Seriously, this movie was a waste of my time. 100 minutes I'll never get back. At first I found the movie entertaining, the wittiness was fun. After awhile you learn that these two people are stupid and what ever happens they have coming. I agree with everyone else when they say more hype than scarey. I think everyone screaming in the movie theater during parts that weren't scrarey ruined it for me. One of the scariest movies I've seen, very realistic. The movie will have you tense up every time they set the camera for bed. Not worth waiting for DVD release, must watch on the big screen. You won't want to sleep alone after this.

I'm not sure what people were expecting fjrom this movie to rate it low, but I thought it was a very well constructed psychological horror film. The acting is very believable, and you definitely get the feeling that you're witnessing events as they were actually recorded. Every time night rolled around, i would take a deep breath and think, 'okay, here we go again'. Go see it and relax. Don't expect the best movie in the world, just enjoy it for what it is.

Bought into the hype a little too much. Good movie worth seeing on the big screen, but it moved pretty slow for much of it. So slow that at one point it was like come on already can something a little more freaky happen. Some good laughs built in throughout the movie which I found more entertaining than the scary parts. This movie leads you on a mental rollercoaster that picks up slowly has a couple sudden drops and a killer ending.
I recommend this highly to anyone who likes dark ghost stories. The acting is great for no-names, though the guy can be stupid at times. But.... doesn't there always have to be at least one stupid person in a horror movie for it to work? (except maybe exorcist, but that is an entirely different level) Go see this one and open your mind and you will be impressed.

Subliminal movies always rock for me...like The Cell, Memento, BWP, and so on. This movie may not have all the special effects and big name stars but lives up to being one heck of a frightful movie. Notice when you read these reviews how only a VERY small hand-full of people say it was either stupid or silly. About 95% of everyone else is saying Paranormal Activity is absolutely terrifying. I'm a part of that 95%. I believe that any kind of movie that can effect me in any sort of way deserves praise, so I went to see it again last night. I have mild anxiety and had to walk out before the end, feeling like I was going to pass out. It's not the movie itself that is scary, it's the idea and the images it plants into your brain. One of my friends claimed she never gets freaked out of movies... She was screaming the last 30 minutes and shaking for about 3 hours afterwards.

This is one of the worst pieces of garbage I've ever seen try to pass itself off as a 'movie'. It started out slow and dull and stayed slow and dull. Many times there will be a point where a movie gets interesting and is still salvageable, but not in Paranormal Activity. I was more scared watching "Anchorman" than this. It was complete and total elementary level fright attempts...a slamming door, footprints, items moved. Big f'ing deal, my dog does that. I'm not a movie snob by any means but this is a colossal waste of time and money. I would've better spent my time getting a bikini wax or maybe having my fingernails pulled out. Both are more enjoyable than this "movie".

Although a bit slow in the beginning, this was a good creepy movie. The dialogue was very realistic, provided comic relief and the main characters did a great job. It was a lot of fun to watch in a fully packed theater with everyone making little comments, gasps and groans, especially when the male lead keeps making stupid mistakes. I prefer this type of movie with weird happenings and scary build-up than a typical slasher horror movie.

Well, the people in charge of publicity get an A+ because they made this lame movie and made it seem like the greatest thing since the Exorcist. Don't waste your money. You will sit there bored for 1-1/2 hours and then might jump in the last minute before it ends and you say to yourself, "is that it?".
