I'm a big horror fan so I was aprehensive seeing a movie that claims to be the scariest. I've been down that road too many times and have been disappointed. This was no exception. I didn't find the movie to be scary but it did a good job building suspense. The only down side to that is that it took too long to get there and I got bored. I would recommend this to friends who I know scare easily but not to my ghoul friends who are horror fanatics like myself. I will said once the movie hits its peak, they hit a home run with it but for me, it was just a little too late.

It was alright. The Blair Witch Project actually scared me more. This movie is definitely worth the matinee but not the evening price. There were a few good scares in it but overall, you end up so frustrated at the simplicity of the characters (and the obvious outcome) that you cannot let yourself focus enough to be scared.

In short: Good movie. If you enjoy the horror genre as opposed to the blood/guts type slasher films - you will like this movie. This is a movie that when you go into , you need to think 'real life'. No CGI , fake blood, pyrotechnics - a camera that films events and dialogue of real people. My wife and i liked it because we felt like we could relate to the characters; their humor, dialogue etc. and that drew us in at first. What we find scary about horror movies are things that can really happen like this move or the exorcist etc. This movie was good; simple dialogue that built the story, suspense and intrigue that pulled you in, and scares that may cause you to lose sleep at night.

I thought the movie was excellent. Definitely on the lines of the blair witch in it's film style. The simplicity made it terrifying... limited effects made it feel like it could really happen. Unfortunately the audience's reaction took away from the sensory experience of the movie. I recommened when it comes out on dvd that you rent it and sit in the quiet and the dark and see where it takes you. Still a great movie!

I was skeptical that this movie wouldn't live up to the hype. Although it wasn't the scariest movie I ever saw, I thought it was well done. The terror built slowly and you could have heard a pin drop in the theater. The ending was a real "scream!"

Wow, was this movie hyped up! Absolutely nothing happens until the last two minutes. It was a bunch of walking around and talking for 99 minutes. Also, it was filmed using a hand held camera, which makes me sick. There should be some sort of warning for this before you pay your $11 and suffer through the movie. There were a few funny parts, but the audience in the theatre was way more entertaining than this dull, boring movie!! Save your money....don't see it!

I'm sure the movie storyline is good. However, if you get motion sickness this is not going to be the movie you want to see. Camera is jerky through out the whole movie. If someone would have told me this movie was made with a bunch of movement with the camera, I probably would not have attempted to see it. I'm not scared easily but this movie really had me shaken! The only reason why I don't give it 5 stars is because there were so slow moments that kind of lost my attention. Perhaps that was the intent of the director because you're kinda not paying attention and then something REALLY scary happens and its pretty intense.

No tension, no fear, and not much happening. Don't know what all the hype was about. Had more laughs than frights. A good idea, that as with most horror movies, fails to deliver. If you want a scare, rent Blair Witch or The Exorcist. The walk back to the car was better! Wait for DVD with this one.

Sci Fi thriller up there with Poltergeist, Blair Witch, Sixth Sense. I liked the raw production of the film - only four characters, filmed entirely with hand-held camera, no music, no special effects - terrifying.
I'm typically a cinema snob and agree with critics more often than popular poles but this movie was tremendous. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

This "film" started off much like the "Blair Witch Project" with its shaky camera and bad acting. The movie seemed to jump around, and the footage taken at their home seemed edited too often in parts to keep my attention. During the paranormal moments, I was bored and awaiting the films closure so that I could leave. I was a little disappointed. Thought after all the hype that it might be horribly scary but for the first 90 minutes it's like the Blair Witch movie was...Just people talking to the camera in various boring and annoying ways with very little going on to scare you. And then at the very end you get a big scare. I appreciate that it was done on such a small budget and has made a lot of money for the filmmakers. But the script has a lot of silliness, as all horror movies do I suppose, but overall just didn't do anything for me. Other people in the theatre seemed to enjoy it though.

This was really not a bad movie. At first review, you think this is going to be like Ghost Hunters on Sci-Fi, but it isn't. There are some slow moments that are sort of needed for the story line. The intense moments were pretty intense. For the most part, you know when to expect something is going to happen, but there are a few surprises along the way. The best advise I could give anyone who watches this is, Don't keep your eyes fixed on the bed during the sleep scenes. There is activity off to your left that some people miss by only watching the couple in bed. The ending, was sort of a surprise in part. It was abrupt and keeps you guessing on what could be next. I would see it again, and even add it to my quite extensive video collection.

I've seen it 3 times already. I loved everything about it. Sure, not everyone is going to be on board. Such is the nature of entertainment and art. I just know that I've been a horror fan my whole life (37 years old, so I'm no "high school kid") and this is easily one of my favourites of all-time.

Certainly not worth all of the hype this movie has generated. Unless you're an idiot high school kid, I don't recommend this movie at all.
It took until the last 25 mins or so for this movie to become interesting. Sure. there were some strange things going on, but not as interesting until the last segments of the film. It was very slow to get to the point. The smart-a** boyfriend and the last scene were the only two things from this movie not totally sucking a fat one.

Finally a movie that isn't about unbelievable characters, blood, guts, a murderer etc. This could be a real life haunting something believable and scary...made me think it really happened in real life the way it started and ended LOVE IT!!! I was so excited about going to see this movie, but after an hour there was still no action...VERY slow moving and all the action that was on the trailers, that was it...ALL the action that was in the movie itself. These events caused a brief startle but than laughter because of how lame it was...what a disappointment!

Well.... it isn't VERY scary per say, but it definitely has a high suspense level (which I love)...so the times there were potentially scary things happening, I got super scared! I did close my eyes a lot...and this movie has a lot of comedyy in it (micah) he's funny haha. umm...overall, I wish the ending had more plot to it. but it did scare me. so that was the goal!

It is actually an OK movie...it is amaturish camera work the entire movie, take a dramamine before you go if you do tend to get motion sick; the best part of the movie is the last 20-minutes; you will not want to sleep with your toes peeping out from under your sheets anymore!
Katie & Mikah purchase a semi-pro camera to film the thumps & bumps going on in the night while they sleep. You find out that Katie has been haunted since the age of 8; Mikah taunts the entity against Katies wishes; the events continue to get creepier/scarier and just when Katie & Mikah start to take it seriously it is too late for them to do anything to stop it.

I loved this movie.....i am very into paranormal shows and i made my friend thats scared of this stuff go with me....lol.........i would definitely recommend this movie to anyone, especially if you are into it.......the end will just blow you away.....................

The movie was slow in the beginning and then just turned creepy. Camera was not steady so I had to look down a few times. When the movies got quiet my eyes were wide open as I did not want to miss a thing (demon). Mid way through it did get better as more things were happening. I did not have a problem sleeping. My 13 year old son on the other hand sleep on our bedroom floor. At the end I wanted more.
