I was completely enthralled during the entire movie! Some people have said that 2 1/2 hours was too long but I could have watched it for 4 hours! The graphics were amazing and I am now yearning for part 2!!! A must see movie for anyone!

Right in line with the others, this movie takes the viewer immediately into Harry's reality and keeps you there until the very end. The stopping point was the perfect place to split the final story. I'm waiting anxiously for the second half to be released!

the movie was very different from past potter films, much more dark and mature. It had elements of thriller, action, and comic relief throughout and your favorite characters do not fail to make their appearances. A great movie to see with friends and/or family

I recently attended the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 Premiere, and and must say, it was a wonderful film!!! Truly, Yates does it again by pulling our favorite protagonist Harry Potter and life long friends Ron and Hermione into an emotional and thrilling adventure to finally put an end to Lord Voldemort by destroying all the remainig Horcruxs.
And before I get into this any further, I will first elaborate my main flaws with this movie, so beware the upcoming SPOILERS. LOL Okay then, for the true Harry Potter fans, seen every movie and reread every book before watching this film, I will say I did have a few problems with this film. As stunningly visual and as faithful as they were to the film, I was disappointed with some of the major events and details that weren't in the film, and to this day I still don't know why they are not. Take the scene where Dudley finally warms up to Harry and the family makes their peace before they leave; and they just left him there with any real concern but for themselves. >:( Another big problem I had was this dance scene where Harry is trying to break the tension and ease Hermione just after Ron left; I understood what the director attempted to do, but to be brutally honest it fell flat and thought it was the worst 5 minutes of the film. And for the fans out there, I'm sure there are a few more events and things that were done differently in the film that I know who're probably cursing to the very flames of hell, as we speak. LOL I won't go into huge detail anymore, but I will say that for a huge blockbuster series finally coming to an end, and with 2 WHOLE MOVIES to work with, there could have been more time to add more important things from the book that could have easily be put in and could have replaced some of the pointless parts the production made.
With all of that being said though, this still is a great movie for HP fans and will leave everyone satisfied until Part 2 arrives July 22. The movie moves quick given the 2 hrs. and 45 mins. it has, and yet slows down when it needs to; in this case, the pacing of this film is great for getting the adrenaline going, and resting when needed. Or that was how I felt at least. LOL All in all, everything was great in terms of story, cast performances were at their very best, and to top it off making it visually gripping in both special effects and story; I think what I love most is that once Yates came in, the dialogue from the book he brings to the film comes a lot more naturally to the characters, and for a film to adapt so well in that way steals the show for me. So all and in all, this is an enthusiastic Full Price film, and I'd see the film soon; I would be certain at this point even daily matinees will be selling out sooner than we think.

As the anticipation of this movie was overwhelming to many, I always try and go in with the least amount of outside influence as possible, such as trailers, reviews or hipe.
The goods as always, are the charactors, costumes and definitly the scenery in this movie they really stepped out of the norm. This impresses me, but it might scare the Harry Potter regular to step outside of its purely magical zone. As for an average viewer I think it could of simply been compressed by shortening scenes that clearly had some dead time in them, this would of given the movie a more even flow, instead of highs and lows. Well my kids loved it and maybe thats what matters.

I've basically grown up with the Harry Potter series, and I'm very glad to admit this is my absolute favorite of the movies! As a huge fan of the books, I was a bit doubtful that the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 could live up to my expectations, but it absolutely did! The pacing was fantastic, as were the action scenes! Definately a must-see!

The movie was brilliantly executed and remained true to the printed story. Part one depicted the "slower" portion of the book in such a way that it never felt boring nor unnecessary. Even the "animated" story of the Deathly Hallows was captivating and well done. The minor deviations from the book truely added to the movie experience and made it richer and broader with regard to the understanding of the emotional struggles of all of the heroic characters. With rare exceptions all of the actors delivered their parts in such a way that the movie truly grabbed your heart and your attention. The sound and special effects are spectacular. In all, the Harry Potter saga is coming of age and I can hardly wait for the final installment with all of its glory and fast paced epic action.

By far the best in the series; it really sets up for Part 2 in July. There wasn't too much differing between the book and movie, just some random things added.

Great adaptation of the book. Held me for the whole 2 hours. Harry, Ron and Hermione really kept the plot together and their acting was great. Loved Nagini, ugh!
Ending was just right for a Part 1. I can't wait until Part 2.

The movie was a mixture of excitement, love, friendship looking into the past while trying to see if they would have a future. It was sad and scary in some parts it was great mixture of everything you want in a movie. Was left wanting more even after 2 1/2 hours. Can't wait for the ending, but also will be sad as it has become a tradition with my daughter and I to see these films.

Excellent movie. True to the book mostly. Romantic scene with Hermoine and Harry a bit much but otherwise can't wait for the last one. Had to come home and re-read the book to see what was next. Too bad they will not release Part II until next year. This is a set of movies I will own and watch forever. Great job.

It had lots of action, suspense and comedy. I like it had more comedy this time then in the past films. And the comedy fit in the picture well too. There wasn't any dead spots either were you can doze off.(My husband did not fall asleep!) This is a big accomplishment for all the actors.

I thoroughly enjoyed this addition to the Harry Potter series. Definately alot darker and a bit more scary. Does not attract the exact same crowd as the first one does but it is appropriate for the way the series evolves. Just feel bad for the 4 and 5 year olds in the theatre. I would question taking my 5 year old to it. Overall, great story! Looking forward to the last!!

Of course all Harry Potter films have been amazing, however this was darker than any of them, or even all put together. Definately becoming more of an adult audiance film. It has you thinking along with them as they try to figure out the next step. This was a great change of pace to the other Harry Potters, without actually being all that much different. Awesome movie!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was a good movie and I understand why they broke it into two parts. It is the culmination of the series and well down. The movie does justice to the book as best as it can. I have not read the story in awhile so I did not remember everything from it which helped and hindered my view of it. I would see it again and definitely recommend it to friends as a movie to go watch.

I must say that this has to have been one of the best movies of Harry Potter. It followed the book very nicely, to be honest I was wondering if they were going to cut out one of the characters who has a big role but was not shown in the other movies when that character had a part. (I'm not going to say the name and spoil the movie). Although I must say that I wish they had done this well for the other books since I had to explain some parts that were not really included in the previous movies to people who had not read the books before. Very good film and I can't wait for part 2 so I can go to the midnight showing.

This HP film was so delightfully directed, furiously exciting, and magnificently crafted that any fan of the series must see it, and that is a statement that, in my opinion, does not hold true for the rest of the series. While the previous Harry Potter films were enjoyable summations of a script far too detailed and complex for the big screen, I finally felt like Deathly Hallows did what all the previous films were meant to do. While minute details worth skipping were skipped, the meat of the plot was here in all its grandeur. The direction and production qualities of this Harry Potter made me think of The Social Network, very artistic and well done, an absolute treat. At the end of the day the main flaw with HP7 is the very nature of the movie itself, its half the story, but I do not believe this is a reason to give this movie less than 5 stars for an exceptional film.
