There's a lot of hype for this movie saying it's the "scariest movie ever". I don't think that's true but it's plenty scary enough. It's more fun if you go into it wanting to be scared. It's a little slow to get going but really pays off at the end. You'll probably want to punch the male lead by then, so it's sort of satisfying too what happens, lol.
I came out kind of laughing at the movie but liking the creepiness. I *did* have trouble getting to sleep that night :)
If you get motion sick easily from the "handheld camera" effect (like Cloverfield) you may want to skip though. My bf felt sick the entire movie. :/

This movie is by far one of the best scary movies I've ever seen. Not your typicall blood and Gore which hollywood has turned to with movies like the "Saw" series or "Hostel". This ones up to your own imagination. makes you wonder about what happens when your sleeping.

This movie gave me a headache, i felt dizzy after a while, and i almost threw up in the middle of the movie.. it was not because the movie was TOO SCARY!! it was because the freaking camera MOVED a lot! you remember Cloverfield?? this is that kind of movie, in fact this is way worse than that.. the camera doesn't ever stop moving and shaking.. So yeah I wasted my money and i only got to see maybe 30 mins of the movie..

I LOVED this movie! It's everything you've ever wanted to have happen on Ghost Hunters and more... It's structured on a clever device, but where this movie really excels is in building tension. The bulk of the filming takes place while the two are asleep... our very most vulnerable time and then pairing it with that innate fear of all things that go bump in the night... Brilliant!

This movie was not at all what I expected. i had heard all around that it was really scary supposedly one of the scariest movies ever. Yea right, not even close as a matter of fact it never did scare me. It had its suspenseful moments and some decent comedy, but any true real scare? nope. This movie keeps you on the edge of your seat. Its hard to find a scary movie that does that these days. And i have to say WOW!! its gonna be hard to find a movie that can scare me half to death lol. Small-budget, original & well-made. If you like original horror movies that draw you in and keep you transfixed you do not want to miss this one. From the internet hype and preview I admittedly went with reluctance and was pleasantly surprised by the 99 minutes on the big screen. The "reel" stars of this one are the hand-held camera and the premise itself. The movie moves along at a near-perfect pace and builds tension in spite of what we all know is enfolding. Kudos to Director Peli and his "organic cast". Superb, atmospheric, suspenseful, fun with one of the best "last 5 minutes" in a film this year!

This is one of the better documentary movies that I have seen in a long time. But I think that some parts, like others have said, seemed to have dragged on. I definitely enjoyed it though and may see it again. Though one con of the movie is that, because it dragged on, the time was a bit longer and about halfway through I started to get somewhat restless about it and wished it could have sped up a bit more.

This movie started off slow, but progressed quickly after. At first there were a few thuds, doors slammed, and banging on walls from the entity... then when Micah decides to take control, the entity shows him who's the boss, and steps it waaay up! Left alone in the house with no help, Katie and Micah are left alone as they battle a force unseen, but clearly felt as the hauntings become unbearable-the last scene of the movie will stick in your mind for days! This movie was creepy and genuinely scary, not monster-jump-in-your-face, but the real, inner feeling of being TERRIFIED, and makes you think about what happens in your room when you fall asleep... dont turn out the lights!

This was definately not scary...i thnk the sound effects are what made it creepy but this by far is not a horror movie..i found it to be more comedy then anything.....i felt that it dragged a bit and then when it got to the point it was pretty much over....i got a bit annoyed with the story line.,,how much do u want to go through before enough is enough??? it was ok not scary i guess maybe suspenseful but i did not find horror in this movie at all.....i reccommend it but with medium expectations.......

I love scary movies and I heard so many good reviews that I drove an hour away to see PA. I was disappointed. Don't get me wrong the movie is somewhat interesting and has some creepy parts but it is not and I mean not the scariest movie I've seen. The two other people I went with had the same reaction. I give it a A for effort because it was only a 15000 budget movie, but honestly I've seen scarier things on the Chiller channel. If you haven't seen it wait til the DVD comes out.

Honestly one of the few modern movies I would consider horror. I got legitimate chills from moments of actual terror rather than building suspense with ominous tones before they flash a picture accompanied by a loud noise - though that was certainly a device they opted to include.

I thought this movie was pretty good actually. It is done a la "Blair Witch" meaning through the eyes of one camera lens. It was very well done in that sense for sure. As far as believeability, I would say...oh, about 85% believeability. Again, pretty well done. The ending was a tad trite, but excellent for scares! A great movie for a Friday or Saturday Night with a Group of friends, or with the boyfriend/girlfriend so you have a great reason to snuggle close!

I thought this movie was pretty cool. It plays on your emotions and fears of what would could happen if you were in fact the haunted and was not just inhabiting the house. This is one scary movie! A young San Diego couple set out to document (yes, it plays like a documentary) their haunting, including turning on a camera in their bedroom while they try to sleep. Increasingly weird things begin to happen and the scaring begins to get progressively more intense night after night. You'll never be bored trying to guess what's next in this movie--and the ending is freakishly good. You'll definitely enjoy this movie if you liked "Blair Witch Project" or "Quarantined."

In my opinion, this film was great. I watched it in sterling heights mich, at the AMC theatre, with a sold out crowd. I was able to see the way the packed house reacted to the scares, and suspense. Lots of screams and gasps, and laughs. The film is original, ground breaking and an amazing production for only being shot on a eleven thousand dollar budget. To my suprise, there was alot of humor, yet it didnt distract from the nature of the film. Today this film just broke a world record... this might compete with the blair witch project..might. (in sales)

I did have a nightmare after watching this movie, It was about how bad it was and how I was conned out of $10 a ticket. Whoever developed the hype on this movie deserves and award for the worlds best scam artist. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. Not scary but too late their rich,and were dumb for sucking in.Me and my brothers are going to make a movie like this, but were going to use cell phone footage for worse effect.

This is a fantastic movie that plays on all your primal fears. What is not seen is scarier than what you can see. I must have jumped 4 times or more and I was shaking during some of the more intense scenes. The one-shot from the bedroom where the camera is on at night in wide-angle format will be a classic that will be mimicked for years to come. I highly recommend this movie and I am personally jealous that I did not make this movie myself for $11,000!
