First of all any comedy with Sandra Bullock automatically starts with two stars in my book. Ryan Reynolds has come along way since "Two Guys A Girl And A Pizza Place." But the show stealing performance belongs to Betty White as "Grammy". If she isn't considered for at least Best Supporting Actress then there is no justice. Ms. Bullock plays an executive that makes the late Leona Hemsly seem warm and fuzzy. When she she is informed by her bosses that she is being deported because she filed to fill out the proper forms in time she will be deported. When her assistant shows up to "get her out of the meeting" she suddenly annouces to them that they are getting married. This starts a chain reaction to the obvious.

The Movie was a BIG set up! True that we loved it (my wife & 13 year old daughter loved. I liked it). The plot is very predictable as far as all love movies are concerned. Best of all, the movie went by in less than Two really fast hours. The movie would have been a normal Girlly man type movie, but the actor & actress make this a must see. Although it is a Big set up for part two, “Proposal to the Wedding”, the ‘Wedding’ better come very soon to acquire a 5 star for part 1. How soon, before part 1 becomes a DVD. Oh, & look for “Proposal to the Wedding to the Baby” if the producers remain smart, because this is a ‘must see Sandra and Ryan thing,’ that’s where the money is in this movie, because the stories are as I said, “predictable.”

Watching Sandra Bullock in The Proposal was like taking a familiar drive along the main drag in your old hometown. . Of course Bullock and Reynolds are cute together and there is something to be said of the guts it takes to have yourself up there naked at 40+, but the predictable story line and telegraphed ending make it another cliche flick. All in all there ARE laughs in The Proposal, but not enough to make it stand out from While You Were Sleeping (in fact the weddiing scene was most familiar here) I say wait for rental and while you're waiting watch Sandra work the "L" train in Chicago with Bill Pulman because you will be watching basically the same film 15 years earlier. Hum, sounds familiar?

This is truly hilarious. Sandra and Ryan have great chemistry, constant laughs, and Betty White out does herself. Even the 2nd tier cast has funny lines that never stop. Two thumbs up! This movie is a real surprise - Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds are a delight. But the real star is Betty White - she is an absolute hoot.

Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds have great chemistry and this is definately comedy and not just a "chick flick", great to see Craig T. Nelson again, Betty White is excellent too! One movie I would probably see again, lots of laughs!
