being an "old-timer" in a theatre full of teens was quite entertaining (alot of Potters around) but definitely worth the wait. kinda missed all the spell casting and battles, but i know they'll be there for part II - i may not be the 1st in line again, but i'll be there ! dobby rules

Dark and twisted, simple, and true to the book, this possibly could be one of the best Harry Potter movies yet. I left the theatre wanting more and truly feeling for the characters, which is the mark of a truly good movie.

I'm a huge Harry Potter fan... read the books, went to every midnight premiere of every movie to come out... and this one I felt is by-far the best out of the 7 (that is until Part 2 comes out). The movie portrayed the book very well and the fact that it is broken up into 2 parts makes it's portrayal so much better. With the other movies, they had to be cut short because if they hadn't, the movie could have been 4-5 hours long. This 2-part is great because the final chapter of the series needs to be fully shown. A must-see!

Awesome!!! I really enjoyed this movie so much; having 2 parts has allowed the film makers so much more room to add the essential plotlines. Unlike in HBP, which was my favorite book and turned out quite disappointing in the theater, in which crucial character developments and major plot details were left out completely or barely skimmed over. I will be going back to watch DH part 1 at least once more in the theater to maximize my experience and cherish it.

It was a good movie but did not follow the books. And im not one of those people that thinks it has to, but this is the first time it bothered me. They took some stuff too far. For example they made the characters look like drug addicts by the red rings around their eyes and when ron went to open the slytherin locket they made it look like the naked characters were about to have sex. It was a good movie but I felt it lacked in alot.

One of the better conversions from book to movie. There were many areas of the first part of the book that were not included but it did not ruin the story. All the scenes I was looking forward to were incorporated in the movie so it did not bother me. I think David Yates made some great decisions with the movie adaption compared to the previous films which I have been thoroughly disappointed in. Another high note, all the actors impressed me. Daniel Radcliffe really knows who he is in this movie. Rupert Grint showed a different side of Ron Weasley very well, he was dark and we've never seen that before. Emma Watson was who I was impressed with the most, being an avid reader, I was most excited for her role in this movie. She really shined as the motherly figure of the trio. The emotional roller coaster Hermione goes through in this movie is portrayed really well, and I think this is one of Watson's best performances (see Malfoy Manor scene). Keep in mind as much as they wanted to include everything, it is still impossible to incorporate every single storyline and detail in any movie and they could possibly include more of the missing areas of part 1 into part 2. Overall, very well adapted, very good decisions, and their best acting. Can not wait until part 2.

If anyone is an actual Harry Potter fan then they will truly appreciate how accurate the movie is to the book. It follows it almost perfectly without allowing those 'Movie Harry Potter' fans to enjoy the movie. I totally could have sat through another 2.5 to 3 hours and watch the whole movie!! It was that great! I feel as though the actors/actresses were amazing and portrayed the characters perfectly. I love this lovie!!

Great movie! Not the most action packed, and it doesn't follow the book completely, but otherwise GREAT! The ending was perfect, just like I imagined it. All of the actors and actresses did fantastic jobs, and I can't wait to see Part 2.

Another incredible movie...staying true to the book and characters. It was worth the wait! The movie is packed with action, suspense and touching moments. Some really funny scenes too. The actors are amazing and stepped up thier game on every level. I'm running out to see this movie again this weekend.

This movie is the closest to any of the books, so far. It was an awesome visual and emotional experience. Truly fantastic acting and cinematography.
*Spoiler alert* I wished the scene with the CGI Harry and Hermoine kissing hadn't been as explicit as it was, but other than that the movie was only as graphic as it needed to be according to the book.

I enjoyed the movie. It continues to develop the conflict against the evil wizards, and leaves you guessing what is next, as they seem to be getting the upper hand.
Although the movie introduced some new developments, it seemed to plod along somewhat. I was also expecting a little more inclusion of the "good guys", but for the most part it was the three friends.
I am guessing that the next part will bring more of what I was looking for and that this installment is setting the stage for that.
Still, if you are a fan, you must see it.

This movie had me screaming, crying, awing, and clapping. Even not that big a Harry potter fan would love it. It sucks you in. I went on the midnight premiere with the hard core fans and everyone was so excited and it was just amazingly well done.

I did not feel like the movie was 2 1/2 hours, it went too fast. I could have sat for another 2 1/2 hours. The break was in a good spot, the action was building up and if it had been much later it may have been more difficult to stop. As it was, the whole theater screamed "nooooooo!!" when it ended, so it seems to me I'm not the only one who can't wait for the rest.

honestly, I love and hate that they split it up into two movies---god, i would've paid $20 to watch the full thing for 6 hours! They could've done it old school style with an intermission and everything like Gone With the Wind.

The film was wonderful, and did a great job of sticking very close to the book. It was heart wrenching and hilarious all at once, and had a way of making sure I always had tears building in the corners of my eyes. This movie represents the beginning of the end of my childhood, and was beautifully made in such a way that completely fit the role it plays for my generation.
