Not since The Exorcist have I felt so disturbed with the thoughts of demons being able to possess a human being. The difference between The Exorcist and Paranormal Activity is that Paranormal Activity makes everything look and feel real. I can still hear the sounds of the "spirit's" footsteps coming up the stairs and Katie's frightening screams. This movie is definitely a must see if you enjoy being kept at the edge of your seat.

This movie was well made for such a low budget, but I was disappointed with the overall film. I felt that the movie dragged and I was waiting for something to happen. For all the hype and good reviews this movie is receiving I felt let down. The only part of the film that lived up to its potential was the last 15 minutes. If the film is not playing in your area I recommend you wait till it either hits theaters near you or you wait till its out on DVD.

I love everything about ghosts. I have been researching on the subject since I was a little girl and have become very familiar with the subject. The movie dragged, there were some scenes that did make sense but the bad acting totally ruined it. I think when Katie was dragged was pretty cool but the ending was horrible! Really? My husband and I went out and saw this. We sat upfront, on the end, which I don't recommend because of the shaky camera when they're walking around, it makes you dizzy. The last 30 minutes of the movie made weren't scary, but definitely hair raising.

I'm STILL sleeping with the lights on after watching this movie over the weekend. Be prepared to laugh, scream, and be scared. There are some authentically funny parts in the film that are meant for you to laugh. Then there are the parts in the film that make you groan in fear. THE scariest film I have EVER seen in my life and I am a horror-film fanatic. Word of advice: in order for this film to have an effect on you, you have to believe in paranormal activity. If not, this movie's premise will fly right over your head and you'll probably HATE it.

I have been recommending this movie to everyone since I left the theater. This movie was the greatest horror film of my lifetime. I have always been a huge fan of the Halloween franchise, I enjoy all of Rob Zombie's B-rated horror films, I've seen all of the Friday the 13th movies, Nightmare on Elm St movies, Exorcist movies, Quarantine (one of the best - in the dark), The Exorcism of Emily Rose, etc etc etc...
Of my list, the Exorcist was the only movie that really stayed with me for longer than a few hours.
If you have any desire to test your wits and / or the staying power of a Horror film, this is the movie for you.

I heard lots of hype about it on the radio and felt the urge to go see it so I dragged my boyfriend to Clifton, NJ. I personally thought the movie was super creepy. It's not scarey but very creepy. The best parts were the last 30 minutes and YES I'm a scarey cat BUT, even my boyfriend was a little WHOA!!! lol. I thought it was a fun movie and absolutely worth watching. I think people who like to go to the movies should go but if your the type to go only for grade A movies with grade A reviews than you can wait till this movie comes out on DVD. By the way, I couldn't sleep that night AT ALL!!!!

" I went to see it with my 3 teenage boys because we are horror movie fanatics. Based on all of their take, they loved it. One of my son would not let go of my arm when they did the bedroom scenes. I personally have told everyone I know to go see it, if they are looking for a scare in the strangest ways. I love the idea of watching a movie without aliens, or infected people that goes around killing, for a change. It's been a while since I have been scared by a so called "horror movie." Nowadays, the plots are so predictable that there is no point of going to watch a scary movie. However, this movie changed my mind. The whole documentary perspective, gives it a more realistic feel, no special effects or computer-made demons. While the beginning was a bit slow and at times unnecessary when it gets to the scary parts, they're really scary. I'd definitely watch this again and can't wait 'til it's released on DVD.

Went with 8 other people.. a couple of them who are scared of their own shadows.. No one.. I repeat, no one in my group was scared.. This is all hype.. I respect what the director did for no money. But this movie is definitely more hype than horror.. Wait for the rental..

Please do yourself a favor and don't waste your money. I was somewhat interested the first 20 minutes. Bored thereafter. There's nothing scary about this movie. You have to be a real naive young kid to think this movie is real or scary. And the ending...?! Two thumbs down. What a waste of time and money.

Lots of hype about it made me want to go see it. Glad I did but once is enough. Good as Blair Witch until I found out BW was not real. Knowing this one was not real takes away from it. If they could have pulled a Blair Witch on this one, would have been creepier, Overall, a good movie...go see for yourself!!

If people walked out of this movie it was due to boredom. I am sure for the average joe/jane who has not actually seen anything remotely paranormal in real life this would scare you, at least a little. The only real action comes in near the end and the ending is way over the top for what little effects have been shown. Camera spinning will leave your head spinning as well. I have seen more things in real life than what has been shown in this movie, too bad.
