I went to this movie expecting it to be fun for my 13-year old daughter and my husband, who likes kids' movies. I was absolutely blown away. It definitely is not a kids' movie. It was touching (I cried several times), had so much underlying meaning, had a wonderful plot, was beautifully done in so many ways. This is by far the best movie I have seen in months. Absolutely worth the time. Take tissues!

Pixar's animation is delightful and endearing. The story carries an inspiring message and although it is a bit simplistic on the surface, it can be interpreted on many levels. The plot development is uneven, with some parts dragging and others glossed over too quickly. Characters are amusing and well developed. I did not see it in 3D - I suspect it would be an even more amazing visual treat in that mode.

This movie by Pixar and Disney is a great example of a movie that can jump all age groups. It was entertaining and genuinely a feel-good movie for people of any age. There were people in the movie from the age of 5 up to the age of 65 and we were all thrilled with it. It was one of those movies that made you want to clap at the end and yet you were still sad to see it end, The lifelike characteristics of the characters are amazing! See it for yourself!

It's no secret to my friends that I loved Wall-e, and thought it was the best Pixar movie made, both technically and story-wise. That said, I'm not so sure that UP didn't meet or even beat Wall-E in the story department. The art style in UP is much softer, with the effect being used wisely throughout the entire movie.
There were a number of parts in the story that are extremely emotional, to the point that I was fighting back tears and holding my wife's hand a little bit harder. The voice acting is very good as always. I highly recommend any that is Pixar fan see this movie, and anyone who loves a good story should as well.

We saw this movie as a family -- ages 7 to 94 -- and every single one of us enjoyed the movie immensely. Probably for different reasons, as I noticed we didn't all laugh in the same places, but we all laughed and teared up several times throughout.

I attended this movie with my 10, 8 and 6 year old children, and we all loved it. Nothing “bad” to have to try and explain to my kindergartener but still “cool” enough for my 10 year old to enjoy. It even held my interest throughout (and there may have been a tear or two!) The main ‘fight-scene’ toward the end could get a little scary for some younger children, but it is over pretty quick (approx. 3 minutes??) and of course is overshadowed by the great, happy ending. We loved it!

The first act is heartbreaking. After that it becomes more of a traditional action movie, but still very tender hearted.
The talking dogs were a little much, but other than that it was a good movie. Not a classic, but good.

You know maybe I'm becoming the crotchedy (sp?) old man in the movie. I have to say I was let down. EVERYONE said **** Four Stars, Four Stars. I thought my mouth would be open the entire movie and I would be laughing hysterically. It is actually a sad movie and we are now spoiled with the technology of graphics so it's becoming mundane like space shuttle launches. OK I'm sorry I AM the old man in the movie. LOL Go see it just don't expect the laughter of Shrek.

We took our 8 & 3 yr olds to this movie. My daughter kept asking me if it was almost over. She LOVES dogs but thought that some were pretty mean and scary. My son loved it. I didn't like the very beginning making me cry - at least the first 15-20 min. When his wife dies, my daughter kept asking me what happened. She saw me crying and then started to cry also. Like others, I think some of the story line was way above kids heads. Good movie, but not one we will buy on DVD.

The 10th feature length film from Pixar is another winner. I took my 5 and 7 year-olds and they both had a great time. I found myself caught up in the story while the kids had plenty of opportunities to laugh along with the action. What separates Pixar from the rest of the animated features isn't the quality of animiation (which is remarkable) it's the attention to the story. While other movies try to cram in as many pop culture references as possible, Pixar is spinning a tale and adding humor where appropriate. I believe movies like Up will stand the test of time where other kid's flicks will fall by the wayside.

There were 9 of my family that went to this ranging in age from 12-74 and we all enjoyed it. It seemed like everybody was laughing and at times a little teary-eyed. This was the story of love from all aspects. I do not know if younger children would understand that angle, but over 12 would. Also, the old characters are modeled after Kirk Douglas and Spencer Tracy, I believe. Another great movie by Disney and Pixar.

Overall great movie. Some slow parts in the middle, the kids got a little restless. We bought tickets online, and didn't realize until the movie started we had gotten tickets for non-3D version. The kids (and parents) were very dissapointed. The movie was cute, but would have been spectacular in 3D.

Love Disney and Pixar. Great film overall. I avoided Wall-E with my 1 and 4 year old because I was afraid the kids wouldn't get it. I was wrong on that front as when it hit DVD my kids couldn't watch it enough. So, this time I took them to the theater. 2 and 5... they did... ok. ... though were a bit antsy. Visually the film was appealing and there was enough to satisfy them. Pixar is definitely raising the bar and not dumbing things down for the little kids. But with that said, there were a lot of us in the audience who probably should have opted to wait for the DVD on this one for them.

I admit -- I wanted to see this movie almost as much as my six-year old because I am such a fan of the Pixar work. The plot lines are dense, the characters are well-developed, the music is outstanding -- and I STILL can't believe all this is animated on a computer! My son had a bit of a tough time with all the subtleties of the story, but loved the characters. I am glad that I didn't take our four-year old because the dogs would have scared her and she would not have understood the whole issues around Mr. Muntz trying to redeem himself. Overall another great movie for Pixar!

I took my 3 year old to see this movie, and I wasn't impressed. It was very cute, just wasn't as good as I thought it would be. The colors are AMAZING! I thought the story line was cute, but for a kid movie, it lost my 3 year old's interest. He didn't get most of it, he just thought the bird was cute and he liked the balloons.
However, the short film before the movie was the cutest thing ever! Loved it!

Saw UP in a filled-to-capacity theater in Paramus, NJ. I found the story engrossing in a way that made me forget that the characters were animated. I felt like I had been transported to a magical land--a much needed diversion from the everyday stresses of life.
I will say that many of the children in the audience were constantly asking their parents about what was happening. Seems like it may have been hard to understand for younger children (ages 6 and below?).

The movie was enjoyable and I appreciate the message that you don't stop living because someone close to you has died.
