This was a good movie. If you're dating a girl this would be the movie to see. Personally, its not really worth the money, its a renter, but it is funny and has a love plot. If you are a Sandra Bullock fan, you will love this movie. She exudes the typical SB humor I have always loved. (i.e. Miss Congeniality) Ryan Reynolds also delivers a fitting performance...and his body....OMG! (as my teenager would say)
Very humorous performance from Betty White was also notable here. Craig T. Nelson portrays a typical dysfunctionally disabled father and Mary Steenburgen a whiney mother...but both you will find play their roles excellently.
You will either love this movie....or absolutely not. Definitely worth the cost of my ticket.

I went to see this movie with my girlfriend and my parents. This was the perfect role for both Ryan Reynolds & Sandra Bullock. Best part of this movie was the scenery, I didn't feel any chemistry between Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, she overshadowed him totally on screen, good romantic comedy has to have equally strong male/female characters, funny in spots, younger audience would probably enjoy it, for us older crowd , either rent or pass, didn't use either lead to their best advantage

Since it came out, I always thought that this movie looked cute. I heard great things about it, so I had pretty high expectations and The Proposal passed them easily. The theater was PACKED and everyone was laughing, sometimes even minutes after a joke. I went with my best friend and we had a great time. Absolutely one of the best 'feel good, charming, fuuny, heart warming, laugh out loud, crack up, cute and best all round' movies I have seen in ages. I have seen it twice and will buy it the minute it hits the stands and watch it again!

I was in the mood for laughing, and I was not disappointed. I know that Sandra Bullock is usually in the role of the sweetheart -- but she plays a pretty good mean lady! I also wondered how I would like Ryan Reynolds in the more vulnerable role, since he usually plays the smartie pants. I laughed my head off multiple times and enjoyed their performances and the writing. LOVE Betty White -- this role was just perfect for her. My husband couldn't get over seeing Sandra Bullock in the nasty role and didn't like it as much as I did -- he only gave it a 4 out of 5.
