Very tripped out and creepy, they do an excellent job at keeping you on the edge of your seat. They address everybody's fear of hearing those "strange" noises in the night and play it out in everybody's worst nightmare. Go see it.

Not scary whatsoever, I had a very hard time staying awake throughout the beginning of it...there were a few scenes that were nail biters but not nothing terrifying....I do have to say the last 15 minutes of this was the best.

My friend has been looking forward to seeing this movie since seeing the advertising! We were totally suprised and the movie did deliver some creepy, disturbing scenes. I'm not much on the genre, but I have to say, it did keep my attention and it did have suspense! What a great time to enjoy this movie with Halloween coming!

After my initial reactions to the cornball previews & thinking this was just going to be another mindless, hack excuse of a horror movie for balloonheads, the word started getting around that Steven Spielberg saw this movie and backed its nationwide release. That cast the whole thing in a new light, so my friend & I decided to see it. Surprisingly good & genuinely creepy for a low-budget fright flick. Will appeal to fans of THE ENTITY, which is actually based on a true story.

I was hoping for a better scare - maybe more follow through. I don't know what it was missing, but it really didn't do anything for me. There were a few suspenseful moments, but it certainly wasn't the scariest movie I've ever seen. I don't like gory movies - just suspense. I've seen some good ones, but this isn't it.

The popcorn was really good. The movie was really really awful, Worst movie ever, worse than Plan 9. Dozed off in middle, nothing happened till end, cheap camera rush effect. Do not waste money or time. Totally not scary....don't waste your time. I scare easily, and except for 1 or 2 creepy moments, this movie was lame. My husband rolled his eyes and made fun of me all the way home because I had told him it was supposed to be one of the scariest movies he would ever see. THe movie is a more subtle, creepy sort of scary. But the kind of scary where you think, oh my God, this could actually happen! People are saying that it's "Slow". Um, hello, that's called building up a storyline.

worth the price, and drive. must be seen with an audence, crowd. the people around us were terrified. Before Blair Witch I read there were no special effects or camera tricks. so it was ruined for me. This is good, but if your going to see it, stop watching the commericals NOW ! or it will ruin it. if you dont see it in the movies, make sure you turn your sound up on your tube. The movie is edited, because you are supposed to be viewing archive footage. remember its a movie. dont be thinking " why would they be sleeping with the door open". They had to, ITS A MOVIE ! go see it. for 99 minutes it keeps you interested.

I really wanted to like this movie. I love a good creepy movie and perfer it to the gory movies. You know, the really good ones that mess with your mind. I was actually looking forward to being so frightened that I would have to leave the lights on that night, but alas that wasn't the case. The movie started out slow, but I sat patiently waiting for something ... anything ... that would really scare me, other than a couple of loud noises to make me jump, nothing to mess with the mind ever happened. This movie is NOT scary. In fact, it's rather goofy. As far as a movie made on a small budget, with a handheld camera, and a scary subject, The Blair Witch Project was much scarier. Sorry, but I did not find this movie one bit scary. I will give it credit... the acting was very good, it had a decent plot, and it was well-marketed ( I would have never bothered to go see it if it weren't for all the hype)... but one of the scariest movies ever?? NO WAY! ! In fact, I found myself rather bored, and nearly dozed off a couple of times. It moved too slowly, ..too much time between the things that happened, and (until the end), nothing much happened when it did. Also, it was filmed in documentery style, which made it interesting, but the shakiness of the camera in most of the scenes was very annoying. Overall, it was a decent movie, but definately a let-down in the "scary" department.

About an hour of "shakey-cam" with an occasional burst of "thump bump what was that?" (guess these folks never had cats or dogs) and a wee bit of "that's creepy." Certainly not any "scariest movie ever."
I applaud the film-makers for taking an eight minute concept that feels better suited to being four separate two minute videos on one of those "post it yourself" sites and stretching it to a grueling 1 hour 39 minutes.
I also applaud those promoting the film for getting me into the theater despite my inner voice telling me "the people who think this is cool just are too young to even remember "Blair Witch.'"
I'll never get that 1 hour 39 back.

My wife and I enjoyed this film. There was a young crowd in the theater who thoroughly added a fun dimension to the experience. The video camera point of view, allthough not a new tool, glued you to your seat. Upon returning home if you don't find yourself listening for noises and catching shadows out of the corners of your eyes, then you didn't allow yourself to get absorbed into the film. This was a good movie to see around Halloween, without all the in your face gore of a typical horror movie. Nicely done.

Worth renting, not worth going out to see. Definitely not one of the scariest movies out there. After all the hype about this movie, it was a complete letdown.

for all the hype that came with this movie.....and ppl saying it's the scariest in years. honestly, I was SEVERLY disappointed, and so were the other two guests that were with me. We were all expecting to be scared to go to sleep and seriously, I didn't even jump or get spooked during the movie once. so disappointing. i was expecting more from this movie the way ppl were talking. i would NOT have wasted $30 going to see it if i knew it was this boring. you spend most of the movie WAITING FOR SOMETHING TO HAPPEN. DUMB!!!!!!!!!!!

This movie was an overwhelming disappointment. I felt that I had been totally scammed by the reviews which promoted it as the scariest movie ever. That is so far from the truth. It was just plain lame, and the audience laughed during all the parts that were supposed to be scary. This movie is only scary to people who are afraid of their own shadows..or 5 year olds. Don't bother with this film...a complete BORE!!!

I agree.. For all the build up for this movie and me rushing o get tickets when it came to my city so i wouldn't miss this mind blowing experience.. I am very DISAPPOINTED! This was far from scary, in fact at some times boring. The most interesting part was the boyfriend he was really funny. Then there was the end that made me jump but that was IT. I was SOOOOO excited to see this!!! Im soo let down. Thanks Paramount.. but you made your money so its all good. I would rent this movie people.. Dont pay expensive theater prices for this one. I recommend people to see it but dont expect to be highly impressed
