My favorite Disney movie has been The Little Mermaid for years, and it remains my favorite Disney musical. However, Up works on so many levels I must enthusiastically recommend it to anyone looking for an excellent film.
This film deals with friendship, love, grief, loss, disappointment, anger, jealousy, aging, courage, adventure... in a format that appeals to all ages.
I loved the way that the villain's minions (dogs) were presented as both terrifying and with natural flaws/weaknesses. It made the escapes more believable.
Pixar's images were stunning as always. But the best part of this movie is the plot, the characters, and the changes they go through as they grow. This really does deserve the rumored Best Picture Oscar.

UP starts out to be quite charming and beautifully crafted for the first ten minutes or so. Then it takes a sudden, and unexplained turn for towards crazy and ill thought out which sends the viewer on a very bizzare fantasy ride with several more unexplained plot twists and irritating characters to leave you feeling used and annoyed at Pixar's lack of thought and purpose for this movie. Skip it at all costs...

It's a good movie but very different from Cars or Toy Story. Like many Disney movies it has some sad and funny parts. My 3 children (ages 3-7) enjoyed it. Good thing is there isn't a bunch of merchandise I have to buy now :-)

Wow, thought this was going to be another great kids movie. But it's much deeper and better than that. Was kind of shocked by the depth of evil of the bad guy, and the strong emotions all around. I think the repeated viewing will be sweeter because I already know the outcome. I plan to watch it several more times over the years, with good space of time in between to make it precious. LOVED the dog -we have a golden, and think this is the breed. Our 13-year old son loved it, too. We all cried. Younger kids might be too shocked by this - I'd wait until they are about 10. Awesome job, PIXAR!

I took my 4 year old to see this. It was much too scary for her. I liked the movie a lot, the animation was excellent. But it was so sad. I cried, even though it had a basically happy ending it was definitely a tear jerker. Makes one realize how short life is.

Old and young will enjoy this movie. For me, the almost completely silent sequence in the beginning that shows the life of a couple in short bursts and stills is artistic and touching. The movie then gets going in earnest and the annoying kid is also irresistibly lovable. There is adventure and humor that every age can appreciate.

The movie was touching and funny. It had plenty of laughs and was silly enough for the kids, but had enough heart for adults. The animation is as good as anything I have seen. Pixar continues to be well ahead of the pack.
