Nicholas Cage plays the part of a dark, cold blooded assassin better than I expected. Slowly, he starts to find what is missing from his life, compassion. But his fate won't have it working out that way. The ending is the lowest point in the movie, making no sense and deviating the film into a convenient and politically correct ending.

This movie started as a typical Hollywood action movie, but it started to change about 1/3 through. It reminded me more of one of the Asian (Chinese or Korean) action movies where more character depth--mostly around the main character ,not to him--was emphasized. The view of Thailand was a bit one-sided--until the love interest was introduced. Once the main character began to see the humanity in others close to him, his picture of reality changed. He started to see that what he did impacted others--usually in a negative way. I believe that is what truly changed the main character and may have brought about his undoing in the end.

You will forget all the bullets fired and the explosions when Nick Cage kills himself and the bad guy. Written very poorly....and Cage plays an assisin that I marvel lived as long. He never seems in control of himself or his mission. He falls short of Jason Bourne by far. Having him apprentice a killer reminded me of the Karate Kid...didn't fit. It will be out on DVD soon. If you like Cage, go see it. But if you don't go...you won't miss much.

I enjoyed most of the movie until the end. A different role and a different look for Nicholas Cage, which was good for him as an actor. It made no sense that a hardened assassasin would suddently trust and take in a student with no prior relationship. It also made no sense that he would shoot two pickpockets in the presence of the girl when it could have been a butt kicking scene instead. And the ending was ridiculous and sorely disappointing. Wait for the video...maybe.

I am sorry to hear that this movie got so many bad reviews, but I thought Nicolas Cage did an outstanding job of both playing hero and villan at the same time. There were a few parts of the movie that didn't really work (I'd give it a 3& half star rating if I could) but overall the good far outweighed the bad and the cinematography / production was quite respectable.

Excellent Film! Nicolas Cage really made this character completely believable. He had that bad boy hardness coupled with an underlying sadness, loneliness and vulnerability that makes women want to fold him in their arms and keep the shadows at bay. All the characters were great! The action was enough to keep things exciting without being overdone. Go see it!

The action was great, realistic and not over the top with crazy stunts that make it unbelievable. The love story was natural and left unexplained and to the imagination. The ending was powerful and took a lot of chances not playing into the lame endings that many successful movies do - often worrying about what the masses will think and catering to focus groups. Have you seen Bangkok Dangerous yet? I saw it this weekend and really enjoyed it! Nicolas Cage once again proves himself as an action star that you can feel for. The story is intense with a beautiful blend of violence and romance. The people and environment of Thailand really take this film to another level. Murder, love, and friendship all come together in The Pang Brothers excellent remake of their own movie from 1999. This ones got style!

This was the old Hitman at the end of his carreer finally breaks his own rules and tries to turn good. You defiinately could see the Honk Kong style influance. This movie was based on the original Bangkok Dangerous movie in Thai. Not exactly one of NIcholas Cage's best works- but overall it was a good action movie and passable. Watch and judge for yourself.

nick cage fans will be let down. action and special effects don't make up for a nonexistant story line, lack of character development, and forgettable moments of clarity. no gratifying chararcteristics at all, and mr. cage will try to forget this one, right along with me. waste of time and money.
