The movie had so much hype about how scary it was, etc. that I was totally excited to go see it considering there hasn't been a good scary movie in a really long time. I finally went to see it 3 days ago and couldn't believe how bad/boring it was. Not to mention the movie was NOT scary AT ALL. I couldn't understand why people were actually screaming in the movie. Bottom line, extremely disappointed and it reminds me not to listen to the hype of others.

This movie is completely overrated. 95% of the scary parts are already scene on the trailer and the rest of the movie is filled with poor acting and horrible cliches. If you want to get a good laugh then by all means see this movie but if you are looking for a scary movie this one misses the mark by miles

This movie was a creepy fun time. I love horror movies, but none of them ever scare me. Well this one did. I was clutching the armrests the whole time and my heart was racing. I also had so much fun at the theatre cause everyone was so into it and having a blast. If you like horror movies you will love this. Be warned that you might not be able to sleep for a long while after seeing it. Can't wait for it to come out on dvd.

Ok, I did not do any research and never saw any advertisement on this movie. I went because I overheard it was a good scary movie. After seeing it I actually had to look it up on the internet to see if it was a real or based off a real event. I thought Katie acting was truly believeable. I think that soooo many people are going to be videoing themselfs at night if they think they have a ghost or spirit. I think alot of people believe their houses may be haunted and this touches the basic fear in everyone. I did not go directly to my house after seeing this film, and I saw it a 10 am. I posted on my facebook that I would not recommend any one watch this for the first time before they go to sleep. It most definatley creeped me out!

I loved the slow build. I loved the tension it created... It was a fantastic horror movie set in the most intimate place of our lives.
Paramount bought it with the idea of remaking it. Thankfully they were talked out of that and into releasing essentially the original film.
An original film that cost 11 grand to make.

This movie is way overhyped. I knew way too much about the movie before I went to see it. I watched the trailer a million times. Read a million reviews. Watched people review the movie on youtube, etc. I already knew what was going to happen..so it wasn't surprising. After seeing this movie last night. I have to say that I was seeing myself become scared in my own room. Each night that the night vision would show you, it would just get worse and worse until CLIMAX! I can't spoil it. But it does leave you scared and actually wondering if this was real or possible. Overall, the movie was slow to come on and was funny for the first 45 minutes. When nocturnal phenomenon started happening, you start to realize why you came to see the movie. I recommend this movie for anyone that likes scary movies 'outside' the box that will leave you riveted in your seat.

Paranormal Activity trumps negative opinions in its ability to truly creep people out. One particular moment that people will complain about is the ending. Personally, I thought it was wonderful. As long as you remember the kind of budget the filmmaker had and give it a chance, Paranormal Activity could scare the honest to goodness s*** out of you. The story is well-written, the actors were were hands down believable (especially Katie Featherston), and the execution of the horror was chilling.
Go see this movie. Best choice for a Halloween movie this year!

Usually scary movies are really good or really bad. For that reason, I usually don't see them in the theaters. However, I couldn't resist the hype over this one and checked it out. This movie gives you just enough and let's your imagination do the rest. Also, the suspense is built up so much it is insane. I highly recommend this movie if you want to be freaked out and scared! I had to go home and watch a comedy to get my mind off things. Definitely worth two hours of your time!

Paranormal Activity definitely lived up to all it's hype! Throughtout the entire thing you're wondering if maybe this movie really is made out of some real footage from a haunted couple. I kept waiting for something scary to happen which it never did. Before I knew it the movie was over. Oppresion and Possession was pourly portrayed. Total disapointment. Does Not even deserve 1 star.

disappointing says it best. by FAR not the least bit capable of being "the scariest movie..." did not jump. did not get scared to the core as i was expecting. you really do see everything in the preview, which isn't much. sure, some parts are a little eerie, but not worth it. had a great nights sleep also, don't fall into the drama and hype, you will have seen worse in other movies. dumb.

I thought this movie was extremely entertaining. It is suspenseful and has a very dramatic plot line. For those of you who rated it low, your expectations are too high and you have no imagination. This movie blows Blair Witch out of the water. Great movie!

All the hype for this movie got to me and I caved in.Starts off kinda slow, but you gotta remember what kind of movie it is. Ive heard a lot of people complaining about the horrible acting, but to tell you the truth its as good(or bad) as any other horror movie these days, plus it must be hard to act like if your NOT acting. As far as the scares go, in my opinion they were very well executed. You can be made of stone and it'll still leave you shaken, especially the ending.
