a horror fanatic and it takes a lot to really scare me with a movie. I was completely freaked out by this movie. After watching it, the movie messed with my mind and I was still frightened even hours after I left the theatre. The images and situations from the movie stick with you and it's like a rerun repeating in your head. I watched it a second time with four other friends and they were just as freaked out as I was the first time, including the guys. The second time I watched it, even though I knew what was coming, I still felt fear. This is a must-see and this movie is insane but you're insane if you don't watch it. Definitely giving this movie five stars. Great director, great actors, awesome movie.

I loved this movie, it isn't that often that a true scary movie comes across where you can't predict the ending or parts of the movie. This was one of those mind twisting flicks. The guys in our group were just as nervous as the girls, it was great. People screamed and laughed. This movie was totally worth waiting to see it in the middle of the night, and was still worth the 2 hour trip home (due to traffic in a parking garage in Chicago)

This movie had me hyped since I saw clips from small reviews from film festivals. When I found out it was coming to my town, I was ecstatic. This movie did not disappoint. In fact, to be completely honest, it went above and beyond all expectations. This movie is frightening, believable, and best of all, memorable. Right from the beginning, you believe these characters are real from the way they interact with each other and you are immediately drawn into their world. All of the frights are believable and the best part of this movie is that it's terrifying because it feels like it could actually happen to you. After the third time seeing this movie, I still left the theater shaking. And I definitely plan to see it again.

I would defintiely say this movie freaked me out because it can be realistic. But it was a bit exagerrated when they did the baby powder test. What kind of footprints are that of a chicken? Here's where I lost the interest for a while and then it picked up again with the freaky scary stuff again. The movie did keep people in suspense and afraid of what will happen next, but that powder test scene should have been left out.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

As recommended by a friend, I really believed this movie would fail to exhibit the natural scare effects, some sort of less appealing "Blair With Project" in a sense. However, with the movies constant plot, be it based on true events, let alone be actual clips from peoples lives, this delivered 100%. The movie builds the anticipation and scare, increasing over and over, letting some relax but, lingers even after the movie is done. The night itself becomes one terrifying encounter a person goes through after watching Paranormal Activity, fear of sounds and shapes, odd shadows, the works of a scary movie. To not watch this, is insane.

If you are looking for a never before had experience, keep looking. While the lead actress gave a stellar performance, the reality spin of the movie left something to be desired. After the Blair Witch flop, you think directors would have been gun shy of the documentary/blockbuster approach. The point of a horror movie is to shock, but since the only action that took place in this movie was when the leading roles were fast asleep, the climax scenes became predictable. Rent it? Yes? Movie theater? Only for free.
