My children really enjoyed the movie. I would hear awwwws and gasps as well as laughter throughout the entire movie. I think the movie was really cute. It did have some sad parts in it but overall was funny and a good movie to take your children to see.

This is an excellent movie for sheer entertainment. It was both funny and sad, and it kept your interest and piqued your curiosity every step of the way. I was amused that the Hero looked like Spencer Tracy and the villain looked like Kirk Douglas ... very creative!

I took the wife, my daughter and one of her friends to this movie, without really knowing much about it.
What impressed me was the appeal Up had for all of us.
Some have commented that there are sad parts to the movie. True--it does. But the overall messages were powerful and positive: chase your dreams no matter what life throws at you, and take time to enjoy the little things you have.
It has its funny, ridiculous moments, mixed in with very heart-warming and touching moments -- Much life real life!

This film is definitely worth seeing, especially with kids. The story line is very creative, bordering on bizarre so you have no idea what's coming next. Wonderful ending. With that said, 2 caveats: there are a few sad scenes that I wish had not been in there (death of old man's wife, old man attacks and injures an innocent person). And having seen all Pixar movies multiple times, this is not their best. This one is more for older kids, 8+. Maybe with all the hype I was expecting too much.

I took my six-year-old daugther to see "Up" yesterday, and we both loved it. Very imaginative, well-written, well-paced, excellent animation. The sensitive, rounded portrayal of a senior citizen was also refreshing. And the dogs were hilarious - if, at times, a little scary. This is a kids movie that an adult can certainly enjoy.

‘Up’ says a lot with few words. It makes good use of moving images and animation to tell the story and to draw you in to the nostalgia, adventure, fun, disappointment, and innocence of the characters. They did such a good job of making the ‘alpha male’ dog look realistic that it might be scary to very young children. Otherwise I would recommend it for anyone to see. I felt like I was floating long after I left the theater. 4 1/2 Stars.

I had fairly high expectations, because I love animated movies. This one? I will not recommend it to anyone. The plot was terrible. After half of the film, I was tempted to leave. Honestly, why get talking dogs and birds involved??? They don't fit at all. I heard people in the auditorium laugh TWICE!!! My 12 year old daughter was as disappointed as I was. The film could have ended before Kevin the bird surfaced. The old man should have reached his destination with the house and then maybe the boy scout could have gone to the Honor badge ceremony with the old man. There were a lot of unnecessary stretching the film parts. The trailers had been promising. Sad.

I'm amazed how good computer animation is getting. Thinking back to the first time I saw it featured in the Dire Straits Music Video back in 83' its great to see how its progressed.
I'm not a big fan of Ed Asner since my cab driving friend told me what a cheap/non tipper he turned out to be after blathering on about what a big-shot he was the whole ride. But he brings some depth to this role.
Also, Pete Doctor shows that you can have cartoon and compelling story at the same time. Kudos.

This movie is nothing like the funny, action packing commercial....very sad and not a happy image to paint for children. There are a couple humorous moments, but they are mostly what you see in the commercial. My 5 year old daughter did not like it and I didn't like the tone, very sad moments, almost in tears. I thought this was a good movie. A movie that people can actually relate to. I took my kids ages 2 & 4 and they love the entire movie. I would recommend this is an entire family movie. Good Job !

I thought that up was an ok movie. I think its more for the age group of 7 and up. Kids would find the dog parts very funny. It was funny at some parts and sad at others but overall ok movie. Worth seeing in the theaters and maybe when it comes out to dvd renting the movie is a good choice!

This is a nice movie to take your kids to of ages between 3 years and 8 years . Great message to kids and a funny at the same time. My son enjoyed the movie.
