This was a great escape from a hot summer day. The two actors did a great job, and while there were some predictable elements in the movie, there were also a couple of surprises. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Was glad I did not make my husband go to this pure chick-flick movie.

I went to this movie with my daughter because she wanted to see it, and I figured I would be in for a cute movie. I got much more than that. I thought it was very enjoyable, funny, touching and, well, OK, it was cute, too. It was not without its flaws. Several plot points were overdone, and others were left unresolved, but all in all, it exceeded my expectations.

I took my girlfriend to see this movie, and we both agreed it was a good moving. Ryan and Sandra are both great in their character roles and the movie is loaded with funny situations and comments that are easy to relate, such as being embarassed in front of his or her parents. The movie is predictable, but it was overall a good movie, I would recommend and see again.

We took our 12 year old Granddaughter and we all enjoyed it. Fast paced, hilarious, cute, fun, the chemistry between the characters was great. Betty White was perfect as the Grammy. Truly a wonderful, light, positive, and just plain nice way to spend an evening. Reminded me of the old Rock Hudson Doris Day comedys. Great Fun!

Ryan Reynolds is great but I think they should have casted someone a little younger than Sandra Bullock. She is 44 and Ryan Reynolds is like 34. I could tell the difference. Very funny!

This was a really cute movie, and a naked Ryan Reynolds certainly didn't hurt my rating of it. Despite some predictability plot-wise, it was full of some great jokes and very cute moments between Bullock and Reynolds -- two very talented actors. Definitely go see it; it's not Oscar material, but it's great all the same.

I went with several generations of our family when we couldn't get into another movie. I was not expecting much but was very pleasantly surprised by how funny and entertaining this movie is. This cast did an exceptional job of making you feel like this was real life. Who doesn't love Sandra Bullock and Betty White. Ryan Reynolds is quickly going to the top of my list of fav male actors. The laughter was so loud that we missed some of the movie. The theater was packed. We brought along another married couple and both of the men loved the movie. Not just a chick flick!!!!

This was a good movie that I would recommend seeing. Betty White steals the movie. If you like her, you will love this movie. Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds have great - and believable - chemistry. This movie was really good, lol funny, the whole theater was cracking up (guys and girls), in fact the theater was packed barely any seats and it was a tuesday night! I thought Sandra, Ryan and Betty were hysterical and it was really well written. I liked the story and thought it was funnier then the typical romantic comedy. I feel (most) guys will enjoy this one as much as girls. I would recommend it as a date movie or girls night out!

The Proposal is a typical romantic comedy, which in the summer movie season can actually be a welcome change from the typical CGI overload. Bullock and Reynolds have a nice chemistry, decent acting chops, and there are enough humorous points in the film to make it pleasantly bearable. Oddly, the only thing I didn't buy was Betty White as some sort of neo-pagan. Seemed more strange than funny.
The Proposal is perfect as a date movie if you're more interested in your date than what's up on the screen (I definitely was). The plot is amazingly predictable, and if the movie makes money expect to see a sequel set in Alaska.

I was one of about three guys in a packed theater on a Tuesday night to see this movie, and was completely prepared to hate it; the cacophony of female chatter before the movie began was deafening! However, the on-screen chemistry between Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, along with a somewhat less than predictable story line keeps your attention from beginning to end...and it is VERY funny!

Ryan Reynolds is absolutely hysterical, as usual. Sandra Bullock is beautiful and charming as usual. That being said, the on screen chemistry between the two of them is great. It was funny throughout and touching at just the right time. Mary Steenburgen is great and Betty White is always over the top. Craig T. Nelson is also very good. My entire family saw the movie this past weekend and everyone enjoyed thoroughly!

A rather formulaic chick flick. Several cute funny moments but nothing hilarious. Sandra Bullock plays a stern, no nonsense Canadian executive working in New York who has to find a man to marry to remain in the country or be deported. She hooks up of course with a handsome type to get a fiance visa. I guess a short, old, ugly, bald Mister big belly would not do. She finds out that when emotions are involved, it is more than just a business deal and the two fall in love.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
