I'm writing this without having read the negative reviews, because I can guess what a lot of detractors are saying. Yes, this plot may be predictable, and yes, there are moments of America's Funniest Videos humor (shots to the crotch)...but as someone with an appreciable degree of intelligence, I state categorically that I was relieved to find this movie as funny as the previews played it to be. Robin & John are great in their roles, as are the kids (and even the dog). Seth Green is a scream (literally) in his supporting role. This film, for me, showed that in the right hands, slapstick humor can STILL be used INTELLIGENTLY to create an engaging comedy experience at the movies. Go see it. I really, really loved it.

I was expecting to see a good Williams-Travolta flick, but I didn't plan on laughing that hard. I knew Williams was funny but I didn't know that Travolta was just as equally hilarious. It had a good plot and had you leaving happy, satisfied, and laughing. This is a must see of 2009!

The movie was laugh out loud funny! A great family movie. We had ages 7years old to 47 years old there and everyone of us enjoyed it. There were no slow parts in this movie. We are even thinking of buying the DVD when it comes out.

I thought this movie was very funny - so much funnier than what you see in the trailer. If you read the critics remarks, no one would see this movie, but I'm happy to say that it was a great surprise and so funny in parts that the laughter was deafening!

Hilarious! I laughed until my stomach hurt. I was sceptic that these "old dogs" still had something to offer the cinema, but they have talent the young ones can't match---clean comedy. It was nice to get away from the struggles of economy & enjoy what real actors do best! Give us a reason to go to the movies.

So many funny parts: I happened to be sipping bottled water when - much to my embarrassment- I ended up spitting it all over the person in front of me. At times I was laughing so much I could not catch my breath, I was holding my stomach and my knees almost came up to my chin ! The whole movie audience was "in stitches". This film would have been better titled Old Dog. It was old, predictable, flea bitten and couldn't be taught any new tricks. The actors were of marginal abilities at best and the old formula script was a woefull compilation of countless previously failed attempts at humor. Some of the slapstick was OK, but there was almost no plot to speak of.
Robin Williams wasn't at his best, and showed almost no flashes of his maniacal humor. It's disappointing to see Travolta play another whining sniveler. It was funny in "Wild Hogs" but grated here.

My husband and I love Robin Williams and John Travolta for their various roles over the years. It was only natural to want to see them together...they were hysterical! This movie seems to be a comedy, but didn't quite seem to find what was funny. Being disabled might have something to do with it, but I enjoyed it otherwise. It started at 11 for a 10:45 showtime, so the wait time was not too bad.
