Paranormal Activity could have been edited/condensed into a 30 minute short film rather than what was nothing short of being an unbearable 99 minutes of basically a waste of time. Skip It - it was awful and very disappointing.

I was disappointed overall with the movie, especially with all of the hype surrounding it. I love a great horror movie, and the idea sounded like a lot could be done with it. It definitely had its creepy moments, but those without any imagination will have a problem becuase there isn't any gore or in your face special effects to jar you. I think the pacing might also be an issue for some. A few couples walked out, not because it was too scary for them, but they got bored waiting for the payoff.
The finale is reminiscent of the Blair Witch Project, in that it gives you a creepy ending that will have you thinking about it after its over, but not quite terrifying enough to live up to your expectation.

I thought the movie was great, as a paranormal investigator, I don't scare easily, but I found the movie plausible, which allowed it to get under my skin. The lead up to the climax was well timed.

I saw the trailer to this movie a couple of weeks ago and was immediately hooked. When I found out it was finally out in the theatres I went on opening night. This movie is honestly the best of year and quite honestly one of the best horror movies I have ever seen. It is masterfully shot and the pacing is perfect. It grips you from the beginning and builds slowly. And the ending? WOW!!!! People litterally scream! Its a fantastic movie!

This is the worlds scariest movie. I never saw anything like it, I couldn't stop screaming in the theater, that's how scary it was. I would recommend people to watch this movie and I believe what they were shoeing is real. GO SEE IT XD!!!!

I just saw it and I was so excited to see the movie with my daughter as we LOVE to watch horror and thriller movies. This had more hype than movie. It was very much like Blair Witch and what is more I was motion sick from the camera. It was boring other than the very few incidents that were shown. I did get a little creeped that we saw it on Oct. 11th the same day they found Micha's body.

5 STARS!!! I have always been into scary movies, and depending on the movie and situation of the movie it takes a lot to scare me. This movie was worse than Blair Witch Project and basically the same concept. You sit through the whole thing waiting for something to happen and in the last 3 minutes of the film, it eventually does. To sit through the whole thing watching these people interact was boring and unnecessary. At the end of the movie, I wanted my money back - I was literally angry that I had spent the money and sat through the whole thing.

I was so excited because of the good reviews left. I like horror movies & even like a lot of the cheesy ones that others don't like. This movie was dissapointing though. Maybe it was all the hype leading up to see this movie or maybe it was the fact that I saw it in a packed theater with a bunch of screaming teenagers but I honestly thought the movie was just OK.
It starts off slow but finishes nicely. The acting was good and believable and the hand cam isn't too annoying. But overall I just didn't find it all that scary, creepy, but not scary.
I am an advad horror fan so I have seen alot of them. I had this same opinion with blair witch but once it came out on DVD and I watched in my living room with the lights turned out I found it a lot scarier. Hopefully this will be the case with PA.
So if the theater isnt packed with a bunch of screaming/laughing teenagers it might be a good one!

I have to say I have been scared a bit to go to sleep and I dont get like that usually with scary movies. It was more real and i think that is why. Unexpected ending also. Even knowing what happened at the end I would still watch again.

This was a very low budget film, but with more money and better special effects this movie had the potential to be really scary. I gave it 3 stars because I liked the idea behind it and I thought the acting was good, but I was disappointed in the movie overall...the only scary part that gave me any chills happened at the very end of the movie.
