This is a bit different for me. It brought me back to being a child and having the same things happen to me. I felt like I was reliving this. I had a lot of work done and had many demons removed so I have not had these experiences for a long time. Mine was not to the point of being physically dragged. The only thing that was not believeable was the end. Everything was right on but the end and why didn't they contact anyone else sooner than they did instead of letting this go so long. Two things that seemed a bit much. Other than that, this is real stuff.

After listening to all of the hype on the radio and on TV I wanted to see this movie so bad. I watched it early saturday morning and I was expecting to be terrified but I wasn't. Some of the things that did happen in the movie were a bit scarey but not as much as they made it out to be. I was expecting a lot more. I have to say that the movie was ok but I would wait to watch it on DVD.

I saw the trailer for this and read all the early reviews about it being the "scariest movie ever". I'm a scary movie nut and quickly bought tickets and took my wife to it. I was a sucker for the hype. :) There were 2 or 3 really scary (1 of which was rather disturbing) parts. However, the rest of the movie was rather boring and border-line frustrating at times.
The idea was golden, but the delivery left wanting more fear in my bones when the credits rolled. Kudos for avoiding the cliche horror flick characters and plot! That alone earned this movie the 3rd star.

This movie was definitely worth all the hoops I had to jump through to see it. I was not prepared for the intensity it had so I would say to definitely prepare yourself to be scared to the bone. It was the most chilling and scary movie since the Exorcist and you will definitely have trouble sleeping. But that's what scary movies are suppose to do right?? Excellent movie!!!

I really enjoyed this movie, I am not usually into horror movies but when they could actually happen I am all in. This movie was a similar style to blair witch in that you felt like you were watching a home movie, and towards the end I think my fiance had claw marks in him from me being so scared, it was cool to hear the audience feel the same way!!! This movie was really scary! It wasn't GORY scary like most movies nowadays. It was definitely very creepy and I was tense through the whole movie. Some people in the theater had to leave because they thought it was too intense in some parts, and the girl next to me was close to tears asking her boyfriend "Let's GO! C'mon, let's just LEAVE!"

The movie was very good. The story line and the scary moments were different that it didnt need to use gore or animation that make horror movies now seem fake and predictable. The movie basically gets in your head where you know each night something scary is going to happen, its the suspense and the waiting that really scares you. The ending also is the best part of the movie.

We went early and still had to sit in the front. The hype machine did an excellent job packing the theater but to say the plot had a few holes would be kind. The camera work was atrocious - I understand it is suppose to be an amateur video. But the money spent on the camera for the purpose of accurate filming would lead me to believe the guy would at least try not to spin you around the room every 5 minutes. the night shots were pretty good. And the effects (as few as there were) were tremendous despite being simple and low-cost.

Ok so I've loved seeing scary movie ever since I was 11 and saw the Exorcist. Recently I started watching the TV shows about ghost hunting and stuff and I was really excited about this movie. I can tell you that it's not the same kind of scary as most of the main stream scary movies but it's the kind of scary that makes you think it could happen to you or you remember experiencing something like that. I know that I've heard footsteps and bangs in my house and seen things in a different spot than where I left them. I've never tried the powder cause most of my house is carpet though. This was the highlight of my scary movie resume. Everyone totally needs to find a movie theatre near them or demand it online so they can see it!

My niece whom is 20yrs old recommended this movie to me. So I was excited to see it, however disappointed when I did. The only reason I would give it a one star is because supposedly it is based on true events. There is only about 5 minutes in the movie near the end that anything really ever happens . I can scare pretty easy and this movie didn't do it for me. Save your money and watch it or don't when it comes out on dvd.

My friends and I also drove an hour each way to see this movie in Madison, WI. Let's just say that each and every one of us were disappointed. The previews pretty much give away the whole movie. It was not scary. Creepy at times, but never made me jump. I'm pretty tough on scary movies - So others more soft may have found it scary - But the previews make it look very scary - It's not.

The first 1/2 hr. was kinda boring but the rest of the movie sure made up for it! No movie has ever scared me until I watched Paranormal Activity! I seriously could not sleep. The simplicity of the special effects and the sound effects drove this movie home. They were very believable. The actors did a superb job. I was able to relate and sympathize with the characters and their relationship. My only complaints are the trailer (they gave away too many good parts) and the crowd we watched it with. I hadn't been to the movies on a Friday night in ages, and now I know why. Nothing but teenagers who couldn't keep their mouths shut. This movie thrives on silence, so be sure you watch it with a crowd who will give the movie the silence it deserves. Watch it on a school night.

Took my son to see this movie with me. All I can say was that it was a movie that pulled you in emotionally because you really got to like and care about the characters first. So when the extremely creepy then terrifing stuff starts to happen you feel like your right there with them. All I can add is that at the end of the movie my son and I we're freaked out and felt as though we had been totally drained emotionally.In fact for few minutes after it ended everyone in the theater was just sittng and staring at the screen trying to gather themselve's. It stayed with us for hours after we left the theater! It was as scary as a story could possibly be bar none! If you go to see it be afraid be very afraid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck.

The realistic acting made the movie. Some acting parts were a little iffy. But other than that, its an excellent movie that freaked out the entire audience the whole movie. Everybody has to see it. Horror films usually do not scare me too much, but this film had me from at the edge of my seat to almost jumping behind it for safety.

We were so excited to see this movie was playing near us, we drove 1 hour each way to see this movie & boy were we dissapointed....it just wasn't that scary...we kept waiting for it to get scary but it never realy did....even my 14yo daughter was dissapointed.....save your money & rent it when it comes out on DVD, it is worth a rental but not $10 a ticket..BTW most of the "scary" parts are shown in the trailer.

Most scary movie I've seen in a very long long time! No guts or gore! I got goose bumps; I got chills; I jumped in my seat; I gasped and squealed! This movie really got my adrenaline going. I'm planning on seeing it a second time and for me that is rarer than flying pigs.
