This movie didn't live up to hype. It started very slow,and the audience was laughing at parts that weren't intended to be funny. But the ending almost made me jump out of my seat! Way too much build up to a fairly predictable ending. Wait for the DVD.

My friends and I were so excited to see this movie. It was good. However, I had a little bit of the motion sickness flashback from The Blair Witch Project. If you can get past this, it is very interesting. You do get to know the individuals lifestyle etc...and you cannot help but love Mecka's sarcasm. While it was the kind of movie that made you jump (which I love) it was not the scariest that I have ever seen. But the ending was one that I did not see coming at all. I loved the audience reaction as much as the movie. So for the sake of saying you saw it you might as well give it a shot!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I for one, am not a fan of blood and guts and gore to no end and personally do not enjoy those types of movies. I am about suspense and the unknown and being scared and thought this movie brought these points to the forefront. It did start slow, but came on like gangbusters when the action started. I will recommend this movie to everyone I know, I will rent or purchase it when it's available. Awesome, awesome, awesome!!!!!

Going in my top 5 horror movies, this film lingers with you. If you are into scary movies that are realistic and scare the bejeezus out of you because they can actually happen in real life, then this film is a must see. The events presented are true to real life haunting/possession scenarios. And the audience gets easily involved in the story as the onscreen couple is relatable to at least one relationship each of us has had. Brilliant in an "oh my god, this could soooo happen to me" kind of way.

Maybe with shows like Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters International, and Ghost Adventurers, we've become desensitized to just the everyday haunting. ALOT of hype, for nothing. The best parts of the movie were in the trailer. You knew when things were going to happen. Theater full of teenagers screaming at everything.....and talking over everything. Should've saved myself the $23 and waited for it to come out on HBO.

I have never been so afraid of something that I couldn't see before. At first I thought it wasn't going to be worth by money because of the slow beginning, but I suppose a good documentary type filming would start like that. When the action started though the entire audience was clinging to each other. I was still in terror shock, all the 30minutes home plus some. It was so scary that at one part I actually screamed in the theatre and I try to never do that....You should go see it!

So I took four friends to see this movie with great hopes of ENTERTAINMENT. I have always been a Sundance Film fan; but this one missed the boat. The movie itself was ok...it was slow, but the parts that were scary were genuinely freaky - especially thinking how I would feel if they happened to me. It was a little predictable though - I knew when scary things were going to happen...and I usually don't forsee things coming in a movie. However, the audience ruined it! Everytime the guy picked up the camera, people laughed - everytime anything remotely scary happened, they screamed at the top of their lungs...people started talking when the lights would go off or come on (in the movie) - this would have been much scarier if I had seen it at home with just my husband.

Loved it! Kind made it hard to sleep the night I saw it but was an awesome movie!! I love that it had moments of silence where you were forced to pay attention and it made the anticipation much much more!. There was no stupid scary movie music and the acting seemed real. After all the hype I heard about this movie "OMG, I CAN'T SLEEP AT NIGHT.. SO SCARED!!" I was pretty disappointed that I slept fine and dreamed better than ever last night. Yet another movie where all the good parts are displayed in the previews. This was ok for someone who is not really into the paranormal movies and hasn't seen many of them, but for a Vet like myself whose favorite TV channel IS the paranormal channel, this movie fell short to it's expectations. However, props to the PR team and Marketing people.

The realism of this movie brought me much fright. I found myself morbidly looking forward to each night just to see how much more the entity was going to push the couple.
If you have ever gotten scared at night alone in bed for whatever reason---ghost, demon, home invader, then this movie will take it to an entirely new level for you.
With that said, if you dont believe in demons, this might not be the movie for you. And when I say demons I mean a demonic force driven to terrorize through terrifying, messed up psychological ways.

The story development is pretty thin, but overall this was a great movie. I saw it in a theater full of teenagers and was worried they would talk or text though the movie. Not a single one did - we were all riveted. Could not sleep well the night after; every creak the house made freaked me out. Starts out slow, but it picks up and makes up for it after 30-45 minutes.

I would definitely recommend this movie. It plays on your personal fears and anticipation. I enjoy all types of scary movies, including Saw movies. Some reviewers say if you like Saw you won't like this one, but I really enjoyed it. Had a difficult time sleeping that night. It is really scary if you have ever had these types of experiences personally. Wasn't the scariest I've seen, but would rate it in my top 5-10. When you are watching it you feel like you are really watching their home video.

I watched this movie two nights ago and I'm still having trouble sleeping. Nightmares, chills... even hallucinations! Not for the faint of heart, but definitely a new horror classic!!!
