This movie would be great to see, but a bit difficult to understand if you had not read the previous books. The movie was very true to the book, and there were only a few small alterations. The movie had much more humor in it than the previous ones, and it was much more ominous and erie.

I was looking forward to this movie, but with trepidation: the 6th movie was disappointing, key characters and events were omitted from previous movies that will be important to Deathly Hallows -- could the movie be as satisfying as the book? The answer is: never, the books will always be superior, but this movie did not disappoint me! From the beginning, the tone is moody, you can feel the tension that is shared by the citizens of the wizarding world. The young actors have matured (Emma Watson in particular), and their performances are impressive. The movie's creators have even managed to re-insert Bill & Fleur, so I am hopeful that the final installment won't be full of holes. I am now eagerly awaiting next summer and the wonderful conclusion.

Finally, WB gives the final book enough time on screen. 2 /12 hours flew by. No dead spots, Not much missing from the books unlike the previous movies. The split was in a good location. I enjoyed the maturity of the main characters and how their interaction an relationships are interpreted on screen. Special effects were awesome. Cant wait for part 2.

Deathly Hallows Part I is the film true Potter fans have been waiting for. As the series has progressed, the movies have strayed farther and farther away from the excellent story told by JK Rowling, but this movie finally breaks the trend. While there were minor changes made to the story, there were no silly additions (like the Burrow burning down in HBP) or gaping holes. Excellent acting by the entire cast, they have really captured the tone of this final book. You will laugh, cry, jump out of your seat and certainly not leave the theater dissapointed. Can't wait for Part II!!!!

The highest praise I can give this movie is that I felt the same watching it as I did reading the book. The cinematography was exquisite, the acting superb, and the plot deep. A moving beginning of the end, I look forward to the final installment.

The action scenes and the sounds were great! Amazing casting and acting! The suspense, the emotions, and the plot of the book was capture very well in this movie. Obviously it has less details but the pieces selected and the way it was put together was very well done. I cannot wait to see it again!

This movie was nothing short of amazing. Every scene made my hair stand on end, and I was either laughing, crying or staring with jaw dropped in awe. The fearsome three played their parts phenomenally. I would highly suggest any Harry Potter movie to a movie goer, but so far Harry Potter and the Dealthy Hallows part 1 takes the icing of the cake. Already can't wait for part 2 next summer!

They did pretty well. although it was 2 and a half hours, i would have like to see more from the book in there. I think if you have read the book it is easy to follow the movie, if not then it was harder to understand what was going on. Over all i would suggest it.

2 1/2 hours just flew by! This by far was so close to the book. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Can't wait to re-read the book before July!!!! A must see for anyone who loves Harry Potter books or movies!

The movie was absolutely stunning. Graphically rich and beautiful to the eyes. I wouldn't be very surprised if there isn't a few finger impressions on the arms of the seats where people had squeezed them from suspense.
Some people thought it dragged on in the middle, but I thought that it laid out the movie perfectly. It was a spectacular story-telling event, one of which that follows more closely to the book than any of it's predecessors. It was better than I ever imagined and some of the others said it followed their exact visions that they had had when they read the actual book.
The splitting into parts may have been the best idea they could have done. Some say it was for financial purposes, though I believe that there was just no better way that they could lay it out. The ending was not too abrupt and took place at the perfect time. I can tell you right now that summer will never come slower than it is going to this year.
It is an absolute must see. Three hour wait? Who cares.
If you don't see it in theaters, then you are missing out.

For parents I would warn of the partial nudity in the movie but otherwise this movie is great. I think that it moved slowly and was very dramatic but it was to be expected at this point in the series. Lots of excitement and tons of "jumping out of your seats" moments. Overall I liked the movie a lot!

Cinematic brilliance! I mean truly spectacular film making. I've seen Casablanca, but this movie is the real deal as far as true classics go. I was very surprise with the turn they took in the story for this movie. I'm really on edge to see part 8. Why are the last two movies both named Deathly Hallows. Is it because that part of the storyline will be in both. It seems a bit silly to me and is my only real issue. I suppose it's fine though as I hear they will not be making a Harry Potter part 9. See this movie!

What a great start to the ending of what has been a thrillingly gripping era of entertainment. This movie even allowed for a more indepth way of shooting and more intimate prtraits of the charcters plights and issues. This is sure to have anyone who sees it, begging july to come along for the second and final installment. Once they release the dvd set i certainly will among the purchasers who flock to get it. It will be bitteraweet to see it end but man,what a ride.

This is one of the Harry Potter movies that follows the story line very closely. They did an excellent job of cutting out some of the more drawn out parts of the book while still keeping all of the details and story intact. It is another must see and I do wish the second part was coming out sooner. I think they did an excellent job of ending the movie at a key part as well.

This was by far the movie that stayed as close to the book as possible. I didn't mind terribly the things they omitted or the things they added. It might be confusing for those who haven't read the books, but for those who have, it is truly amazing and a great telling of the story! I laughed, sobbed, and squealed! Go see it!
