Up starts off carefree and happy, but I nearly cried when his wife dies and they have not realized thier life dreams. Sad when old man is destined for the old folks home. Picks up the pace when the house starts to fly. The talking dog is the best character. Happy ending. Entertaining for the whole family although the very young will struggle with the sad parts in the begining.

My husband and I took our two girls ages 9 and 7 to see this movie last night and it was a blast. We all loved it! Before we went I read quite a few reviews and the biggest complaint was the part where the couple lost their unborn child. Frankly, in my childrens case it went right over their heads. Other than that the movie was very funny and at the end it teaches a valuable lesson in life and friendship. Not a movie for the SUPER sensitive who can't handle their children seeing a little bit of what real life has to hold but a super great movie for those who are willing to openly explain that sometimes those kind of things happen. Can't be too judgmental, after all it is a cartoon.

Pixar does it again with a family film that appeals to everyone. After sitting through the awful previews for other kid friendly movies, my wife, three year old son, and I were swept away by Up's great characters and winning story. There are some intense scenes in the movie that are scary for the little kids. But I think that this is because you actually care about the characters similar to when Bambi loses his mom.

An excellent movie, especially for parents who are forced to constantly watch childrens movies. I loved it and would definitely recommend it. A beautiful pre-story about Carl and Ellie. When forced out of his home, the bitter old man (with a secret heart of gold) begrudgingly befriends Russell, who is often fatherless due to a divorce. It is a beautiful story and excellent Pixar magic.
Kudos to the pre-cartoon Partly Cloudy (? I think?) which was so cute! LOVED IT! Overall, I had a fabulous movie-going experience.

I chose this movie as the FIRST movie for my 4 year old daughter because the idea of a flying house with balloons was fantastic and magical and my daughter loved it. However, it turned out that the story was pretty loose until we got the actual flying house and it was hard for 4 year old girl to understand why the old guy need to leave the house. Also the evil guy and barking dogs in the movie were too scary for young girl. To me, it's good to see another PIXAR movie again but I won't bring my kids before I review the movies. I do not recommend this movie under 4 year old kids

Once again Pixar came through with a wonderful story line and outstanding characters! The only down fall I could see was that the previews did not prepare families of smaller children regarding the death and the violent behavior following the death. My 4 year old niece just about came unglued which led to a long discussion on the way home. Although those moments are short...they do affect smaller children. Now my 11 year old Nephew loved the movie!! Disney out does itself on color and details...Overall this movie is wonderfully entertaining but unless you are aware of some of the situations I would hesitate on taking small children.

Great movie. A beautiful love story with some action and comedy tossed into the mix for spice. I'd recommend it to nearly everyone. The one thing that I did notice however, was that much of the movie was lost on a younger audience. I'd say older kids (10-12 and up) would enjoy it more than the younger ones. Depending on your kids, your mileage may vary.

This movie started out very sad! Then it was funny and cute, and then it became scary and violent. My 6 year old little girl was hiding her face, screaming and wanting to leave. My 4 year old cried quietly and we had to leave. Their fear of dogs has increased exponentially! I would only take kids that are used to seeing such violence and action. We'll stick to Mary Poppins like movies!
