I took 12 year old and 8 year old boys. The 8 year old loved it, but not the twelve year old. The PG rating and the trailers made it seem better than what it was(a played out theme with great effects and quality) I would only recommend it for younger children, the older ones will find it a bit silly.

Amusing & diverting presentation of a recurrent theme. The animal characters were realistically presented & well-voiced. All had engaging personalities which seemed to delight the children (& most of the adults) in the audience. I did not see the film in 3-D; however, I wish I had, because many of the effects seemed calculated to be presented in an advanced format. Great fun for kids - all the way from one's first to second childhood.

Used this for a b-day party for my 9 yr old daughter. They all LOVED it. I thought the action (with fire and broken glass, etc) - was a bit much for the kiddoes, but no more violent than a typical pixar/disney movie. The guinea pigs were cute. There was an underlying plot involving human secret agents, etc. This took up more of the movie than I expected - may not be good for really young kids - it may lose their attention span during this part. Overall, cute. We will probably add it to our DVD collection one of these days.

I brought our 5 and 7 yr old kids to see it. The theater did not have the 3D technology which wasn't really an issue. There was a fair amount of overstimulating action without having the 3D. I just didn't think it was that funny or overly creative. The kids said it was okay. The theater was really dirty with uncomfortable seats and bad sound issues which made it worse.

Save your money & don't see it in 3D. Not a whole lot of 3D action to write about, in fact I can't remember one 3D scene. Overall the movie was a good summer flick for kids. Nothing offensive, a good movie the whole family will enjoy.
