Hilarious and truly entertaining. It is a movie for everyone. It's better than most romantic comedies, and the acting was top notch. This was Sandra Bullock at her best, and Ryan Reynolds was wonderful as the leading man. The supporting cast was engaging and funny as well. This movie was twice laughs than I expected. Sandra and Ryan nailed it. Their chemistry was great and the audience was rolling over with laughter . Sandra has a great body (so does Ryan) and you'll see why when you see the movie. Betty white was great as Grammy and gave the movie the extra kick to put it over the top. Do not wait for it to go on rental believe me it is worth to see with an audience. By the way when the credits roll, dont leave just yet.

I may be the only reviewer who noticed Betty White. What a nutty joy to watch. The movie, in general, was entertaining, well-acted (although Craig T. Nelson was not up to par) and worth the price of a ticket, for a change. Movies today are, in general, too violent, drug obsessed, lesson in life lectures, just generally boring or awful...but I keep trying to find just one that is actually entertaining. This one certainly was.

Went with Mom to see this "chick flick" but believe me, just as many males were laughing out loud in the audience as females! Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds were BRILLIANT, as was Betty White who reminded me exactly why "Sue Ann Nivens" and "Rose" (Golden Girls) remain such beloved characters to this day. Yes, the outcome was predictable but the "ride" to get there was pure pleasure!

Of course, it's a romantic comedy so you know the ending before the movie starts, but this was much more fun than usual. Casting was excellent throughout; good comedic timing be eveyone. It was nice to see the female lead not be cutesy --S. Bullock's character was unpleasant, to say the least, but also not THAT far off from some in real life.(Make sure you stay for the credits)

This movie was so cute and funny. Being a Canadian that had to go through immigration to marry my American husband, I found this movie hilarious. Of course, we didn't have such a hard time as they did but still. Sandra Bullock is an amazing actress and Ryan Reynolds makes you fall in love with him no matter what movie he's in. A total dreamboat. This movie was by far one of my favorite comedies. I can't wait to buy it when it comes out on DVD.

A friend and I went to see the sneak preview and we really enjoyed the movie. I would agree with most of the other viewers that the movie was rather predictable. This movie was hilarious! Sandra Bullock's physical comedy had me thinking of Lucille Ball. The understated style of Ryan Reynolds was the perfect compliment. My daughter and I went to a sneak preview of The Proposal. The movie was funny & Betty White was hilarious. There were also a few times when we both got teary eyed -- some times from laughing and some times from crying! The cast of the film is fabulous, and the script is pretty good. Odd editing choices at some points, and ends abruptly without enough resolution. The relationship between Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds was well-defined in the begininning, and developed at a satisfying pace...not rushed, not glossed over...and the boss/employee thing worked without being a "cougar" thing. I worry about a genre of "tame the b***h" movies, though...it kind of reminded me of the Goldie Hahn/Kurt Russell film "Overboard", which I also enjoyed, but both of which have men as shrew-tamers as their central plot.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Proposal but my male friend who went with me said he wouldn't be telling his colleagues he attended the film. Even though I heard him laugh out loud on a few occasions, he said "You owe me one" and he gets to choose our next film. He thought it highly predictable and was annoyed by Sandra's overly botoxed face. I, on the other hand, thought she was a delight (albeit too old for Ryan Reynolds) and I will recommend it.

My husband, son, and I absolutely enjoyed this movie. Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds were great together. This movie kept us all entertained, leaving the theater grinning. If you need some good laughs with a happy ending, don't miss this one!!

Logic says the plot line can only go one way...and it does. A bit farcical, but so well acted and such good synergy among the cast. Very comical and unexpectedly emotional. Recommended, but would haved loved for the "alternate ending". Great date movie.
