Took two of my grand kids to the movie on Saturday. My nine year old chuckled his way through it; my five year old found it intense and got very "nervous" hoping Carl wouldn't fall out of the house, or off the blimp. She had her ears covered and, at times, her eyes. I had a lump in my throat along side a few tears, but also plenty of smiles. It is a home run for Pixar...again!

For a very large part of the movie, the words didn't much matter. The visuals were so very well done that the characters and story line carried the emotional needs and pleasures of the audience well. The quality of the cartoon characters' expressions was terrific and often priceless. The story inspired high feelings in many directions and was thoroughly enjoyable even for this adult.

This is by far the most violent, suspenseful, and heart-warming film Pixar has put out to date. Even “Wall-E” and “Bolt” are by comparison more light-hearted than “Up.” At least two characters bleed, a first (I believe) for Pixar.
The movie probes a variety of issues related to growth and life choices, but also portrays (amid its fantastical elements) the realities that accompany those life choices. Humor runs throughout, with an element of play that makes the movie enjoyable for both children and adults.

I took my wife and 3 kids(16,13,10)to this movie on Father's Day.We all loved the movie. They especially liked the talking dogs and the funny things that came out of there mouth. My wife and I liked the way they told the story about Ellie and touching relationship she had with Carl.Pixar has a way of showing this in just pictures and clips and no dialog. This movie was very enjoyable and would highly recommend to familes younger or older.

I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not, but for a kids' movie, I thought it was a bit somber at times. It deals with old age and death a little too much. Not sure I'd have my 6 year old son watch it.

This is a beautiful movie with a wonderful love story and a beautiful friendship that formed between an old man and a young boy. I have always been a Pixar fan. With Wall-E last year I had felt they had taken movies to a new level. I think UP holds to that standard. My fiancee who is NOT a fan of animated movies came with me to give me company but came away absolutely loving it. She still is quoting some of the lines. A Universally appealing movie.

"Up" was very well done and fast-paced, but not quite as kid-appropriate as past Pixar fare. The opening montage is a bit depressing and some semi-violent scenes throughout. Our young daughter did not seem too impacted by it (since much of it was over her head), but something to be aware of. Clear chance at an Oscar though as one of the most sophisticated animated films to date.

My husband and I took Granddaughters (7yrs, 5yrs and 20mos). This movie had something in it for all ages. Our youngest sat through the whole 1 hr and 36 mins. At some points I find myself laughing with joy and then quickly into tears from saddness. Disney had done it again, including the whole family. Wish more movies would do this.

There is much to like about this movie but it really doesn't meet the standards that Pixar has set for itself. For one thing, it was just too disconcerting to have the lead character look so much like Spencer Tracy yet sound like Ed Asner. For another, there were far too many liberties taken with plausibility. Still, there are some lovely moments, some genuinely touching ones, a few laugh-out-loud hilarious ones. I especially applaud the makers for making the character Russell Asian.

Within the first 30 min you get the feeling of a life unfulfilled and only when the house takes off does the real movie begin-everything prior is set up and backstory. Once in paradise falls things pick up with doug and kevin added in the mix
Overall another well done movie by pixar but the backstory gives the movie a more sad tone than even marlin loosing his family-except nemo in that opening.
Perhaps pixar's testing how people react to different stuff like no talking for wall-e's intro and a life unfulfilled in up.

After hearing for the thousandth time how good this movie was, my wife and I decided to kill a couple of extra hours going to see this movie. I'm not sure why some people think it might be the best movie this year, but it was absolutely enjoyable from the beginning to the end. We were laughing throughout the entire movie, and she cried during a few parts (I really didn't think they were THAT touching, but whatever). All in all, I'd say it's absolutely worth seeing for anyone, and the CGI is so beautiful, it's definitely worth seeing on the big screen.

My children range from 2 to 12. We all enjoyed this movie. Their grandparents live across the country, so I enjoyed the opportunity to discuss the relationships we can have with senior citizens in our community.

For a Disney flick, very standard fare. But it did have very touching moments that were quite well done (the1st few minute were the most beautiful Disney has ever done). However, I do have a problem with some of the continuity bout finding the explorer, but if you suspend your disbelief, it actually quite good, but unneccesary. A very charming flick overall, but wait for the DVD and see at home!
