This movie is rated PG-13 for a reason. Yet, I watched as about 20 giggling children (between the ages of 4 and 12) took seats in a matinee showing on July 3rd.
Yes--the adults should've paid attention to the ratings system. But--the movie is based on a much beloved series of toys. The belief that a children's toy movie can't be THAT bad, wins out in the end. Much to the embarrassment of naive parents.
Anybody who loathed the "lubrication" scenes in the first movie; will loathe "Mojo's domination" and "Wheelie" humping "Mikeala's" leg. It's too bad that a handful of instances, that lasted no more than a few seconds each; managed to detract from what was, imo, a good popcorn movie.

This was great as far as action goes - full of non-stop running and jumping and explosions. However, language and some scenes were added for no apparent reason - I'm thinking of the dogs mostly, and the incident with Wheelie and Megan's leg. I took my son and daughter to see it and wish that I had waited for the DVD so I could skip past those parts.
As far as action goes, it was great. The gratuitous dog scenes just really skewed this movie to an older kid demographic, as opposed to the first movie.

Harry Potter, you definitely have one to beat here. I am a fan of Harry Potter, but this sequel to the original transformer movie was down right outrageous. A MUST SEE. This is going to be a close running between Harry Potter and Transformers for top spot.

Closeup scenes of Transformers transforming were eye-blurring and not easy to watch...Suggest backing off of camera so its enjoyable and not visually distracting! Deemphasizing deaths of American or foreign solders not acceptable... Too similar to video gaming... I disagree with complaining parents, its rated PG-13... so parents ACT accordingly...

This was totally better then the first one. There were bigger better robots and a few of the scenes even got me teary eyed. There were definitely more transformers and I hope to see a Transformers III. GREAT MOVIE!!

Without a doubt the BEST action film I have ever seen, and I have seen them all! Great story line, good character development, very funny, and constant action. And the special effects are so real you are right there with them! New Autobots add great comic relief. They don't waste any time catching you up if you haven't seen the first one, but you'll figure it out. You might miss a few jokes, though.

I took my 13 yr old to see it before I took my younger kids. Thankfully.
Some stuff in here that i wouldn't want my 7 yr old seeing, and more importantly repeating. The movie itself is wonderful with almost nonstop action. The few places where Shia and Megan are 'together' were done well and not too graphic. Its the dog humping and language that were out of place and almost looked to be added for no purpose.
the little kids will see it on DVD when I can FF past some of those scenes.

I can see why the NY & LA reviewers didn't like this. You couldn't imagine a more patriotic morality play than this movie. It's never convenient to serve a cause greater than yourself, but it's always the right thing to do.

This movie has more action than the first. Some of the close-in fighting was pretty hectic and hard to see the details of what is going on, but overall the fighting and action was well-done and very enjoyable. The acting from the humans was all good. The comic relief of the "twin autobots" was silly and kind of out-of-place. Stereotyping is kind of large and in your face in this movie, especially with the robots. Some unbelievable moments, but I guess that is to be expected in a movie like this. Some cheesy one-liners are placed throughout to keep the comedy aspect in check. Megan Fox is of course as hot as ever. Shia LaBeouf was solid as usual. John Turturro played a more comical role, which he pulled off very well and I liked his role.

Amazing! Long movie but there was tons of action and they incorporated so much more of the robots that it makes you feel like a kid again sneaking into an action packed movie that you aren't quite old enough to see. Would definately see it again!

Cool fight scenes, awful filler and plot content. I swear, the producers and screen writers think you're stupid. They think campiness, dopey character development, and goofball BS is going to make this movie more palatable than the last, which was good. Sahara is MUCH better than this. There are 4 or 5 bots in this movie who all have the same personality, act the same, and have the same voice. Same old dopey teenage actors, too. Not enough of the new bots though. Typical Hollywood tripe which resulted in way above average action. Go for the fighting if you have to see it. If they stuck with how the cartoon handled itself, more bots/less people and the plot, it might have been much better.
Oh yeah... it's long... Lord of the Rings long.

This was a great movie to watch. The graphics were even better, great action scenes, and Megan Fox is a hottie. In contrast I must say that there was more profanity than I thought I would hear and some verbiage could have been left out. I would recommend this movie to a friend, especially to watch it in IMAX, but it wont be to appropiate for children.

Overall this movie was good. Too many lovescenes with inuendo overtones though for a movie derived from a kids cartoon. The drug reference was unacceptable and not needed.

I loved the movie, the actions scenes were great as well as the hard work that went into the graphics. The storyline was also pretty good. But it didn't live up to the first film. Also, there was more profanity in this film than the first, and more "suggestive" content that I'm not sure parents would like for their children. Maybe I'm a little old school but such things could've been left out, thats why I give four stars instead of five. BUT overall the movie is great and I'd recommend it to other viewers who don't mind profanity and "suggestive" content.
