I left insulted; at least the Blair Witch Project was able to build real suspense...I am certain that the average person has had much more interesting paranormal experiences in their own life than were shown in this film. This is a movie I will probably never own on DVD. When I say this movie is scary, THIS MOVIE IS DEAD SCARY! and the fact it was in a documentary style made the movie so much more life like......when i saw this movie grown men were screaming and women were crying to the point they had to leave....everytime it turned nighttime in the movie i had my hands over my eyes. my advice if you live alone don't watch it....you will be paranoid for a week.....i ddnt sleep till 530 am the next morning.......truly a scary movie!

The first minute I witnessed the shaky amateur camera shots that sent my stomach into a twirl, I knew I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. This is either a "You love it movie" or "You hate it movie" in my opinion. To those people out there who put down and trash this movie you should open up more. You went into this movie with to high of expectations. This movie cost only 15grand to make and i think they did a great job making it seem real and creepy. The best part about it, its not like a typical scary/horror film. These kind of events happen in real life and that's what makes it creepy. Go see it. I never saw my friend freak out and curse so much. Be open to it and go in with a low expectation and Prepared to be scared.

An "old school" horror/thriller that focuses on the imagination for gasps and suspense and without the gratuitous violence, blood and gore. It is similar but better than Blair Witch. You definitely need to see this on the big screen with a decent audience turnout.

This movie reminded me of Blair Witch. Watching this movie made me nauseous because of how it was filmed. The beginning was slow and boring. The Ouija Board catching on fire added nothing to the plot, and the guy who kept filming the events in the house when he should have hauled his butt out of it was making a stupid choice. Paranormal is an absolutely fantastic psychological thriller. Perhaps it is because it seems so realistic: the actors look and act like normal, real people, their house looks like any of our houses, it is filmed as an amateur would, and their story is oddly believable. The suspense is incredible. Not a single person left the theater who wasn't scared or disturbed by this movie...it was worth every penny of my 8 dollars to see it on the big screen. It is hard to explain this movie's true appeal...you must see it for yourself. You WILL be afraid to walk into your house when you go home, whether it scared you or not. Truly a breath of fresh air into a trite, hackneyed genre of film...the new standard for psychological thriller has been set

Wasn't impressed at first and even walked out not feeling very scared, but I was apparently more disturbed than I thought. Woke up about 1:00 in the morning screaming from a nightmare. Was scared the rest of the night and just kind of creeped out all day today. We watch a lot of scary movies and never are really bothered by any of them. This is a must see!

Have Americans forgotten what to do when they go to the movies? Sit down, eat your popcorn, be quiet and enjoy the show. Doing this also allows OTHERS to enjoy the show. Camera perspective made me sick. If you can stick through the first half of the movie it gets better..not good enough to cover my ticket good but not bad enough to make me walk out. This was the absolute worst movie of all time...it is the only movie I have ever seen where I literally wanted to ask for my money back. Cannot see how it made it to theaters, it is not even worth starting out as a DVD. BAD, BAD, the WORST MOVIE!!! I am a scarry movie nut, but I never experienced anything scarry about this movie the whole boring time I was sitting there begging my eyes to stay open.

I got to go see it with my boyfriend. As it started it was funny and boring in most parts of the movie. The couple of parts that happened while they were sleeping were the most scariest thing I had ever watched. I started to get real sick during the movie and so did my boyfriend. We both had a feeling like we just wanted to puke and felt really light-headed. One thing I would not want to see it again.

I guess I got caught up in the hype, but I was severely disappointed. The majority of it was okay -- not exceptionally scary, but it definitely had my attention -- but they completely ruined that good thing they had going by falling back on some really half-hearted demonic possession hoo-hah. It felt like such a cop out. The first words out of my mouth at the end of the movie were literally "is that it? That's the whole thing?" I kept waiting for something that wasn't reminiscent of a cheap flash internet prank, but then the theater lights came on and I went home.

This movie created a geniune atmosphere of suspense...the 'freakier' moments have and will continue have had residual effects on me...very entertaining, the slower parts were made up for by the depth of the characters (all four of them).
