My wife an I really felt inspired after watching this movie and it also made me think about the children that are hurt by their parent's mistakes.

This is definitely a comedy and the audience laughed throughout, at appropriate times. However, it deals with serious topics that I suppose some might depressing. If you focus on that, you miss the whole point that despite bad times, there is always hope. The casting/acting was PERFECT. The writing was true to life. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the ending was a little cheesy. With such a beautiful beginning I had high hopes the ending would follow suit, but I was slightly disappointed. Other than that, I highly recommend it. Even though it's PG, I think some children might be bored by the quiet moments, which I found charming.

I took three of my teen daughters to see this movie. It was a little slow but the cinematography was interesting. There is a lot of music in the film; some of it was helpful, but at times the music was depressing to the point of distraction. Probably my favorite part is the persistence of Henry's neighbor and that people don't give up on him. I disagree with the genre, though; Henry Poole is hardly a comedy. Theologically I have some trouble with the details in this movie, but its overall message of hope is a good one.

This movie will make you cry and smile. Language could have been cleaned up. Uses God's name in vain several times and the word s**t, but it is probably a very realistic example of how someone like Henry would really talk in those circumstances. The movie should be seen because the message of faith is compelling. I don't agree with the "image" and it bringing healing. The truth is that Christ brings healing, so don't be afraid to put your trust in Him! Would see this movie again.

I dragged my best friend to see this movie, I have been wanting to see it since first hearing about it back in January. Due to the limited release, this required a nearly 2 hour drive each way.
I don't want to give much of the details away... I can only tell you that it is a very simple movie that doesn't allow itself to get lost in unimportant details. I loved the movie, the cast was fabulous, and I walked away so glad that I had invested the time to drive the distance.
I highly recommend this movie... especially for anyone who wants to be reminded that there is more to life than the surface.

To start off, if i could give this movie no stars, i would. I just saw this movie and was very unhappy with the content of it. I dont agree that it is listed as PG movie. There were several occations where language was used and God's name was used in vain. It is important to know that this movie is NOT A COMEDY. Im not really sure who came up with that. As in spirituality, it seemed that this movie was not made clearly. i walked out confused on what its purpose was-and i am a christian. although the movie has symbolism to the christian faith, it didnt seem to line up with biblical teaching. It seemed to be contradictory to the fact that when searching for God, you dont have to be somewhere specific or do a "ritual" to experience Him.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
